Third Person POV
It had been a full blown hour since the fight started and although he had managed to finally take out five of his assassins, that one guy with dangerous punches and three others were still up and going. Kale's vision was turning red as the cut from his eye lid started bleeding again and he clenched his fists tighter the muscle in his jaw jerking.
They charged at each other, Kale dodged another fatal blow throwing one of his own instead which sent the guy flying as he was also exhausted. Two blades came his way and Kale grabbed them cutting his hands in the process and squeezed tightly not letting the two guys go. They attempted striking with their other hand blades but Kale jumped up doing a flip so he was behind them still holding their hand blades and pushed his feet into their backs to break the pressure from his jump. Loud cracking noises filled the air as both their backs and arms were broken. They both passed out immediately from the pain.
Kale let go of their arms so their limp bodies fell down forward immediately catching a weak punch from the other guy breaking his fingers with his hands so the guy could only fall and squirm on the ground. He immediately kicked his head so it turned in a very wrong angle then stepped down from the bodies of the two other guys.
He went over to where he had dropped his school bag picking it up and staggering home in a daze as his vision was already obscured. All of a sudden, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen and looked down to see a really short guy holding a knife that had stabbed his stomach already.
Fuck, there was a ninth person.
He stared down at the person, his expression remaining unchanged as the person twisted the knife in his gut, blood seeped down from the corner of his lip, before he finally coughed out, a ton of blood pouring down. Kale ignored this and grabbed the little guy by the neck squeezing tightly as he held him up. And although some of the little guys kicks, which were supposed to free him, was aimed at the knife in his gut, Kale didn't stop applying pressure until the little guy's body went limp in his hand then he let it go.
Finally getting home, Kale, with a lot of cuss words pouring out of his mouth, struggled to unlock all the locks that kept his home safe before stumbling in simply pushing the door shut as he couldn't be bothered to lock it again. He collapsed on the floor immediately panting heavily. His skin was extraordinarily pale, his clothes were drenched in sweat and blood and God! Was he in unquantifiable pain!
Kale looked down at the knife in his gut and with a sneer, shakily pulled it out of his body his violently shaking hands tearing at him in the process. Once it was out, he flung it to one side of the room taking his phone out of his pocket right after. The screen was cracked but thankfully, it still came on. Kale's lips curved upward as much as the huge cut on it would allow as he was welcomed with his wallpaper pic. The picture of Avory he had gotten from the stalker.
'thank goodness she wasn't with me' he thought tapping on the phone icon dialing a number. The person on the other end picked immediately.
"Hey chump, thought you said you wouldn't be needing me" the deep baritone voice of the person sounded. Kale snorted although painful, "bastard, you think I would call you if I wanted to?" he muttered wheezing because of the pain from his gut. The person on the other end of the call was alerted by Kale's shakey response.
"What the hell happened to you ?" he questioned his voice laced with concern.
Kale smirked flinching in the process "are you worried about me?" He asked and the other person scoffed "oh hell nah. I was just asking!" He exclaimed awkwardly making Kale chuckle "yeah whatever, it was just a bit of a confrontation, don't worry about it" he muttered, "when the fucking hell was I worried?!" The person yelled making Kale's ears ring. He held the phone a bit farther from his ear, "well don't fucking deafen me about it, anyway, I need you to come keep guard for me" he informed making the other person huff.
"And what have I got to gain from that?" He asked although Kale already knew that the guy would come no matter what.
"A buttload of information on Qadar Louise" he answered making the other person gasp, "you fucking backstabber, planning to sell me out are you?" The person, Qadar by name, muttered incredulously and Kale pursed his lips suppressing a chuckle. This person never ceased to amuse him.
"What can I say? I'm very particular about my safety" he answered making Qadar huff "you're a fucking bastard, know that?" He muttered and Kale leaned his head back against the wall already slowly loosing consciousness, "yeah, well you and me both" he muttered as his hand drooped to the side before finally going limp making a thump sound as it landed on the floor beside him.

"Hey! Hello?! Kale what the fuck?!" Qadar yelled over the phone quickly getting up from his swivel seat. The guys, who were sitting at the other end of his wide high end office playing cards, stood up as well the six of them lining up and following closely behind him.
"What's up boss? Anything wrong with the kid?" The shortest one, who also happened to be the one in charge, asked. "Come on Lewis! As if anything could ever happen with that brat" one of the men, the one standing beside Lewis, quipped and the others chuckled at that considering his statement true. Qadar stopped walking, a frown settling in his handsome features and they all stopped as well, their grins falling right off their faces.
"Wait, something actually happened to the kid?!" The one who asked the question raised a brow incredulously. Lewis elbowed him in the side "no shit Sherlock" he muttered. Qadar resumed walking and Lewis followed. The others just pat the talkative guy on the shoulder.
