After Miss Brie had returned the skill-checking machine to the university's safety store, she walked back to the learning hall to begin her duty.
Although she had been stunned by the strange progression made by their pets, that doesn't mean that she would attack them for that or perhaps report the case to the Vice Chancellor. After all, he wanted her students to come out with flying colors at the end of the semester, which she knew would create a good name for her as well.
"Alright. Today you will learn the basics and characteristics of a Cat, also known as Feline," Miss Brie sat on a chair facing the two youngsters and began to teach.
"As you both know, cats are one of the wisest creatures in the world, and the Cat-type Vessels aren't an exception. Although it was unfortunate that they are weak compared to other Vessels, that doesn't mean that they are useless."
At this time, Seven and Rolanda nodded in agreement, trying to let out those burdening thoughts from their mind.
"With a highly improved skill, your cat can be treacherous even though you are unable to vanquish another Vessel. And most importantly, one thing you have to focus on is gathering Evo Units to evolve. When you evolve with your Vessel, you surely will get your physical and spiritual strength enhanced. You can only obtain the capability to use magic if you evolve to become an Advanced-tier Vanquisher, which is the sole reason you are here."
"By the end of your two-year stay in Black Star University, you should have undergone your first evolution to become an Advanced-tier Vanquisher, your pet should have evolved to become a Star-1 Vessel, and its skill at least D or C-level... Well," Miss Brie turned to throw a glance at Rolanda.
"You already achieve that. Now your goal should be aiming higher, maybe A or S-level before your convocation," Miss Brie blinked and said.
"And for you, Seven. You could aim for B-level since your golden-horned cat's skill is already E-level. Getting it to C-level wouldn't be bad either, but you have to work hard. There are going to be a lot of challenges all these times."
The students nodded at her words, believing that there were going to be challenges indeed.
Miss Brie decided to start up with Whisky's Clawplay because they would need to visit the fields for Rolanda's Six-legged Jaguar. Its skill was a running one, so practicing it in the learning hall was quite uncomfortable. Miss Brie stated that it would never improve that way.
She brought out what looked like a textbook from a shelf at the other corner of the hall, and walked straight to Seven.
"This is the Clawplay Improvement Theory Book written by the first ever Cat-type Vanquisher, Arthur Reinhard, in the 56th Century. Now in the 57th century, this book has been used by almost all vanquishing universities to train Cat-type Vessels with a Clawplay skill," Miss Brie explained.
"If you can focus on learning a lot from this, he stated that there is a chance of getting the Clawplay skill to S-level," she added.
"How about SS-level? Or maybe SSS-level?" Seven suddenly asked with a curious look on his face, sharpening his stare at the lecturer.
Miss Brie chuckled to his question at that moment, a casual look appearing on her face.
"Well, that is almost considered impossible. No Vessel had been able to reach SS-level with their skill, much less an SSS-level," Miss Brie informed.
However, Seven decided to shrug it off with a mutter.
'I guess I'll be the one to do that.'
After a while, Miss Brie urged him to read the first volume of the book, which talked about the beginner's guide to helping their Vessel improve its skills.
It took about an hour of reading before he was done, as the volume wasn't short at all. However, Seven was filled with fresh information which he believed made sense. While he read, Miss Brie was with another Clawplay Improvement Theory Book and was reading as well. Although she was done reading before Seven, she waited for him to finalize.
After that, they attempted to follow the first step:
[Sharpening.]
In the first volume of the Clawplay Improvement Theory Book (CITB), it was stated that getting sharpened claws was the best way to start up with the Clawplay skill improvement. Basically, it was relatable that a sharp claw was the main pride of the skill, and Seven knew that himself.
They walked over to a blocky platform at another corner of the hall. A thick-looking structure in the shape of a bear could be seen next to the block wall.
This block wall was just two meters wide and a foot tall, most likely measuring times two the height of Whisky. The bear structure was also measuring the same height as the block wall, so it was clear that it was times two of Whisky's height.
MEOW!
"Maybe I should be given a living creature to fight instead... This is foolish for me."
Whisky sounded inside Seven's head, causing a glare on his face.
"Why are you so eager for power?" Seven couldn't help but ask, although in his mind.
MEOW!
"Because I want to become the strongest Vessel in this world so you won't dump me for another in the future. I know your intentions, master."
Seven froze with a hint of shock.
"Ahhh... Whatever..."
MEOW!
"If you turn out to vanquish another Vessel, then it would have to fight me. If I defeat it, then you wouldn't have to vanquish another."
Seven heard this but didn't reply anymore since Miss Brie was already calling for his attention.
"Let it out," she ordered.
Seven nodded and summoned Whisky out of the Vanquishing Space.
"You'd better behave yourself out here, huh?"
MEOW!
"No one is an enemy here... It's fine," Whisky spoke while he appeared from the Vanquishing Space.
After its appearance, Miss Brie spared it a gaze for a few seconds and then returned to Seven.
"Your pet has such a vast ambitious aura. Impressive," she said.
"Thanks," Seven responded with a smile. Now he understood that he wasn't the only one having that feeling...
While they decided to begin the Clawplay Training, Whisky just wouldn't shut up.
MEOW!
"You see? This is why I must remain your only companion!"
