Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 The Mayor’s Secretary’s Wife

Kelsie didn't stop to know who held the man down and kept walking towards the woman.

Realizing she was suddenly now in a disadvantage, the woman parted her lips to say something, but Kelsie balled the hankerchief she used in wiping off makeup off her palm and stuffed it into her mouth.

Then clamped down her mouth with her palm and slapped her a second time.

Unlike the first time, she didn't hold back this time. As a result, the effect of the slap abruptly sent the woman down to the floor.

Kelsie didn't stop there.

She bent over and pulled her up to stand on her feet, then slapped her again.

She repeated this action two more times before the woman's knees buckled weakly and she dropped to her knees in fear, tears streaming down her face and barely able to stop the mucus trailing down her nose.

"I get it! I get it! Don't hit me again. I won't call them bastards. They're not bastards. It was wrong of me to call them bastards! Please, don't hit me again!" She screamed out fearfully, fervently rubbing her palms against each other when she saw Kelsie raise her hand to slap her again.

Hearing her apology, Kelsie naturally stopped.

Truthfully, she knew a time would be come when her children would be called bastards.

She just didn't expect it to come so soon.

And the only reason they never got to experience something like this abroad was because no one knew how she got pregnant since she was from a different country.

She wasn't close enough with anyone who would ask her such personal questions either. So no one other than her aunt knew how their birth came about.

The fact she couldn't also give them a father haunted her whenever she thought of it. She didn't know how to make it up to them, which was why she tried her best to be both parents to them.

But suddenly having someone humiliate them in public because of something that was her fault was something she would never condone.

The sudden silence and the blank look in Kelsie's caused the woman to panic as she concluded she was still offended by what she said.

Recalling the immense strength Kelsie had used in holding her down just now caused the hairs on the back of her neck to stand on end in fright.

"It-it was really wrong of me to call them that." She mumbled, but loud enough for Kelsie and everyone around to hear her.

It was at this moment that an announcement rang out about the movie in the theater starting.

However, no one moved.

Most of the parents had gotten angry at Kelsie for displaying such a violent behavior in front of young children and naturally reached out to the management to kick her out.

The security guards arrived shortly after. When they saw the sight the woman Kelsie slapped was in, they were rendered speechless.

Kelsie had slapped her so much both of her cheeks were red and swollen with handprints on them.

But before they could say anything, the woman's husband who was being held down, seethed in rage, "This bastard won't let me off! Pull him off me and throw him in jail. I'll make sure he rots there for a few months!"

Hearing his arrogant words, the guards instantly knew he was someone important, still but didn't move from where they stood.

These group of parents had gotten the management involved so quickly. Whatever was going on was a fight between the wealthy.

As struggling security men, the last thing they wanted was to offend a wealthy person while carrying out an order by another wealthy person.

Hence, they needed to thread carefully.

The captain of the group stepped forward and flashed the man a polite smile.

He was about to say something when Zade stepped towards the man and half-shouted, "Uncle Daniel, twist his arm a little harder. He's a bad man who wanted to hurt mommy!"

The triplets were smart enough to know their mother had caused quite a ruckus and would be in trouble.

While they knew their mother could take care of herself, they knew their entire family could be kicked out of the park for what she had just done to the woman.

They still had to watch the movie and make their mommy meet Daniel Adler's brother. They couldn't let a plan they worked so hard to create go to waste so easily.

Hence, Jesse stood in front of Daniel and spoke to the captain defensively, "His wife called us bastards and his son bullied me. They should be the ones to rot in jail instead!"

However, the man being held down by Daniel was even more angered.

"Hey, do you not hear me? I'm the mayor's secretary, Gordon Syklar. Get this bastard away from me or he won't be the only one who rots in jail!"

Hearing who he was, the security guards instantly knew whose side they were supposed to be on.

They were about to take a step closer to Daniel when the man suddenly released his grip on Gordon Syklar.

The sudden shove sent Gordon stumbling forward before he held onto something to support himself.

He glared at Daniel and snickered, "Hmph! Did you finally get scared now that you know who I am? Had you listened to me the first time when I asked you to let go of me, a stupid mutt like you won't…"

He didn't get to complete his sentence as Daniel suddenly stretched his leg and shoved him to the floor.

He slipped his hands into his pocket and looked down on him as he said coldly, "Even if the mayor of Sillicon Valley was here, he would still have to lower his head when talking to me. Where does a mere secretary get the audacity to speak to me so freely!"

Meanwhile, in the parking lot, Jett Adler ended the business call he had been on and began walking into the amusement park.

Daniel had suddenly left him to buy movie tickets as he had to attend an emergency conference meeting online.

The closer he got to the building, the emptier he found it.

This was the most popular amusement park in Silicon Valley which was always filled with people no matter what day it was.

Given that he owned it, he knew it never made the same amount twice and each day's revenue was always higher than the last.

He was just about to dial Daniel's number when he heard his cold voice from behind the building.
