"You can read?" he asked, pointing at the atlas in her hand. Most servants and maids were not educated. Surely only someone who could read would be able to know the type of books Miss Sasha needed. "Oh, well my mom used to be the Head maid so she was literate. She taught me to read and write." she smiled sheepishly. He noticed they were staring at each other for too long so he broke the silence. "We had better get the books to Miss Sasha. " he gestured to the pile of books they had both gathered. "Right, let's go."
Sasha skimmed through the books. So far she had gathered that this place was Aethoria which was sort of like the planet Earth. And so far only one continent is occupied, Valtoria, within it are the great four empires. The Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Empires. She was currently in the Eastern Empire and in Terraverde its grand capital. She had also discovered that everyone had mana. All creatures great and small possessed this energy. For normal people, this mana was akin to a tiny amber but for others, it could be as great as a bonfire. The greater the mana the more abilities one could have. All the abilities were connected to the forces of nature. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Void and spirit. These six forces controlled everything here in Aethoria and it fuels the mana of each individual. One didn't necessarily need to be able to control wind, fire or water. If a normal person was good at gardening then he or she had Earth mana or a person was a very good swimmer and had a way and connection with the water, then he or she possessed Water mana.
"Intriguing" she scanned the books thoroughly. "Can I send them back to my room?" She noticed it was getting late but she still had a lot to cover. "Ah yes, give them to me I'll go inform the scribe." Luc carried the pile of books effortlessly and made his way to the keeper of the library to record them. "Miss Sasha I'm done let's leave now." "Okay then, thank you." they walked out of the library with the books.
