Chapter 20 - Sagemount

After the speech by the lecturers, they ordered the students to match to the university's bus unit. There were only two buses in the unit, which was already looking old just like the university itself.

The only fortunate part was that one of these two buses was newer than the other, visibly preferable for the journey.

"Okay. We are only thirteen in number, so it should be comfortable inside. Since there are twenty-eight seats in there, it is okay to take a one-seat distance," Miss Brie said this.

She was always being with the other lecturers this time as she had urged Seven and Rolanda to join the Dog-type students like they were in the same course.

Seven walked into the bus and quickly approached the extreme back seat row. Before he could even turn to figure out where Rolanda was heading, he suddenly saw her behind him at that instant. Rolanda casually walked in his direction and broke the order...

She didn't sit by a one-seat gap and only sat next to Seven.

Noticing this, Seven couldn't help but smile.

"What? Why the smile?" Rolanda noticed and quickly asked.

"Ah... Nothing," Seven shrugged and responded.

Rolanda decided to look away after his response... She was interested in looking around as they journeyed.

When the lecturers stepped in, the bus engine jerked to life, and the bus progressed out of the university gate, disappearing into the roads. At that moment, the students realized that the mission was set... But what bothered them the most were thoughts of wondering how Sagemount was.

While they journeyed, a young lady, likely to be sixteen years of age, raised her right hand above her head to signify her interest in a question.

"Yes, go ahead," the middle-aged who noticed her gesture spoke.

"Please, can we have some knowledge of what Sagemount is all about? What kind of Vessel could we see there, and how long are we going to be there?" the young lass asked.

The middle-aged lecturer nodded at her question and turned to the students behind.

"Alright. We were going to tell you all these when we get to Sagemount, but since you inquired right early, there are no issues with that.

Sagemount is the name of a city in the Greyshield Nation, but it's still the name of a mountain range in that same city. To be literal, the name Sagemount was derived from the mountain range which was also Sagemount.

There are many strange things about Sagemount which makes it one of the mysterious places in the North Province. In there, there are three stages of Vessel territories. The territory of the Starless to Star-2 Vessels, the territory of the Star-3 to Star-5, and the territory of Star-6 and Star-7 Vessels.

The boundaries of these territories are created by the Vessels themselves as they created a small wall of rocks around their territories. Anywhere you see a long short wall made of rocks, you have to know that you are entering another Vessel territory."

The students nodded.

Seven was listening attentively and was taking notes in his mind. These were some important pieces of information.

"Sagemount is full of countless mountains, and you would have to climb over many. But, that wouldn't hurt your aim. I believe your skills would be able to help you slay the lesser-ranked Vessels and help you gain Evo Units," the man smiled.

Then Miss Brie cut in.

"There is also one important thing you all need to know."

The students quickly switched their gaze to her direction.

"You shouldn't venture into the third territory no matter what. It's the deepest and the most dangerous part of Sagemount. I believe you all know that..."

The students nodded again... Well, no one wants to die.

Slaying an ordinary Star-1 Vessel was as difficult as hell, which they knew, and there was nothing that could make them try to confront a Star-6 Vessel, much less a Star-7.

"And most importantly. I believe you all know the rules. No one is allowed to vanquish a new Vessel without becoming an Advanced-tier Vanquisher... So, any Vessel you slay would have to visit permanent extinction. You only need the Evo Units and whatever that helps you improve your skills. Understood?"

The students were forced to nod again.

'Ahh... To think that I would ignore a Dragon-type Vessel when I found one. Never!'

This thought crossed Seven's mind as a slight glare appeared on his face.

'The system should be able to help me keep it a secret. Just like it did to the other skills I didn't reveal.'

He believed that since the system was able to help him hide the skills, then it was likely to be able to hide any Vessel he vanquished until he became an Advanced-tier Vanquisher. Although he had doubts about that, he was surely going to investigate.

But for now, he had to focus on getting to Sagemount.

The journey unfortunately turned out to be a long one as they spent over ten hours on the highway.

Surely, this is why teleportation transport is the best.

Again, the students have reasons to blame the Triple Order Government.

"So selfish!"

"No, it's pure wickedness!"

"They aren't ready to lose more than they gain, that's all."

"But DAMN! Do they expect to gain profit from poor youngsters like us? Aren't they supposed to give their best support?"

"It's enough! Quiet!"

Silence arose.

"This should be the last time I hear you guys talk about the government in this mission test. Be focused!" The middle-aged man warned.

Everyone decided to remain quiet until they arrived at Sagemount. They got past the main city, then into the countryside, and then to the deserted lands where mountains and a few trees occupied.

The university bus stopped at one point, not wanting to progress into the jagged pathways. After that, the students walked out of the bus one after the other.

"It's time, students. You have no reason to be afraid. We'll be watching closely at your battles. This mission test would be for three days, and we are going to be setting a camp somewhere safe enough...

Haa... It's already getting dark. So the mission test begins tomorrow. We only have to build our tent now."

The middle-aged man informed.

After that statement, the students were handed some tent-building materials which they brought with them from the university, and they walked into Sagemount with the middle-aged man taking the lead.

ROAR!!!

"W... Wh... What's that?!" A young lass panicked from behind just after hearing a thunderous roar from nowhere.

"Nah, don't worry. It's a Kong-type Vessel far inside the inner territories. Haha, we won't reach there," the middle-aged man spoke.

Everyone was relieved at that instant.

MEOW!

"That's sounds like my father's voice!"

At that time, Whisky was already going crazy inside the Vanquishing Space.

But it was impossible and ridiculous, a Kong would never give birth to a Cat.

'Just shut up!' Seven commanded.
