Victoria's presence fills the room like a storm cloud, her polished composure at odds with the venom in her eyes. She takes her time, letting the tension mount as she surveys us from head to toe. The faint scent of her expensive perfume wafts through the air, sharp and suffocating.
"Well," she repeats, her voice silken but laced with menace. "I thought I'd drop by and see how the happy little alliance is holding up."
Alex steps forward, his towering frame radiating fury. "What are you doing here, Victoria?"
Her smile widens, but it doesn't reach her eyes. "Oh, Alex, must you always be so dramatic? I'm here to discuss the lawsuit. I thought it best to clear the air."
Lydia folds her arms, her sharp gaze fixed on Victoria. "If you have something to say, Mrs. Cardwell, say it. Otherwise, I suggest you leave. My client has no interest in entertaining your theatrics."
