Jett stared at his phone for a moment, his eyes darkening by the second.
He tightend his grip on the phone and gritted his teeth in anger.
Ten second later, he dialed Eric Lance's number.
The call connected a second later and the man spat out impatiently, "Come in."
Eric, who had been standing outside the door for the past one hour, immediately pushed open the door and strolled in, his hands clasped behind his back.
Jett didn't raise his eyes until Eric was standing right in front of him.
"Did you find him?"
He didn't need to specify who he was asking about for Eric to know.
Not even seeing the company's stock price plummet was enough to ruin Jett's day, but whenever that hacker stole from him, he was always so furious.
Not because of the money he had lost, but because he was unable to keep the hacker away nor was he able to get his hands on the person.
"None of the dashcam footages I gathered captured what he looked like. He seems to be an expert at avoiding cameras as he had his eyes lowered to the ground the whole time."
Jett gently dropped the phone beside him and raised a questioning brow, "Did you check if any of the videos were altered to look like it captured nothing?"
Eric nodded in agreement.
"I did and none of the videos were found to be altered. I also asked around in the dark web again, but no one still seems to know anything about him."
"The few who said something referred to him as a ghost who doesn't leave a trace whenever he attacks."
"They also refuse to hack him because everyone who has tried to do so was hacked into instead by him and given a stern warning that they'd have their private information on the internet if they tried to do so again."
Jett clenched his jaw tighter and hissed angrily, "That darn bastard!"
Eric immediately lowered his eyes to the floor and promised determinedly, "I will keep looking for him, Mr. Adler. No matter how good he is, he will slip one of these days and I'll be prepared to catch him."
He had already failed to find the woman from seven years ago whom Jett had been desperately looking for.
If he also failed to find this person who had been pestering Jett for the past few years, then of what use was he as his personal assistant?
Jett was yet to dismiss him when the door was suddenly pushed open and Daniel Adler ran in.
When Eric saw him, he bowed to Jett slightly and quietly left the room to them.
Daniel, who had rehearsed what he would say to Jett on his way to his room, suddenly felt his brain empty out seeing the impatient look in his brother's eyes.
He couldn't even bring himself to apologize for barging in.
Thud!
He suddenly dropped to his knees in front of Jett and clasped his palm together, rubbing them together pleading.
Since he couldn't come up with words to beat about the bush with, he would just shamelessly make his request.
"Please, unfreeze my accounts!"
Jett stared at him strangely.
"What?"
Daniel pressed his lips into a thin line as he repeated, "Please, unfreeze my bank accounts. I promise to be good from now on and I'll attend all my classes!"
"I will be on my best behavior and not cause any trouble for the Adler family. If I do, I'll report myself to grandfather!"
Jett stared at him intently for several seconds without saying a word.
Under his piercing gaze, Daniel's heartbeat quickened and he subconsciously stopped mumbling in his mind as he feared Jett would suddenly hear everything he was saying.
However, Jett scoffed lightly, "The new account I opened for you has a limit of ten million. A limit which I made sure to exceed when I handed it to you last week."
"You say you'll be on your best behavior, but being on your best behavior also includes managing your monthly allowance wisely."
Daniel squinted his eyes and sighed softly.
He had promised to let the triplets splurge and do whatever tbey want this evening, but he couldn't be rest assured they'd splurge comfortably with his card given he only had a few millions left.
Had Jett not freeze his other accounts, he would've had nothing to worry about. But now, he had to kowtow and beg him to unfreeze his accounts so he wouldn't disappoint the triplets.
In that case, he knew he had to put aside the little dignity he had left and beg his elder brother properly while answering his questions vaguely.
With that thought in mind, he placed his palms on his thighs and looked up at Jett with a docile smile.
"This will be the last time I disappoint you, big brother."
The more he begged, the more suspicious Jett grew of him.
His usually distracted brother was begging him so much, he wondered whah he needed the money for.
It couldn't be for food nor could it be for housing or clothing or even transportation.
A bold thought suddenly crossed his mind.
"Daniel, did you get a…" He abruptly paused and shook the question out of his head.
No, that was too inappropriate to ask.
His little brother was a grown man and was allowed to have a love life even though he didn't seem like one capable of.
With this sudden new realization, Jett decided to give in a little.
"I will unfreeze them, but if…"
He was still talking when he felt a gust of wind blow past him and glanced towards Daniel's direction only to realize he was no longer in the room with him.
Daniel stood outside Jett's room and felt his phone buzz in his pocket.
He slipped it out to see Keira had sent him a message from a group she had just created a few minutes ago.
The text read, "Uncle Daniel, since mommy will be with us today, why don't you bring your brother with you so we can make them run into each other and stage their meeting as a mere coincidence?"
