Chapter 4 - Mr. Malfoy you have a client

Dago took down notes as he studied a golden bird that nested in a tree a few feet away. He watched it behave and care for it's eggs as they stared to come out of the egg shells.

There was a sudden Crack of thunder and lightning in the sky. He sighed putting away his notebook and the turned and hurried back to a utility locker. He knocked on it and used his wand on the door knob before he opened the door and walked inside a massive library.

A large core of energy stood in the middle of the library and a circular workstation desk around the core. He frowned as the core began to flicker and change colors.

"Bellatrix. Something is up with the core. What happened while I was away?" He asked.

"I'm in the shower, baby. I don't know what happened to it." Bellatrix said from somewhere in the library on the top third floor.

Dago sighed and walked over to the workstation right as a message window appeared on a window in front of the core. He stared at it.

Dear, Dago

We need your help. Your friend James Potter has gone missing and was assumed missing until he contacted Silver his son in a dream. He asked Silver to help him. He is imprisoned in a secret place he can't escape. We need you to return to the Hawks Landing.

Please. For old times sake. For your friendship with James. Return and find my husband.

Yours,

Mara Potter.

Dago hurried to his workstation and the switches came to life as he focused his energy to make everything ready. The sounds of a large gear turning was heard and suddenly feet came running.

Dago looked up as Bellatrix jumped off the top floor and flipping several times and landed on her feet neatly. She was dressed in cut off jeans and a tank top and hurried to her place at the workstation.

"Where or when are we going now?" She asked with a grin.

Dago smiled. "We're going home. James has in trouble we're going to the time and date the message was sent to us. Hang on tight. Library. Return to the time and date of the realm the letter was sent. Not a day late. Let's go!" He said and punched twitch activating the launchers for the library.

It was time to go. The library started to shake as his hands gloves and then they we're moving. The room twisted and turned. They launched upward into the skies racing at fast speeds. Dago laughed as he felt the rush of the ride.

But, just as soon the ride was over and they had arrived. He switched off the machine and put it into a safety lock as he heard a knocking at the door. He put on his jacket and stood at attention as the door flew open and Mara barged inside and stopped cold.

She stared at Dago. He stared at her. "Mara you look lovely as always." I said with a grin a genuine warmth and gladness to see his old friend again after so much time as pasted sense they last seen each other again.

Mara stared at his appearance. "You look the same. You don't look like you have aged a day sense you left." She said.

"Thank you. I exercise and keep my weight down. You sent me a letter about little Silver getting a dream from James. I'm here to help." He said.

Mara stared at him. "What happened to you. It's been years sense we last seen each other." She said.

"I did send a few letters back. I've been busy but I promise I'll try to keep you up to date. What happened Mara?" He said.

Mara snorted. "Damn. Your still the same. James was taken. Silver isn't little anymore. He's come of age and graduated from school. He works in the copy library in Hawks Landing." She said.

Dago smiled looking over her shoulder at two twin male and female that came toward him. He smiled at them. "Hello. Thank you for calling me. I'm here to help. Who figured out how to call me?" He said.

Silver nodded to him frowning. "I did." He said and studied Dago shaking his head.

"You don't look like your my Dad's age. You the same age you were in the archived window images. You look barely a few years old then me." He said in surprise.

Dago chuckled shaking his head. "I just look young for my age. Silver. You look just like your father at his early genius years. You look like you've got a touch his magic in you as well. I'm here. Let's get to work." He said before walked over to his white board and tapped his finger to it making writings on it disappear and he took out a strange metal device from his his pocket. He flipped if between his fingers and looked at Silver. "We'll work our way from the beginning to this point. When did James go missing?" He said.

Mara frowned but sighed and nodded. "Alright. Alright. It was eighteen months ago. It was right after Silver and Emily had finished their school studies and were preparing to look at what careers they were going to have. Emily, Silver and I went on trip to London for a break and some shopping. James stayed behind here to work on a project he had been finding frustrating for several months now. We came back and found he was gone. He expected he was on another mission for the court but after several days and we got no word Nick came and told us that James had disappeared. No one knows what happened to him. It was a few weeks ago when we finally got his peacemaker and staff returned to us that we assumed he was...well. I assumed our enemies had finally gotten him." She said.

Dago nodded and tapped his device on the white board and Mara's words appeared on the board and put in a box of text. He nodded as they stared at him. He looked at Emily. "The security cameras didn't record or pick up anything?" He asked her.

Emily frowned shaking her head. She pursed her lips. Dago nodded his head. "Go on! What are your thoughts?" He said.

"We've been having weird moments with the security camera snitches. They seem to be following flight patterns now where before I came remember when I was little they used to fly random patterns. They still took in the entire footage of the day just the moment when the Dago's snitch missed the moment dad was taken." She said.

"Emily!" Mara said to her. "Why didn't you say anything after all this time." She said.

Emily shook her head. "I didn't think it was important. I mean just thought of it now really because we know that dad isn't-" She said and stopped and looked afraid. She looked at Silver but he focused on Dago.

"It's another clue you can add to your investigation." He said.

Dago tapped the white board and Emily's words appeared on the board. The words were put in a glowing box drawn on the board. He tapped his device to his chin. "Can you call one of the snitch cameras here?" He asked.

Emily nodded her head looking pale and trying to get Silver to meet her eyes but he ignored her gaze to focus on the board. She put to fingers to her lips and whistled. A silver blue snitch flew into the library.

Dago held out his hand catching it and held it as it attempted to fly out of his grasp. He pointed his device at the snitch and a beam of energy seemed to cover the snitch in life for a second and then he let it go a few feet away but not before pointing his device at it. "Exploso!" He said.

The snitch was destructed as the spell hit it. Dago then turned and tapped the white board with his device and a detailed text paragraphs appeared on the board. He studied the words. Silver came to stand beside him.

"You made the Dago snitches." Silver said.

Dago nodded scanning the lines of the spell that had created the snitch. "I did make the snitch a long with a lot of other items sense my departure from the Potter Ranch. Hmm. Interesting piece of work isn't it?" He said.

Silver nodded. "Has it been tampered with? Is that why we don't have footage on my dad being taken?" He asked.

Dago sighed shaking his head. "Nope. I believe it is functioning as intended the only problem is this isn't my snitch spell engineering construct. This is the work of someone else. It looks like your going to need to do a total overhaul of your security systems. Sense I'm here will get to work on that to as we begin the search for your father." He said.
