"Being with him makes me happy. The way he smiles when looking at me. Sometimes distant but warm. Makes me feel like I'm the only woman he can see . Well, same goes for me. He is the man I love after all. How I wish things will stay like this forever." , Mavis thought to herself.
Who would have guessed? Not every wish can be granted . But at least not immediately.
"Who is she? She looks familiar. She looks like... " she thought to herself.
She looked at him and she saw something she didn't expect. No, she saw an expression she never thought she'll ever see on his face.
She paused for a while and called his name calmly ready to hold his hand, "Danie...l...?"
"DANNY!!!!" She jumped on him , hugging him tightly.
"Who is she ? He let her hug him like that. Why? You never let anyone close to you like that? Is she special? Wait, maybe I'm thinking too much. " Mavis beat herself to not think too much about it.
But still, she couldn't shake the odd feeling she was having.
Daniel answered Lilian, " She's someone I know."
Mavis couldn't believe her ears, she couldn't say a word out loud. She was letf speechless.
"I don't think I have to say it out loud for you to understand, you already know what to do. He doesn't need you anymore. So make sure you stay as far away as possible from us." Lilian said with a mocking tone.
She who thought she finally found happiness got to know she was nothing but a substitute. Well, I guess light comes with a shadow .
Six years later.
Adorable sweet little voices was what she heard in her sleep, "Mommy... mommy, you're going to be late for work. Why does mommy's boss make mommy work overtime everyday these days? Or is mommy just a pushov....."
He covered her mouth and lowered his voice and said , " Shhhh, you idiot, it's Saturday today, let mommy rest"
There is always light at the end of a tunnel after all.
