Chapter 46 - A Night in the Forest

The protagonist decided to follow the traces of Thorne, using his Maintainer's Eye skill to guide him. As he walked, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the forest. The protagonist quickened his pace, knowing that he had to make the most of the remaining daylight.

But as the sun dipped below the horizon, the system alerted him to the dangers of the night. "Warning: Nightfall has begun. Monsters will be more active in the forest, searching for prey. It is recommended to find a safe place to rest for the night."

The protagonist looked around, taking in his surroundings. He spotted a sturdy-looking tree with branches that were easy to climb. He decided to follow the system's advice and climb the tree to rest for the night.

As he settled into a comfortable position, the protagonist made some adjustments to his gear and closed his eyes, trying to rest. But the sounds of the forest at night were unsettling - the hooting of owls, the howling of wolves, and the rustling of leaves as unknown creatures scurried through the underbrush.

The protagonist's eyes snapped open as he heard a particularly loud noise. He looked around, trying to locate the source of the sound. That's when he saw them - a group of goblins, their eyes glowing in the dark as they moved stealthily through the forest.

The protagonist's heart skipped a beat as he realized that the goblins were headed straight for the direction he had been following. He wondered if they were connected to Thorne's disappearance, and if they might be the ones responsible for the struggle he had seen earlier.

The protagonist held his breath, watching as the goblins moved closer and closer. He knew that he had to be careful, that one wrong move could alert them to his presence. He remained frozen, observing the goblins as they disappeared into the darkness.
