At home I wanted to tell my parents about the trip to China, I was so scared about what their reaction would be. I just needed a bit more time to tell them. Sitting at my desk I thought I didn't look at the flight tickets. When were we going? I had been so excited and Bea probably also that we forgot about the when.
I was shocked. Our plan will go over two weeks. I didn't have much time and I had to tell Bea so she could make her bags ready. We were luckily already at the end of the school year and we could go directly. Still what would my parents say about me going to an unknown country. I never went there so they will not let me go I was very sure.
First I had to call Bea to ask her if she could go in two weeks. She probably could because she lived alone.
I first send her the information about the flight and then I dailed her number and I got her attention directly when she took the phone.
"In two weeks already! That's fast! I can go, but can you? You have to tell your parents as soon as possible."
"I know, but how?"
Bea sighed on the other side of the line.
"What about telling them first?"
"I am so nervous, but I will try tomorrow at dinner time."
"That would be the perfect timing."
Bea was clearly thinking about a plan B and I helped her with it.
Then I heard an "Oh" sound.
"Maybe we can make a powerpoint about the things that we would do?"
Bea suggestion was a really good one. "That really could help."
Happy that Bea came up with this idea I thanked her. "It's a really nice Idea. Let's try it. Thank you by the way."
I heard a lot jawn coming from Bea.
"I think we better go to sleep right? I go atleast to sleep. "Good night."
"Me too. Otherwise I will be a zombie by tomorrow. By the way, tomorrow I will start with the powerpoint."
"Oké, talk tomorrow. Bye, good night."
Then I put down the phone and put my pyamas on.
I just had to touch my bed with my bag and I fell directly into a deep sleep.
Suddenly I saw Hao Yang standing at my bed and calling me, "Come with me."
I grabbed his hand and we went into the picture he sent that same day. Then Bea came also in few. What was she doing here? I tried to get rid of Hao Yang's hand, but Bea was already seeing us holding hands. What do I do now? She was already running away and I tried to call her name, but my voice didn't seem to work. There was nothing, but my throat felt already so dry.
When I finally heard a noise coming from mound the light went on in my room.
My mom came sitting next to me on the sight of the bed.
"Jessica, are you oké? You were screaming all the time."
"Just a dream mom."
I know I had to tell her from China, but I wasn't ready. Still I didn't want to get haunted by these dreams anymore. I am going to tell her. C'mon you can do it Jessica. I told myself.
My mom was standing up to go back to bed, but I hold her back.
"Mom, wait, I want to tell you something."
I gathered all my strength and I started talking.
"Mom, I got a flight ticket from a friend to go with her to China. Can I go? Please!" I even used my puppy eyes to try to make her say yes.
"Let's talk about it later when you dad is also home from work. Is that ok?"
"I go in two weeks so I have to know the answer as fast as possible."
I saw my mom's mound agap and I already knew what she was going to say.
"In two weeks already. That's fast. Ok for me it's a yes, but I don't know what your dad is going to say. So don't get too excited."
"Oké I won't." I almost screamed it out to my mom.
I saw her eyes go wide open. "Sssst, your sister is still sleeping. Don't scream."
I put a hand before my mound. "Oops." I whispered.
My mom stood up from the side of my bed and went to the door. She stopped for a bit and then said, "Good night."
She put out the light and left me in the dark. Thoughts about the dream kept me awake.
That night I didn't sleep much. I just kept tasting and turning. Maybe I better sleep a bit till I feel better. Because the lack of sleep I also felt a bit nauseous. I went back under the sheets and tried to fall asleep.
It looked like it worked. I woke up by the time it was 2 in the afternoon. Someone knocked on my door and my fathers voice came from behind it. "Are you awake? Make yourself ready then."
As an answer I groaned and turned around for a few more minutes. Then I looked at my phone and it was full of Bea's calls. I guess I had to call her back now and then make myself ready.
I dailed her number and she picked up directly.
"Hi, sorry I didn't sleep much so I fell asleep late and I just woke up at 2."
Bea sighed. "How is that I am in the same situation and that the powerpoint is almost done and that all by myself. Oké, I forgive you."
I started laughing. "Can I see it, so I can check if everything is correct in the powerpoint?"
Bea laughed. "You don't know how well I know you right? Still I will send it to you."
I laughed and then I got an unexpected message.