"Take heart Jerry" the dark skinned one, Milo by name, muttered walking away, the others smiled pitifully at him also walking away and Jerry really felt like a snail all of a sudden.
The group drove out, Qadar, Lewis and Jerry in Qadar's car while the four others took a van. The air was filled with dust as the 1928 Cadillac Sedan and Volkswagen caddy drove out of the company building, Q Industries boldly written with huge metal letters atop the tall glass building.

....Same time....
Avory's POV
Well, Kale ditched me, I thought ruefully as I stood in front of the school gate awkwardly. I don't even understand how it took watching the school security guard chase me out of the parking lot to realize that, I mean it was freaking 6pm already!
"Hey little lady!" The security man called as he was locking the gates and I looked at him only to see him shooing me away, "go on, why don't you scoot on outta here" he said adding to my embarrassment. My cheeks flared and I huffed folding my arms as I stormed off.
The fucking nerve of that guy. A shame we're not allowed to do anything to humans. I thought pursing my lips. So powerless and yet so greedy their race is. Also, why did Kale ditch me? I thought leaving school together was now a thing? Is it because I asked him to come live with me? Oh the fucking virgin, taking everything so seriously. I bet he even misunderstood my reason for suggesting it. Before I knew it, my hand was already pressed down on his contact information dialing his number. I quickly cut it when I noticed though sighing in relief. He definitely doesn't know I've got his number, "thank goodness he didn't pick" I muttered putting it back in my skirt pocket.
On getting home, I met Dan frying some pancakes and I dropped my bag on the floor beside the counter going to sit on one of the bar stools to watch him.
"What's up Avy? How was school?" He greeted flipping a pancake in the pan. His outfit, which was just an apron, boxers and socks, was hilarious but it wasn't like I was gonna say anything.
"School was great. On the flip side, pun intended, why are we having pancakes?" I asked my words running out quickly as I snatched a hot pancake from the stack already piled up on a plate and stuffed it in my mouth with my fingers.
Pancakes were very special in my home as I never got to have any throughout my childhood. It was only when Dan got adopted and started cooking that I got to taste it and then, Dan was always busy so only made breakfast a handful of times. As a result, pancakes became the sacred dish only eaten on very special occasions.
"So why the pancakes?" I asked again after chewing and swallowing. Dan glanced at me smiling as he took out the last pancake and turned off the cooker.
"Well, we're celebrating a special occasion" he answered placing half of the pancake tower in another plate and pushing it together with a bottle of syrup towards me.
Times like this when he gives vague and obvious responses make me wonder how I put up with him. I rolled my eyes. "I know that already, what's the special occasion?!" I exclaimed pouring a ton of syrup on the pancakes.
"The committee has agreed to hold a meeting on the kid's impromptu accomodation" Dan answered rolling his eyes as he ate his pancakes plain, I don't know how he does that.
My eyes widened in pleasant surprise, "that's great news! Those bastards and bitch combo could never give two shits about a presumed saviour's safety let alone accomodation" I replied beginning to scarf down my drenched cakes. "I know, that's why I said we're celebrating. However, their condition is that we attend this meeting and make a practical viewing of the sites that will be suggested before we choose" Dan said making me quirk a brow. "So I have to skip school? For how long?" I asked stabbing my fork into the last cake and rubbing it all over the syrup in the plate.
"Avy, don't you get it? You're not skipping school, you're quitting school. After we decide the residence, we'll arrange a means to get him there and that will be that. The elder council is also after him so we'll have to be in hiding" Dan explained, my eyes widening with every word he said. Rather than being excited at quitting the stupid school like I had thought I would be on my first day, I didn't think I was quite ready to let go of that rare feel of normalcy.
Kale and I wouldn't whisper to each other during class only to get scolded sometimes, we wouldn't sit to have lunch together, we wouldn't stroll leisurely in a calm educative environment anymore, I wouldn't see him in his uniform again, God! He was always so sexy in it-
"-vy! Avy!" Dan's voice rang out drawing me out if my thoughts. My mind did a reel back and my face heated up as I realized I was only thinking about Kale. Dan chuckled seeing my probably flushed expression and pat my head "yeah yeah, I know you're excited. We leave tomorrow morning. Dad won't figure since he never pays attention anyway" he said completely misunderstanding. I am so glad he misunderstood. I nodded my head in understanding, "but just in case-" "confirmed he's got a long term mission this time, we're safe" Dan said cutting me short. I smiled, it was nice how he always knew what I was going to ask.
"So we go tomorrow?" Dan repeated as if asking me. I knew he was and my smile widened.
"Definitely"
