The group made it back home victorious within the afternoon. They have indeed ridden most if not all of the main standing forces of House Yuseff out of the coast of Nahar.
This was well met, but another party could not occur so soon after the other. That would cause laziness and gluttony.
Forenus instead began to send word to Zerem, the capital and heart of Nahar, that they had succeeded in their goal and would return soon.
Forcas howled in the air with excitement as she got off her horse and playfully grabbed hold of Nasiah's waist, spinning him around in her arms as she laughed.
"Finally, look at that. You really did it. We're home free, and it's because of you. Hehe, you deserve all the praise and so much more~."
She rested her chin on his head, a grin widening from ear to ear. It was pretty impressive that, in her eyes, this child that they picked up suddenly became a skillful warrior and spokesperson. Perhaps what Forenus said about him being a child of prophecy was true after all.
However, he was still young and had a lot to learn in life. Even with all the power in the world, the need to know and understand stands above all. And Forcas was very much willing to teach him.
Nasiah smiled back at her. He raised his hands up and petted her ears, to his delight. "Thank you! It was thanks to all of you that I got this far anyway. Hehe, does that mean that we're finally at terms for peace, Sir Forenus?"
At the last question, he turned to face the Marquis, who was writing down a letter with great care on a nearby wall. This was to address his people for his return later on.
"Correct, from this moment onwards. We have fulfilled our agreement."
He himself turned to face Nasiah and took out his hand to shake, to which the boy returned with a sparkle in his eyes. "Thank you so much; I can't wait to be your king one day!"
Forenus smiled back. "I look forward to that day, Nasiah."
However, he still needed to be careful. The fact was that House Yuseff was definitely going to mount a counter-attack, and he needed to act fast.
The best course of action was first to reinforce his outposts once more. He was never going to get attacked off guard once more. Then, he was going to use his prisoners to bargain with the House.
He first needed to transfer the prisoners, especially the high-profile ones such as Jossel and Jaguar, to the capital. There, he can adequately communicate his message to the people and other managers who served under him.
He should do it as soon as possible; probably the best time would be tomorrow at the very earliest, or even the day after, as he would need time with paperwork. It was so that any chance that a counterattack would be made against them would be after they had time to defend themselves properly.
Forenus gave Nasiah a head pat. "You go and get some rest now. I have to do some important jobs right now."
Forenus turned to the rest of the group around him. "All of you are free to go now."
The soldiers all nodded at him. They bowed their heads and said their thanks as they left.
Musa turned his head towards the horizon, where the sun began to set. "I must meditate on matters once more. I shall be by the outskirts if any of you need me."
He himself needed to inquire the fates to understand their next goal and journey, especially since he saw that vision of the many men of House Yuseff leave. That was most curious.
Nasiah nodded with vigor. "Of course! Have fun meditating out there!"
Musa laughed and began to walk away. "You too, oh child of the stars."
And with that, he headed off to the border of the city, where he sat and concentrated on what the stars were trying to tell him once more.
That left Forcas alone with Nasiah, whom she was hugging quite tightly. "And then there were two~"
The young boy looked up at the hungry wolf, tilting his head with an adorable innocence and a smile on his face. "Yeah, you and I! Ehe, this is great; maybe we can ask Mother to join us!"
He looked out into the distance, finding his mother, who was currently talking to several of her maids alone.
She was currently in the planning phase of her goals. After having the announcement that most, if not all, of the soldiers of House Yuseff, had been run off by Nasiah, she knew that the moving day for the prisoners would be soon, possibly in one or two days.
Myrym had to act as soon as possible to have this plan off in a hitch. The men would obviously be transported via carriages for mass travel, with Jossel and Jaguar in their specialized carriages as well.
So she asked her maids and butlers to go study and find the carriages they would all possibly be brought in. From that point, she would have to find a way to sabotage and hide the fact that they were tampered with.
Forcas shook her head. "Nah, she looks busy; I think this is an adventure we should take on by ourselves~."
A grin grew on her face as she lifted the little boy up into the sky before she placed him on her shoulders for a piggyback ride. "I think we ought to look around, find something fun to talk about and relax."
Nasiah nodded, looking around the outpost. He remembered Myrym telling him that they would be leaving soon. It would be nice to have a small moment to unwind for a bit.
He patted and played with Forcas's ears, which fluffed and flexed. "Then lead the way!"
With that command, the loyal knight began to carry her so-called king around the base, savoring these moments together.
