Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: KILLING THE FATHER

Mavis asked, "Then what if they asked about their father?"

When Mavis asked that question, Dorothy thought she was getting through Mavis. She thought, whatever decision Mavis took, she will support her through them all.

Dorothy looked at Mavis and smiled mischievously and she then said with a serious face, "You don't have to worry about that. I'll help you with it. How about we just kill him? That seems like a great solution. "

Mavis was startled when she heard that, and it seemed like Dorothy was not joking. And that scared her.

She stuttered when she asked, "...W... w..what?"

Dorothy patted Mavis's shoulder and said, "Relax, it works every time. At least in the movies I saw. But don't worry, my plan will succeed. When the time comes and they ask 'Mommy, where is our daddy?'. You just have to act all pitiful and sob a little and say,

'Oh my little angels, Your daddy and I were so in love. But one day, a very scheming woman came and stole him from us. But heavens were on our side. When they were driving away together, their car got under the diesel truck. Witnesses said they both survived but before help could arrive the diesel truck exploded and they burned to death. It's a horrible story. Don't worry my sweet angels. Even though you daddy left us and went to hell with another woman, we still have his money and you can take it as if he is still taking care of you. Babies, don't be like them okay?.'

And your kids will grow up to be wonderful adults to respect their partners.

What do you think? Wouldn't that be great? They won't ever ask about their father again"

When Dorothy said that, she was really cursing Daniel and Lilian in her heart for the worst to happen to them.

Mavis was in hor when she heard what her friend was saying, she replied to her , " Are you crazy?! Look, I hate him to death but I don't think it's worth ruining my life over him. That's just murder, I can't kill a person neither can you. No, we shouldn't kill anyone. I don't want to go to jail."

Dorothy was a little confused. She asked, "What are you talking about? "

She paused and when she realized Mavis misunderstood her, she laughed , then continued by saying, " What are you thinking? No one will be going to jail. We are not killing them literally. We are just making up stories. You know , make up a story saying their father is in heaven."

At Daniel's house.

When Daniel got back from the company, the moment he stepped in his mansion he felt a chill all over his body and started sneezing. The butler ask if he was catching a cold. Daniel said it didn't feel like a cold but it would be a good idea to call a doctor in just in case. The chilling he was feeling at the moment was not normal. Then weather was not even that cold.

Back at the hospital.

Mavis was dumbfounded when she heard Dorothy say it's a made up story for the kids. She couldn't believe she believed that Dorothy could do something like this.

Mavis felt embarrassed and angry, she said to Dorothy, "Why did you make it sound like you were going to make it happen? I saw the look on your face. It was so dark that I felt like I could see that story happening right infront of my eyes. It didn't sound like a story to me. It sounded more like plan. Why didn't you just say 'let's make up a story' instead of saying 'let's kill him' straight to my face while being all serious. "

Dorothy looked away and stuck her tongue out.

Mavis continued and said ," What kind of story is that? It will just give the kids nightmares and they will grow up hating their father who they don't even know."

Mavis paused and asked Dorothy, "Wait, you keep saying "them". Is there more than one baby?"

Dorothy replied, " Did I not tell you already? The doctor said you are pregnant with twins. ...hmm.... I thought I already told you that."

Dorothy was sure that she told her that.

Mavis got quiet and then mood got back to being down again.

Mavis rubbed her belly and said , " I really am pregnant. I guess that's why it's been so hard to control my emotions. Pregnant emotional woman. No one can stand it, especially if they don't know the woman is pregnant. Maybe it would have been different if he knew."

Dorothy replied to what Mavis said, " Mavis, do you think if he knew you were pregnant he wouldn't have been this terrible to you?"

Mavis was startled when Dorothy asked her that question. She was disappointed with herself for having that thought. Trying to use the kids to gain a man's sympathy. What if he did not want them and forced her to abort them?

Mavis got her thoughts together and said, "No, I was just saying. I will never use my kids to gain a man's favor. "

She continued, "About what you said earlier, I think you were right. I shouldn't make a decision this important so hastily. I think I will sleep on it. In the morning I'll make the decision. Of whether I keep them or not. "

Dorothy stood up and hugged Mavis and said, "Good. You should rest. I will come back tomorrow morning. I should give you some space. I'll bring some change of clothes for you. Think seriously about it. I hope you make the right decision ."

