Athan was just about to look away when she turned and looked at his direction her eyes meeting his. At that moment, suddenly felt like the world had stopped. He felt it was only them in existence.
Suddenly, he could feel like she was already standing in front of him. He could make out all her features and he could not help but be moved. It was actually the first time he felt his heart moved. He usually thought that it was dormant.
He stared at her and despite the fact that her cheeks were still shining from the tears she had cried, she was... cute. Her hair a rich and lustrous brown cascaded in soft waves framing her her face beautiful face.
Then as if on cue, a gentle wind came and blew her hair backwards revealing her full face. Her eyes appeared like dark chocolate with a captivating depth that made Athan's mouth water.
His eyes could not help but land on her slender perfectly proportioned nose that led to cupid shaped lips he had a desire to savor. Her skin which had a warm caramel tone appeared smooth and flawless.
Athan was not one to get easily drawn but he could not help the feeling that was swelling deep in his chest. He could appreciate her beauty but he could not let her in. He got back to his senses as he took a step forward heading towards her direction.
She also started moving towards him and she stood in front of him. She raised her neck and looked up to meet his gaze. She was 5'7. Athan once again could not help but smile when he saw her eyes. Why was he smiling? Damn it!
"I am not going to leave you here again on your own. I am leaving this regions soon and you are coming with me. Tell me your family and I will drop you there," Athan said the first words that came to his mind.
The girl suddenly teared up once again when he mentioned family. He could not help but sigh. He truly understood what she was going through. It was just that he did not have words to comfort her. Not that he was obliged to do so anyway.
She sobbed silently as she wiped her tears with the back of her hand. She had cried too much these past few hours. She looked away and walked to one of the bodies which was cut diagonally. She fell on her knees and took one of her hands.
She felt the body which had already turned cold and the tears she had just been trying to stop started flowing once again. She did not bother to wipe them for it was futile since they kept falling against her will.
She reached a golden ring on the severed arm and it disappeared in her hand. She kissed the hand not willing to let it go. This girl was like her sister and they were closest. She let go and went to the other body which was cut into two two symmetric halves and picked the one with a ring.
Athan sighed. This girl was just wasting time. He was tempted to leave her but the current regret he felt for not stepping forward to come and save them immediately was gnawing down his chest. Yes they were strangers but they had shown no vile intentions when they met or try to insult him which he respected them for.
If he left her behind and she died, he was sure that he was never going to forgive himself. It was getting dark with every passing moment and at this hour, the demons were usually rampant.
He could not let her waste any more time. He realized that she was taking the rings and he went to the two remaining rings and took them. He then came to the girl and removed the ring she was yet to remove.
He then forced her hand to release the cold hand and forced her to stand up. She tried to fight him but with her current state of mind, even shaking his arm was a child's dream. He did not even try to speak her out of it as he dragged her away.
She tried to shout and wriggle her hand out even tried forcing his fingers open with her other hand. Athan grit his teeth. Could she not just keep quiet? Could she not tell that she attracting the demons with her screams?
Finally, he had had enough. He dropped the broad sword and stopped. She too stopped and looked at him with vicious eyes that threatened to bore through his whole being. She thought that he was going to release her but he did the unexpected.
He removed his shirt and tore it biting one part with his teeth so as not to release her. She stared at him unsure of what he was doing.
"What are you doing?" She asked an ominous foreboding befalling her.
"Actions speak louder than words," Athan said not bothering to explain himself.
The sound of tearing cloth filled the air as Athan formed a strip. Without warning, he tied her first hand he was holding. He then tied the two hands together. He had thought that this was going to be enough but he realized he was wrong.
He was about to face the wrath of a woman. She started speaking and Athan regretted immediately. He had thought that dragging her with her hands closed was the best option but it seemed that he was wrong.
What he was supposed to tie in the first place was her mouth. He tore another piece from his shirt and pinned her down despite the fight she had put up. He realized just how difficult it was to close the mouth of a lady.
This was because even as he was tying the cloth on the back of her head, she had spoken twice the amount of words she had spoken when he tied her hand. He made sure that the knot was tight enough as he removed his knee from her back.
One could see the sweat on his face and the deep breaths he was taking indicating just how tired he was after the 'tough' task. Even after he had killing the orc, he was not this tired. He realized the true meaning of the saying that said 'Fear Women'.
He sighed and wiped the sweat with his wrist. He rolled the girl to face up but he almost had a a heart attack. Her gaze felt like it was cutting through his body. Her face showed that she had not given up. Very resolute.
Athan stood up proudly knowing that he had finally made a woman quiet. He then bent and picked her and lay her on his left shoulder. He then bent to pick the sword and left the remains of the shirt.
Darkness was already taking over. He could not believe he had taken that long to just pin her on her back and tie her mouth. But the result were open for all to behold or so he thought. It was not even after five minutes when he felt a headache coming in.
The girl started moving her legs and producing muffled sounds as she tried to roll herself from his shoulder. She almost fell behind but he was fast to hold her and stop her from falling.
Athan could only laugh at himself. Quietening a woman? What a joke! Was there a man who had done so be fore him? Of course not! Here he thought that he was the first man to do so...
Very laughable. It was then he realized that even when women begged for sex, they would still moan during the act. There really was no silencing that gender. He could only give up and let her do as she pleased.
She muffled and struggled still not giving up. It was not until they heard a howl of a creature in the distance that she went finally silent. It did not even take long before the creature stood in front of them.
The girl looked forward her eyes horrified. She became silent and gentle that Athan almost could not get through the contrast between them. She was finally quiet but could he take credit for her silence?
He sighed as he released the sword as it fell sideways. he then placed her on the ground as he drew his sword and faced the creature. For this creature which was still in the second stage, he did not even use much strength.
The creature appeared dragon like but it did not last a single strike. Athan sheathed his sword as he turned to the girl but he almost fell back as he stumbled backwards. He turned and came face to face with her.
Her eyes were wide open and the sudden appearance before him shocked him. Could she not just stay at the place he had left her? He felt his heart racing as he regained his balance. Truth be told, his chances of getting a heart attack if he continued to accompany her were no less than 100%. Only that such disease did not affect cultivators.
Women... He picked her up and placed her on his shoulder as he headed for the sword...
