Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Preparation

Upon awakening, Lorian swiftly got out of bed, gathered his belongings, and prepared to leave the inn.

He had a quick walking pace as he headed towards the Moonlight Sanctuary. The sky was still a bit dark; the sun hasn't rose just yet, but the sky was still slightly illuminated.

As he approached the Moonlight Sanctuary, he saw a couple of people outside the building as well; just like him, they had been quietly waiting so that they could enter in first and get more benefits.

Most people had chosen multiple quests and most likely had overworked themselves and couldn't get up this early in the morning.

Lorian had profound knowledge that could easily allow him to complete these quests, which allowed him to keep up with his daily nessescites while maintaining great Path Progress.

As he walked up to the building, he quickly got in the small line that had formed; only around a dozen or so people had gathered here. Standing in line and quietly waiting until the building would open.

Lorian looked at the people in front of him; most of them were low-ranking Path Masters that most likely had gotten some easy-level quests and had completed them early.

Lorian looked ahead as he started to engage in a friendly conversation with the person in front of him.

The young man in front of him was a person who seemed to be in his early twenties. He had brown hair and a clean face; his appearance was ordinarily but held a spark to it that made him stand out.

Lorian engaged in small talk as he tried to pry information out of the young man. Lorian avoided any talk about paths or quests and instead asked about the situation around the city.

People naturally liked to talk and express their feelings. When Lorian asked this young man about what he thought about the situation of the city, the young man didn't disappoint and started to talk.

Lorian had a very polite tone but was at the same time very friendly, which made the man feel like Lorina was a long-lost friend.

Time had ticked on as Lorian paid attention to what he was saying, taking in all the information that he could get. After all, information was essential to survival in this world.

Eventually the Moonlight Sanctuary opened up, and the people were quickly let inside. In the building, there were tens of people working at counters. All you had to do was walk up and talk to them, and they would handle matters for you.

Lorian walked up to one of the workers there before handing over his token and the artifact that he had gotten, greeting him along during this time.

"Good morning; I'm just here to handle some matters." Lorian talked in a slow but relaxing and polite voice.

The male receptionist looked at the token before scanning it with an artifact on the counter. He quickly spoke to Lorian as he handed over 7 silver coins.

"Here is this for you and let me take a quick look at the quest." The receptionist spoke in a polite voice as he handed over 7 silver coins and used his mana to take a quick look at the quest's details.

After finishing looking at the quest details, Lorian handed over a small glass flask with all the Lumina Dew that he had collected.

The man quickly took a look at the glass and once again took out another artifact to overserve over the Lumina Dew.

After quickly confirming the contents were authentic, he handed over the prize, which was 50 silver coins, and quickly thanked Lorian.

After receiving the coins and quickly checking them, Lorian quickly headed over to the room with all the quests. More and more people had started appearing that was slowly filling the room up; sooner or later it will get crowded, and it will get extremely difficult for Lorian to have the same flexibility in picking quests.

Lorian quickly found multiple quests that he liked before picking them all up. He quickly took his leave before the room started to fill up and headed outside.

This time, instead of heading straight to the forest, Lorian wanted to look for a certain place, more specifically, sign up for an auction that was happening.

He had been saving up money for this specific auction; in about 5 days' worth of time, an auction will occur, and the materials sold in this auction will be very beneficial towards Lorian.

To sign up for this auction was very simple; the auction wasn't anything secretive; it only required a person to be a Path Master and put down a small deposit of 20 silvers.

Afterwards, they will give you a place and date for when the auction will start and tons of other options as well.

All Lorian had to do was find a building made for auction signups and quickly tell them his name and give them his deposit.

Lorian quickly headed towards a building, going inside and talking to a staff member. He handed them twenty coins before they started asking for his name and information.

Lorian had decided to just give him his name; nothing bad will come out of this auction; it was a simple and public auction that multiple Path Masters attended.

It wasn't even an auction of a higher level, so most people attending this auction will be either Rank 1 or lower.

Once Lorian had finished, he quickly got all of the details for the auctions that will be happening in 5 days. He took note of the time and place and quickly headed off, trying to complete the quests that he needed.

While Lorian started to head towards the forest, he quickly took a look at his current financial situation. It wasn't the best situation, but at the same time, it wasn't too bad either.

He had enough money to make some smaller purchases but nothing too extravagant; he had to make money fast, and of course the fast way would be just getting the quests complete.

His Path Progress could wait for now; the materials in this upcoming auction were seriously important to him and were something that needed serious consideration and emphasis.

For the time being, he had to completely disregard his Path Progress and instead focus on this.

He took a deep breath before firming his resolve. He quickly headed deeper inside the forest, making sure to be extremely careful and efficient.

Slowly but surely finishing all the necessary requirements for his quest and developing his financial gains.