Dorothy left and went home .

Mavis laid-back on the hospital bed, she held her belly with care. She didn't have time think about what happened with Daniel and Lilian. This was a moment that could change her life forever. She thought about what to do about the babies. She looked at every possibility. She fell asleep while thinking about what to do.

The next morning.

Dorothy came back to the hospital. When she got to the ward, she found Mavis sitting patting her belly while humming a sweet melody. Mavis seemed to be in a good mood. Dorothy could guess what Mavis's last decision was. She felt happy about it.

Dorothy asked to confirm, "Are we keeping them?"

Mavis smiled widely, "I thought about it and you were right. Having them in my life is a blessing. And I don't think I can bring myself to get rid of them. They are part of my life and I love them. So, let's kill their father. No, I'll kill him myself. In a good way."

Dorothy was happy to hear that. She gave Mavis breakfast and clothes to change.

Mavis was then discharged and they went to Mavis place. They made plans about going abroad. They booked tickets. Dorothy decided to leave together with Mavis. There was nothing holding her down in this country. At first, Mavis was refusing on Dorothy tagging along, but she couldn't win. Dorothy had every reason in the world to convince Mavis. Mavis was glad that she won't be alone in this trip.

Mavis called her mother and explained to her what was happening. Her mother was not against Mavis leaving. She supported her. Mavis's mother felt guilty about Mavis growing up without a father. But she made sure that Mavis never felt that empty sit of a father in her life. She loved Mavis a lot. Hearing what had happened from Mavis, she hated rich people even more. She advised Mavis to stay away from Daniel. And that one day, a man who will love her and her children will appear. So she shouldn't lose hope . She even said that she will help her find a suitable partner. But of course Mavis refused and said it was early to think about that. Mavis's mother told Mavis that she will follow her abroad before Mavis gave birth. That way she will be able to help her in every way she could. Mavis was grateful to her mother. She understood why her mother wanted to be there for her when she give birth. She did not what her beloved daughter to feel alone when giving birth. She didn't want Mavis to experience what she did. So the final decision was Mavis's mother will follow them abroad in a few months.

When Dorothy and Mavis were packing, Dorothy picked a black card in Mavis's wardrobe.

"Hmm? A black card?"

Mavis looked at it , thought for a moment, and asked, "Where did you get that? I don't remember having one of..... "

She suddenly remembered, "oh..... I remember now. It was that time when Daniel borrowed me a jacket. I wanted to wash the jacket so I threw the card somewhere, so it was in the wardrobe all this time? How weird. Break it and throw it away."

Dorothy pouted and said, " Before breaking it, how about we go shopping first?"

Mavis answered immediately, "No!"

Dorothy begged, "Please, he broke your heart and you're just gonna let it be like that? It's a black card, I bet he won't bleed even if you bought the whole mall. Come on Mavis"

Mavis was not convinced, her reply didn't change, "No way."

Dorothy got an idea and said, "I bet he's waiting for you to make a move. And if doesn't see any movements. He will get people to look into your recent movements. And guess what he might find out? A woman pregnant with children , who might possibly be his , and that woman is planning to go abroad. What do you think will happen? "

Mavis paused and thought a lot about it, she thought that could be possible. But she still did not want to spend Daniel's money.

Dorothy pushed further, "Who knows what he might do, he's ruthless after all. What if he makes you give birth, after that , he kicks you out alone. And your babies start calling Lilian mommy."

Mavis got annoyed and said , "What?"

Dorothy continued, "I was thinking, if we went shopping with his card, he will think you're just taking your anger out on his money. He's rich ,I think he'll let you be . At least for a while since he ruined your career. Think about it, if he think you're venting, he won't look into you for a while. He said he wanted to talk to you later right? We don't even know when is later . Let's make him think you're still angry by spending more of his money. And when we stop spending, he'll contact you thinking you're calm. When he does, we will be long gone."

"What if he blocks his card?" Mavis asked.

Dorothy answered, "Then, we return home."

Mavis got up and said, "Let's go for a spar first."

"Yay!!!!" Dorothy celebrated. She then thought, ("If you don't block it, I'll bleed you dry Daniel ")
