"Orion, tell me about her. Who is Lorianne?" She asked during dinner. She needed to know. It seemed Lorianne really didn't have a good reputation around here. Since she was going to be stuck here a while, she might as well know the whole truth. Orion dropped his chopsticks and stared at her sceptically. "Are you sure about that?"
"Yes! I need to know!" she insisted, it couldn't be that bad... Orion began placidly. "Lorianne was my father, the Late Emperor's mistress. She was nineteen when my father first laid eyes on her. It was a grand celebration, and she was amongst a troop of performers that day. He was immediately captivated by her after her performance and he strived to make her his mistress despite her commoner status. Having a mistress as the Emperor was no new thing, so no one really minded until... Until she got the brilliant idea that she could be more than just a mistress. She longed to be Empress, using the Emperor's infatuation with her, she managed to convince the Emperor to remove the Empress, exile his son and daughter and bring the whole Empire down to her knees" he rattled breathlessly. His lack of emotion sent shivers throughout her whole body.
Stunned, she asked sombrely. "Where is the Empress?" "Dead, she died a few days after exile." he replied, then continued eating. "And the uhm... Emperor?" she probed further. "I killed him." he replied curtly. She immediately dropped the cutlery. "Excuse me, I don't feel too good." she stood up abruptly and left the dining room in a rush. She had to hold her hand over her mouth to prevent herself from retching on the spot. Tough luck, she had ended up in the body of an evil, self-centered and power-hungry woman who caused so much pain and suffering to everyone around her. "That's her, right? "Yes, be quiet, she'll hear you." the maids in the hallway pointed and snickered at her. She bit her lip. "It's not you their snickering at." she hugged herself, she hadn't felt this loneliness in a very long while. Orion stared at the retreating figure and furrowed his eyebrows. Although the truth must have been hard to digest, she had to know the whole truth.
