The sound of Lydia's office door slamming shut lingers in my ears long after Victoria's departure. It feels like the air has been sucked out of the room, leaving a suffocating silence in its wake. My mind races, the blurry images from the video flashing through my thoughts like jagged shards of glass.

I can barely breathe.

Alex paces the room, his movements restless and sharp, like a caged animal. His fists clench and unclench at his sides, his jaw ticking with suppressed fury. I know he's trying to hold it together, but the storm inside him is palpable.

"She's gone too far," he mutters, his voice a low growl. "I'm not letting her get away with this."

Lydia doesn't look up from her laptop, her fingers flying over the keys as she types furiously. "We need to stay calm. Reacting emotionally is exactly what Victoria wants. If we lose our heads, she wins."
