As the soldiers and SWAT officer went out, Yuqin sat down and continued on eating her breakfast. She had a feeling it was Han Rong because their height was similar and they both had broad shoulders. She was thinking about it when Meiling tried to get her attention.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked while looking into Yuqin's confused expression.
"That SWAT officer, I think it's my fiance, Han Rong. Why else would he check me and not the soldiers?" Yuqin looked at Nathan and Sean. They both agreed.
"That was strange as well. If it's your fiance, then it would make sense since he didn't want other men to touch you." Sean replied while Nathan continued on, "I agree, that SWAT officer is suspicious. But anyways, we have to hurry up. The meeting will be starting in fifteen minutes."
Yuqin checked the time and she tried her best to be quick.
"Nathan, don't rush her. Yuqin, be careful not to choke. Take your time." Meiling looked at Nathan annoyingly.
After they finished breakfast, everyone was required to meet in the meeting room. As everyone got seated, they went with their groups and listened for further instructions. Yuqin's group and another group of members were required to go on a bus that directly drives them to the port. While the rest of the people were grouped into medical group and logistic group. They went on to a separate bus that leads them to a base that's closer to the rescue location.
Yuqin and the others arrived at the Bashariq port and went through security check. Two soldiers led the groups to a nearby one-floor building.
"This place is quite small." One person said.
"Yuqin, are you going to be okay? If not, I'll let Sam know." Meiling asked her while feeling a bit worried.
"No worries, I'll be fine. Let's go and change. They can't wait forever." Yuqin and Meiling went to the female changing room. While the others went to the male side.
"Can't believe we're the only two ladies here." Meiling slightly laughed.
"Well, isn't that good? Less drama overall." Yuqin smiled at her. Meiling agreed.
They both wore their special swimsuit, black waterproof uniform, essential vest, helmet with oxygen tube while the oxygen tank was provided for them. As the guys got ready, they went onto the boat while Meiling and Yuqin made their last check before heading to the boat. On the boat, there were other special navy officers, few military personnel, and a few SWAT officers.
"Why does it feel like we're going to war?" Nathan leaned over to Sean and he looked at him and replied, "I know, right?" Yuqin and Meiling remained silent while looking at the sea. The breeze was cool and the weather was clear with no cloud.
Just then, the same SWAT officer at the hotel looked at Yuqin again. This time, Meiling tapped on her shoulder.
"Isn't he the same SWAT officer at the hotel?" Yuqin looked over and looked at him. Indeed, it was the same officer.
Yuqin went over and sat beside him. She looked at him and said, "I already have a fiance and I'm already taken. If you are interested in me, there's no chance." Just then, the SWAT officer took off his mask and black sunglasses.
"Really? There's no chance?" He looked at Yuqin and smiled. Yuqin almost fell over and she grabbed the handle. She couldn't believe her eyes.
"I-I thought you were out of town? Why you're here?" Yuqin was surprised to see Han Rong on the boat. She cleared her throat and remained silent. Meiling came over and said, "Do you know him?"
Yuqin nodded, "He's my fiance." Meiling nervously chuckled and greeted him.
"Yuqin, he looks so handsome. How did you get him?" Meiling whispered to her. Yuqin told her to be quiet. Han Rong checked his watch and Yuqin looked at him again. She had to make sure she wasn't hallucinating.
"Do I have something on my face? I remembered I washed my face this morning." Han Rong felt his face and looked at Yuqin. She was still looking at him and asked, "Why are you here? You still haven't answered my question."
"I was called here. That's all you need to know. How are you feeling? And how's our little one?" Han Rong looked at her with longing. Yuqin smiled, "Doing well." After ten minutes, the boat suddenly stopped. A few of them looked in front and they saw a ship coming towards them.
"Yuqin, stay behind me." Han Rong stood up and went in front of her. After the soldiers surveyed the ship, they gave a thumbs up.
"No terrorists found. They're not on that ship. We weren't able to spot the people we needed. The people on there are illegal migrants who wanted to cross the border to have a better life. There were young children, seniors, young women and men. All of them were wearing thin layers of clothing, some of them are sick and hungry. Suddenly, the ship that held the illegal migrants had smoke coming out.
Memories flooded back to Yuqin when her group was assigned to rescue people from a sinking plane. Meiling and the others got ready and Yuqin did the same. They waited until they were given a green light.
All of sudden, some people jumped in to the sea without wearing a life jacket. There were no life boats on the ship either. Yuqin watched as more people jumped in. The navy personnel got ready to jump in and Yuqin's group received the green lights. Meiling notified Sam who was at the navy base control centre.
Han Rong looked at Yuqin and held her hands tight, "Yuqin, will you be okay? You still have time to think about it." But Yuqin made up her mind, she wasn't going to give up. She wanted to rescue those people and give them a chance to live even though she won't be able to control the end result but at least, she doesn't want to see anyone to die. She thought about her unborn child and said, "Stay strong, my child. Mommy will be going down there. Hope you won't give me any troubles." She looked at Han Rong and firmly nodded.
"I'll go in. Han Rong." She held his hand tightly one more time and slowly let's go.
