Seven's second day of learning ended after the Vanquisher Skills training, and he and Rolanda were asked to dismiss.
[You have gained 5% progression in your skill, Refuge.]
[You have gained 4 Evo Units.]
[Your Skill, Share is seeking permission to share the 4 Evo Units with your Vessel, Whisky. Do you agree?]
Seven flinched. "Huh?? Will I have to share the Evo Units I gained with my Vessel?" He quickly asked with furrowed brows.
[Yes. But this would be by your will.]
The Ultimate Evolution System replied.
"Ohh..."
Seven came to realize that he could share Whisky's Evo Units without Whisky's approval, but he would have to approve sharing his with the cat.
"That's satisfying," he smiled. "Well, I would like to take all. I think I need it more than him."
[Noted. All 4 Evo Units have been accumulated in your tally.]
[Evo Units: 6/100.]
Seven nodded with a look of guilt on his face.
MEOW!
"You are too greedy, master!" Whisky shouted.
Seven expected that reaction from a talkative pet like Whisky, but he really felt a bit guilty for what he just did. He knew that Whisky deserved to take a share, but he was sure that there were many more to come.
"Don't worry, kitty. You would have more next time," Seven said and continued walking to the dormitory.
Just then, a feminine voice called from behind, causing him to turn.
"Seven! Wait!"
It was Rolanda.
Seven let out a friendly smile and halted. Rolanda had stayed for a few moments in the learning hall to discuss some private topic with Miss Brie while he left lately, and this was why he was walking to the dormitory alone. Now that she was already done, it wasn't bad for them to head back to the dormitory together.
"Sorry, I had to disclose something to Miss Brie," Rolanda said, gasping gently after approaching Seven with a jog.
"It's fine. We should head to the dormitory together then," Seven said.
"Alright."
They both walked to the dormitory together while they conversed periodically. Seven was getting to like being around people at this stage, at least if it was only her, and Rolanda was feeling him as well. They both, somehow, discovered that they had almost the same cases and likes, which only made them closer.
When they were on the right spot to go their separate ways inside the dormitory, Rolanda stopped Seven from entering his room with an awkward tone.
"UHM, wait."
Seven quickly turned yet with a friendly smile.
"We have been nice to each other since the first day, why don't we become friends?" Rolanda smirked and said.
"Ahh, aren't we friends already?" Seven smirked back.
Rolanda suddenly blushed, the left side of her lips curling up.
"I don't mean the normal course-mate friend. I mean real closer friends," Rolanda explained.
It was now that Seven understood what she meant. However, his mind was filled with countless ridiculous thoughts.
'No, she is not asking me for a date, right?'
'No, that can't be!'
'Stop the silly, Seven! Stop!'
Seven tried to let himself out of this pool of thoughts in a second, scratching the back of his head.
At that time, Rolanda was already furrowing her brows as she sensed his weird reaction. Although she never said a word.
"Real friends? Yeah! I mean, that's cool," Seven finally replied. "We are the only students in this course so... We should be really close to each other. Especially when we go for the mission test."
Seven smiled at his course-mate.
"Okay then. Friendship acceptance appreciated," Rolanda clearly had a delighted grin as she spoke. She really was glad to be his close friend, but Seven absolutely didn't know why.
She is a wonderful young lady from a prestigious family... Daughter of the Iron-fisted Emperor precisely. Seven didn't know why she wanted to be so close to a nobody like him...
At least, even though The Hermes are a middle-class family, The Wenzel was still far higher than them in the planet's overall family ranking. In fact, the Wenzel Family should be in the top ten as Draco Wenzel is one of the strongest men on the planet.
Seven nodded at her speech as he felt a little delighted. Not everyone was valued by such an expensive figure in this world.
"Yh. Cheers to friendship," he forwarded his right hand to Rolanda for a handshake.
Without hesitation, Rolanda accepted the handshake with a smile.
"Cheers to friendship," she responded.
After their handshake, Seven walked into his room, and Rolanda did the same, to hers.
"Mehn, that palm was soft."
These were the words that crossed Seven's mind the moment he slammed the door shut. However, unfortunately, the moment he attempted to visit his bed, Whisky had an idea to disturb.
MEOW!
"Ahh! What would it benefit you to make me starve tonight?"
At that instant, Seven clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. He knew he should be heading to the cafeteria right about now.
.....
After weeks of hardcore training and practicing with Miss Brie, the students were now set for their first mission test.
Miss Brie already met the Dog-type students' lecturers, and they already got their students set.
"Don't see yourselves as some different beings in the group. Be free, be bold. Don't cause trouble; there will be consequences for that. If possible, make friends amongst them... It wouldn't be a crime if you work with them too."
This was Miss Brie's advice to Seven and Rolanda before they left the learning hall to join the Dog-type students in the university's field.
"As you all know. The university... Sorry, the government is unable to provide teleportation transport to the university, so we would have to travel to Sagemount by road," one of the Dog-type lecturers, a middle-aged man with scanty gray hair, said.
*Murmurs*
There was a sudden session of murmurs in the small crowd.
The three lecturers, which included Miss Brie, only exchanged glances for a moment and looked away.
"Be quiet!"
As if like a spell, there was an absolute silence at that instant.
Seven could only observe as he stood next to Rolanda. They were both silent and didn't even join the murmurings.
"This shouldn't be what bothers you all. You should be hoping to get the best score on the test," a woman, likely to be in her early forties, informed.
Most of the students nodded at that fact.
"Y'all need to be at your best in there, no matter what. And most importantly, you have to know that..."
The woman paused.
Everyone was left in suspense at that moment.
"The student with the highest Evo Units gained in the mission test gets the highest score!"
"YEAH!!!"
Hearing this, the students cheered as they were motivated. Everyone surely would feel nervous to confront a Vessel, but not after hearing that there was a great reward to that.
It wasn't as if they didn't want to gain Evo Units, as everyone would want to evolve and become an Advanced-tier Vanquisher, and even aim for higher ranks.
Seven and Rolanda only reacted with a smile that held a deep sense of readiness.
If they really want to achieve their dreams, then this was a chance to work it out.
It's about time!
