"Here is an unexpected Runic Material that we have gotten! It's called Dimensional Space Fabric!"
His words echoed throughout the room as the room fell silent.
"What's that? I've never heard of a Space Path Runic Material like that."
"I've never heard of it either."
Mummers and words could be heard throughout the room, and Morris the auctioneer could be seen standing within this layer of awkward silence.
"I know most of you have doubts, but this runic material is actually rank 2!"
The room suddenly filled with chattering voices again. Rank 2 Runic Materials were nice, but who in this room was actually a part of the Space Path?
Buying a runic material that wasn't a part of your path had consequences; only those with good reasoning could buy them.
Buying an unknown Space Path Runic Material was the same as buying a crumbled piece of paper. Useless and should be thrown away.
Even though Space Path was a path that can provide support and convenience to other Path Masters. What could one person do if they didn't know how to use this path material?
"The starting price of the Runic Material will be 500 silver coins."
Shocks could be seen throughout the room; this was extremely expensive for a runic material. With this amount of money, you could easily buy an artwork.
The same thoughts could be seen on everyone's faces,
"Who could be so stupid to buy this material?"
A moment of silence filled the room before a small voice called out,
"520 silver coins"
The room fell in deep shock; there really was an idiot among the Path Masters here!
Everyone turned around to see who the person was who bid on this material.
Numerous gazes looked at Lorian, and while he looked towards the stage, not even the slightest change of expression could be seen on his face.
The room fell silent before another person spoke out loud.
"550 silver coins."
Lorian was surprised but quickly calmed himself down. He had expected and planned according to this scenario.
This was the first change that he had seen during this life. Although it wasn't huge, it still might be troublesome.
Life couldn't always go according to plan after all; even though he had experienced this multiple times, there were always moments like this.
"580," Lorian spoke in a heavier voice, raising the price even higher.
"600," replied the other person.
"650," Lorian raised the price by a huge number; the other voice hesitated before replying back to him.
"680 silver coins"
"700." Lorian took a final glance and spoke once again; this time the person who was bidding against him fell silent.
The price was raised too high for him; even though he wanted the material, it would be stupid to go even further.
He chose to back off, not wanting to raise the price anymore. With a small count, the material was finally sold to Lorian; it had gone smoothly, with a small price increase that Lorian didn't mind.
He hadn't been expecting the material to be just sold to him after all; he couldn't be so naive here; he had to make sure to make backup plans.
The rest of the auction went as normal; no other changes could be seen here; the auction went exactly as his past lives.
The only change this time was that mysterious person who had bided against him. Lorian thought deeply as he pondered who this person might be.
After the auction, everyone got up and started to collect the materials that they had bought. Even though Lorian's actions were considered stupid and dumb by others, they soon forgot about it.
After all, they had their own matters to deal with; spreading this kind of rumors was useless. Path Masters didn't have that luxury of mindlessly spreading rumors like the mortals. They quickly got their materials and headed off to do their own businesses.
Lorian quickly grabbed his materials before heading off as well; even though everything had gone off without a hitch, there was still another problem.
"Where would you store this material?"
Obviously, he wouldn't put it in the inn; Rank 1 Runic Materials were fine, but Rank 2 could easily be detected.
Although he could conceal it for the time, beginning by using his mana and manipulating it in a specific way, the second he let go of it, the secret would be revealed.
Lorian took the material that he had bought before swiftly leaving the city.
He approached the city gate when the guards asked him in a friendly tone the reason behind him using the racist material.
Lorian had concealed it to rank 1 Runic material by using his mana for the time being. The second it left his lands, it would reveal its aura and show its Rank 2 Runic Material identity.
"I'll just be using it for refining my path." Lorian told the guards in a straight-forward tone.
This was extremely common after all; the guards didn't suspect a thing as Lorian left them. Lorian took his usual path as he walked away.
He walked at a fast rate before quickly running away to a safe distance where he couldn't see the guards anymore.
He ran at a quick speed, not trying to expend more mana. For now, he couldn't just simply stop and reveal the Runic Materials aura.
Even though the forest was big and Path Masters would most likely not find each other, you never know if a Path Master is nearby and detects the aura.
Lorian couldn't afford to slack off after he bought the Runic Material; he quickly ran and ran. breathing heavily as he finally approached a similar distance.
The same rock that he could use for his refinement was seen once again, and the beautiful lake that spanned in front of the rock could also be seen.
The aura of a Rank 3 RUnic Material could be felt from the lake, a deep, strong feeling of power emitting from the lake.
The water from the lake was a Rank 3 Runic Material but was still left alone; the reason for this was its mysterious powers and the difficulties of acucally finding a way to contain the water.
So far nobody has figured it out, but that could change in the near future. Lorian quickly set the runic material on the ground before grabbing the huge rock and slowly pushing it aside.
Under the rock, he had a hole already dug from the past couple of days, and he quickly placed the runic material inside of it.
He quickly pushed the rock back into its original place, leaving behind basically no trace of evidence.
The runic aura from the Lake of Sorrow covered up any traces of the aura of the Rank 2 Dimensional Space Fabric.
Now that one of his plans had finally been completed, Lorian looked towards the forest, quickly calming down after seeing nobody here.
If a Path Master were to see this, Lorian himself couldn't do anything back; after all, he was too weak himself.
This was the best method he had, and if it didn't work, then it didn't work. He could bear to lose money, but putting his life at risk was too idotic.
Lorian finally finshed and took a glace towards the lake of sorrow; now he had to focus on his next step.
Getting stronger.
