The protagonist pressed on, his senses on high alert as he tracked the remaining goblins. He had taken down six of them, but he knew there were more out there. He had counted around 30 goblins in the village, and he suspected that more might have arrived from the hunt.
As he walked, the forest grew denser, the trees twisting and turning in ways that made it difficult to navigate. The protagonist's Maintainer's Eye skill helped him stay on track, but he knew he couldn't let his guard down.
After a few hours of walking, the protagonist caught sight of a group of goblins in the distance. They were scattered, some of them foraging for food while others seemed to be arguing over something. The protagonist's grip on his sword tightened as he crept closer, his heart pounding in his chest.
He took down the first goblin with a swift blow, and then the second. The others quickly realized what was happening and charged at the protagonist, but he was ready for them. With his sword flashing in the sunlight, he took down goblin after goblin, his movements swift and deadly.
Just as he was finishing off the last of the group, the protagonist heard a rustling in the bushes. He turned to see a new group of goblins emerging from the underbrush, their eyes fixed on him with a fierce intensity.
The protagonist's heart sank as he realized that the village had sent out a search party. These goblins were bigger and more muscular than the ones he had faced before, and they seemed to be better armed. The protagonist steeled himself for battle, his Maintainer's Eye skill flashing with warnings and predictions.
"You have received 20 MP from defeating the goblins," the system's voice echoed in his mind.
The protagonist didn't have time to process the notification, though. He was too busy fighting for his life.
