Chapter 45 - Oasis's wisdom

"Here," he added, throwing a golden token with the wolf engraved towards Oasis.

"This is to show that you are a core disciple of the Bluemoon family. It is also a key to the defense array in the Bluefang Garden."

"From now on, that's where you will be staying while at the Bluemoon estate."

!!!

Oasis caught the token, looking at it with a mixture of awe and gratitude. "Damn, he doesn't even give me a chance to agree or refuse," he thought, a small smile forming on his lips.

"Gratitude, Master Bluemoon," he said aloud, bowing slightly to show his respect and acceptance.

Conri nodded, pleased with Oasis's response. "Take a shower, both of you, and then go and collect the pills from the 'Consano manor'," Conri instructed.

The Consano family is renowned for their expertise in alchemy and healing.

They are the largest organization in Verdantia when it comes to producing pills, rivaling the great families in strength despite not being one of them.

Their branches are spread throughout the entire kingdom.

As Oasis and Zane headed towards the Consano manor, Zane broke the silence. "Yoh, Oasis, you'll be able to see your sister. The last time she came to our estate was weeks back," he said.

"Yeah," Oasis replied.

"Oasis, I bet you want to be the strongest mage in the entire Verdantia, right?" Zane asked.

"You are right and you are wrong.Firstly I am a Martialmage, not just a mage. And secondly, not only in Verdantia but the entire realm," Oasis replied.

"A Martialmage? Never heard of that," Zane said, intrigued.

"Zane, you know when a mage learns swordsmanship and masters it, they are regarded as battlemage," Oasis explained.

"But what do you call a mage who can cultivate martial art techniques and is capable of using them?"

"Oh, so you're telling me you can use martial art techniques?" Zane asked, surprised.

"Yes, I can," Oasis replied.

"That's like cheating," Zane said, astonished.

"Let me tell you a secret, Zane. Mages use their mana within to manipulate the mana in the world, making their spells and techniques," Oasis began.

"But martial artists, through the cultivation techniques they use, transform the mana within to create their techniques."

"Basically, the mana within a martial artist depends on their cultivation technique."

"Meaning, if the cultivation technique is a water attribute technique, the mana absorbed from the world will have a predominant water attribute compared to other attributes."

Zane listened intently as Oasis continued to explain.

"But with me, there's an exception. I can store multiple attributes in my body when I absorb the mana from the world."

"Since the cultivation technique I use is a fire technique, my strongest spells and martial techniques are related to the fire attribute."

"However, I can combine martial techniques with spells. Just like when a battlemage channels their mana into their sword to use it."

"I can enhance my martial techniques with magic spells and vice versa I can enhance my spells with martial techniques."

Zane's eyes widened with less understanding but more admiration.

"That's incredible, Oasis. So, you can essentially wield the power of a mage and a martial artist simultaneously?"

"Exactly," Oasis confirmed. "It's a unique advantage that allows me to adapt and be more versatile in battles but i think it also has its disadvantages."

"But to me, I don't understand why there was a distinction between mages and martial artists."

"In the end, we are all just cultivators, manipulating the mana in the world," Oasis continued, his thoughts profound.

"Someone once told me," Oasis said, recalling Azura,

"the world is vast, and what we think we know is possibly just a drop in the ocean. He wasn't from Verdantia and didn't specify me as a mage or a martial artist."

"To him, it seemed like one thing we are all cultivators with different body constitutions."

"Zane, have you ever been to other kingdoms? What if this distinction between mage and martial artist is only used in Verdantia, and in other kingdoms, it doesn't matter? We are all just cultivators."

Zane listened intently as Oasis elaborated on his principles.

"Think about it. We go through the same breakthrough levels, and our rankings are the same."

"We all start from the zygote stage, and our mana heart develops in the Newborn stage's third layer."

"We can fly when we reach the Enlightened stage."

At this point, Zane was surprised, having never considered these perspectives before.

"In the end, in this world, strength matters. We don't choose how we are born or which body we are born with, but we choose the path we want to take."

"You can choose whether to be weak or strong. One only needs to understand their skills and talents and sharpen them instead of blindly sharpening everything," Oasis spoke with conviction.

"Because by the time you really need to sharpen your own talent, you will find that whatever you were using to sharpen has become blunt and can no longer sharpen."

"So, Zane, if you really want to be strong, first understand your strength so you can have a strong cultivation foundation," Oasis advised.

As Zane listened, something in Oasis's words struck a chord within him. Suddenly, he felt a surge of energy and began breaking through.

"Wow, I just broke through!" Zane exclaimed, elated. "Thank you, Oasis. I'm now at the fifth layer of the Foetal stage. Ha ha ha!"

Zane's joy was evident. He thought to himself,

"I've never heard Oasis speak so long. It seems he has always been holding back, and I always saw him reading a lot in the estate's mini-library for the past month."

"Is it possible for a person to be this smart by just reading a few books for a few months, or has he always been this smart?" Zane wondered

Oasis, noticing Zane's excitement, shifted his tone to a more serious one. "Be serious, Zane. You're excited about reaching the fifth layer of the Foetal stage," he said with a stern expression.

Zane looked a bit sheepish but listened intently.

"You're older than me by about two years, but I'm at the Newborn stage, second layer—a whole realm above you," Oasis continued.

"With these words, maybe he will train harder," he thought to himself.

Zane chuckled, shaking his head. "Not everyone is a monster like you," he admitted.

"But trust me, Oasis, if you slack off, I'm catching up to you," Zane said with newfound determination.

Oasis smirked. "Me? Slacking off?" he replied, the challenge in his eyes unmistakable.
