David was pleasantly surprised and confused as he saw his Princess emerge from the outskirts alongside a strange and quite cute white haired girl, boy?
Immediately, he noticed something about them. The young one had mesmerizing golden eyes that acted like a kaleidoscope. It constantly shifted and changed, creating several patterns like fractals over and over again, like looking into the starry night sky.
It was clear that they were special, and the fact that they were with Myrym too, and she seemed pretty stable as well, without any signs of discomfort, was a great sign.
David knew very well that because of this, this child somehow protected her very well, especially if they were willing to go in front of Forenus with them.
He speculated that perhaps it was a sage due to how Magickal they appeared, as well as how seemingly pure they were.
Nasiah waved his hand to both parties, a smile on his face broad and clear. Forenus was stunned until he saw Musa with them in the distance. He probably told them of what was to come, but were they here to help?
Forcas was the first to break the tension. "What are you doing here, little man?"
She snarled at David, hand at the hilt, ready to be swung. To her, he was the foolish prince who dared to step foot in this land, and now they have a chance to take him out. If only her master would give the orders.
"I'm here to help and to give an agreement where we can all come out better." He placed his hand on his chest.
"Greetings. I am Nasiah, the future king of this world! And by my side is my mother, Myrym, the future queen. You may also know me as the Hyena of Nahar. I have come to say that you don't need to search any longer; we are here and will join you!"
Nasiah's words resonated throughout the entire encounter. Everyone except Myrym looked on in stunned disbelief and silence as she was already quite used to his strange antics.
David's mind began to whir. This could not be an ordinary child, thanks to their eyes and demeanor. Then came what he knew of Myrym; she seemingly had no proper male relations that he would have known could have produced said child.
This was all enough for him to realize that while true, something else must be going on for this to occur.
Now, the second part was more pressing. He claimed to be the Hyena, and studying everyone's faces, David knew that it had to be true. They didn't seem to be shocked at that reveal.
He then thought back to each and every moment that the Hyena fought. It was always noted how cheerful they sounded and how they spared others. At first, it was thought that it was simply because he was mocking them, but now he realizes it is sincere.
This must be why Forenus was hiding him away. Now, he was genuinely grasping the complete picture at hand. Each piece was revealed to him as he continued to play this game.
Forenus, meanwhile, was highly put off by his games, but he would not let that deter him. The only play on the board now was to give up Nasiah and Myrym. However, this was not a complete loss.
He still had the ability to bargain, just not with those pieces anymore.
"It seems that the terms of the deal have changed. You have what you desire, and more even, now shall you leave these lands?"
Forcas looked at Nasiah, a frown on her face and a growl on her lips. "No! You will not be leaving with them!"
She could not lose him now, not to those kinds of people. Those who bend and bow to a queen trying so hard to cling to the power she has and wants.
Instinctively, Forcas dashed in front of Nasiah protectively and raised her sword. "You will stay here and never with them!"
She huffed and snarled at David, who looked down unamused, but he returned his gaze to Forenus, who shook his head at his she-wolf to her dismay.
Nasiah patted her on the back. "It's not forever, for like the sun that sets, I shall rise once more and return to these lands anew. And I'll be even better for it."
He raised his arms into the air. "I shall come back anew, and all shall be part of the kingdom. When I return here, you shall be my knight."
The young boy then hugged her. A warm smile was on his face that glowed like the sun. It was a smile that she trusted, and so she sighed and just looked away.
"When you return, we shall meet on the battlefield. We shall see then if you are worthy to be my king."
Nasiah nodded along. "Will do. I shall grant you that fight and ensure it shall be the best one you ever have."
And with that, Forcas smiled and jumped back to her master's side, returning to her angry snarl that she had to David a few seconds ago. She knew however, that she still could do nothing but wait for her master to tell her how to act.
The prince shook his head at Forenus's declaration. "No, the original request was for you to free the prisoners. We shall not go back on this."
"Ah, then we shall agree on which prisoners you meant now. Not all are created equal, as you know. Your general and knight are worthy more than your men many times over. I demand more time with them to be given over to you."
"How much time would you desire for this ceasefire?"
"4 months. That shall be the time for the cessation of military activities on each other."
David thought it over as he hid a smile that formed in his mind before he proclaimed.
"Then so be it."
