CHAPTER 17 💘 18
It's been three days since Neriah saw Lucifer. Yes,they lived under the same roof but she locked herself up. Lucifer took it upon himself to place her food at the doorstep and she picked it up.
He so much yearned to hear her voice and see her face which he secretly did by making himself invisible. He still wasn't satisfied,he wanted to see her at her own will but it seems like it isn't happening anytime soon.
Neriah stood up and went to the bathroom to have her bath. She came out in no time and went into the closet. Yes, Lucifer had gotten her different clothes,make up kits and jewelries but she refused to be moved by little things like that. None of them amounts to her freedom that was snatched away.
She went ahead and got dressed in a red gown and applied a little make up. She was done dressing and she inhaled sharply. She was done locking herself up.
She opened the door slowly and made her way downstairs.

Lucifer placed the food into a tray as he made to go upstairs when an overwhelming scent hit him. It's been a while he perceived this scent up close, the scent of vanilla and roses. He took in a deep breathe inhaling the scent as much as he could then he heard sounds of footsteps behind him.
He froze and turned back. His eyes met with that of the most enchanting woman he had ever seen. She was a goddess,his goddess. He stared at her blankly and a huge wave if emotion swam into him. Not just his emotions but also that of Neriah.
She was feeling uncomfortable with the way he was staring. He quickly looked away and cleared his throat. The last thing he wanted was to make mate uncomfortable.

Neriah could sense his nervousness and she chuckled at the sight of it. She thought he was the mighty Lucifer so how come he was nervous??
"May I take my seat?"she asked with a smile to ease the awkwardness.
"Yes,please do"Lucifer said nervously as he pulled out a seat for her and Neriah sat down. He served her food and quickly sat opposite to watch her.
"Wow! Peach honey grilled lamb chops. It looks yummy"exclaimed Neriah as she opened the first plate and a smile crept on Lucifer's face.
She said the same thing as she opened the remaining dishes. They were all her favorites. Meat stew,seafoods like shrimps,salmon,scallops and crabs. Her eyes widened as she took a sip of the meat stew. It tasted heavenly and she didn't hesitate to praise Lucifer.
"No doubt that you are the best cook I have ever met. You should open a restaurant"Neriah exclaimed and Lucifer chuckled in happiness.
"Am glad you like it but only you have the privilege to taste what I make"said Lucifer and Neriah blushed a little.
Lucifer watched as she ate and he kept on beaming like a fool.
"Now is the time I wish I can come out of you and give you a smack on the head. Rather than beaming,don't you know what to do?"said his demon and Lucifer frowned.
"What am I suppose to do? Can't you see that we've been forgiven?"asked Lucifer and his demon scoffed.
"Why do you think so? Just because she is eating our food or because she is speaking to us?"his demon asked sarcastically making Lucifer confused.
"What do you mean?"asked Lucifer.
"Human minds are the most complicated things on earth. She might have decided to let go of it but it doesn't mean she has forgiven you. She's probably tired of locking herself up all day."explained his demon and Lucifer sighed as he stared at Neriah who seemed carefree.

Neriah watched as Lucifer carefully placed the plates back to their original place and she could say that everything about him spelt the word "P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N".
He turned to her and took slow strides towards her as her heart beat loudly with every step he took.
Standing just few inches from her, Lucifer bent to her level.
"An I forgiven?"he asked sincerely and Neriah blinked her eyes as she couldn't say a word due to their close proximity.
"Get back from me"she managed to say and Lucifer stepped back. He was unaware of what effect he had on her but he could tell that she was hot.
"Are you okay?"he asked innocently and she glared at him before smiling. He was the reason she wasn't okay. The greatest temptation she ever came about.
Lucifer?? That name suits him well.
"So am I forgiven?"Lucifer asked again and Neriah's face turned solemn in remembrance of what he did to her.
"You aren't forgiven but am not mad at you anymore. I can't help but think you have your reasons but at the same time I want to see my family. I want to go home"Neriah said truthfully. Lucifer stared at her and he tried to read her thoughts but they were complicated.
He could feel how much she longed for home but he knew she didn't loathe him anymore.
"I will take you home"Lucifer said and Neriah's eyes widened in shock.
"But please give me three days. After three days, I will take you home. Just let me prove to you that am not the monster you think I am,please"Lucifer pleaded and Neriah stood rooted in shock.
Did he just say she had a chance to go back home?
But why didn't she feel excited about it?
She felt somehow sad
"It must be as a result of the mate bond and mark"muttered Neriah.
She would be crazy if she wanted to stay with him and not leave. She missed home truly but she also didn't like the idea of going back.
"Okay"Neriah agreed and Lucifer's hope shattered.
A part of him wished she wouldn't agree and will decide to stay with him but he guess that was it.
"This must be for the best"he muttered at he smile at her.

"Don't fucking tell me to calm down, Vanessa. It's been over a week and Neriah is still with that bastard"Nathan yelled as he hit his fists on the wall and Vanessa wasn't shaken by it.
"Will you fucking calm down? All of these isn't helping"Vanessa said calmly and Nathan scoffed.
"I can't. You felt it too,right? He has fucking marked her and in a matter of time they might complete the marking process. Am sure he is forcing Neriah into all of this. Oh my poor Neriah!"Nathan said as the image of Neriah flashed in his mind.
"But we still have a chance,they haven't completed the mating process yet and I bet if she will allow Lucifer to do it. That's if she feels nothing for him"said Vanessa and Nathan glared at her.
"How do you expect her to feel something for a monster? I know Neriah, she must be terrified to death now"Nathan barked angrily.
"Stop being angry. I already arranged a meeting with the vampires and we are meeting today"said Vanessa and Nathan smiled evilly.
"It seems like Lucifer's days are numbered"said Nathan and Vanessa twisted his arm with magic.
"Don't even dare think of doing anything to him. That's if you want your dear Neriah alive"Vanessa said sternly and Nathan whimpered in pain as he glared at her.
"Then pray he doesn't lay a finger on her till I get her back or else.."Nathan said leaving his statement unfinished as he left.
He felt like his sister can't be trusted anymore. He better seek help from another place and he knew the right place to go.
Vanessa watched as her brother left. His thoughts are so evil and she knew that.
"Am going to dispose you sooner or later after I kill that stupid Neriah of yours"she said with a smirk.
He doesn't expect her to keep Neriah alive after everything. She might pose a threat for her later as she was the destined mate of Lucifer and she doesn't like keeping threats around.
