-Haruka POV-
"Tch. Better than me? If you feel that I'm a bad man, then I think you should know this. Instead of me, my brother is the worst." He said it bluntly, not even feeling guilty. How could he say that to his own brother?
SLAP!!!
I could not hold my anger any longer, so I slapped him on the cheek. It's not too hard, but it's enough to make this guy in front of me realise what he just said.
"You dare to slap me, Mr. Auclair. I'm telling you this for your own good. In fact, I know my own brother better than you!" He raised his voice, making me startle. He grabbed me by the collar and pulled my face towards his.
"What are you doing? Let me go!" I tried to push him away, but his power is greater than mine. I can feel his face getting closer and closer to mine. Our lips are just an inch away.
Please, what did I do in my life to deserve this? Right now, I have no strength left to push him away. I just want to cry right now. Without realising it, my tears fell on my cheek, and I'm sobbing right now. I feel like he slowly released my collar. I don't want to look at him right now.
"Tch. Yeah, you're right. I should not meddle with your private life because I'm no one. Me doing this just makes you hate me more, right? Then just…." His phone rang, interrupting him from finishing his words.
"Hello Edward." He answered the call. It's Edward Schaeffer.
"Yeah, I'm free tonight, what is it?" I listen to their conversation silently.
"The usual bar? Okay, I'll see you there at 8 then." Is Levi Ackerman just accepting Edward's offer? He had always refused Edward's invitation to hang out, but why now? He then turns to face me.
"Well then, I'm off. I'm sorry for everything." After saying that, he just left without even bothering to wait for my reply first. Is he really angry with me now? Why would I care now? This is what I want.
-Two weeks later-
It's been two weeks since the incident between me and Levi. Since then, he doesn't even talk to me unless it's about work. When he had meetings outside the company as well, he didn't even ask me to follow him, he asked Sophia instead. In these past two weeks, I can count how many times we have actually talked. Is he still angry about that?
"Senpai, what are you thinking about?" Louis' voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Ah, just thinking about the project." I smile at him, and he smiles back. I've been in love with him for three years now, but why do I feel like something is missing between us?
"Alright then." He just nods his head and continues doing his work.
Suddenly, my phone lit up for a while, showing there was a new message. Who could it be? I take my phone and unlock it. A message from Hanabi. I opened it and read it.
Hanabi: "Oni-chan, we're going to have a small celebration for Harry tomorrow since he just finished his study in the UK. Make sure you come, it would be better if you spent the night here tonight, though.
I smiled after reading the message. Sorry, I'm not going to sleep there tonight because I'm so lazy. I quickly replied to her message since I'm free right now.
Me: I'll come tomorrow, not tonight.
Hanabi: Oni-chan is so mean. Just come here tonight.
Me: I don't want to because I'm too lazy. Besides, the main residence is too far from here.
Hanabi: You're always making excuses. It'll only take 30 minutes to drive here!"
Hanabi: *Sticker attached.
I laughed at the sticker she sent me. This kid never changes.
Me: I'm sorry your trick isn't going to work anymore.
"What are you laughing at, senpai?" Louis asks me to make me look at him.
"Ah, it's just Hanabi texting me." I smile and put my phone back on the table.
"Why is it?" Louis looks excited. Every time I mention Hanabi, he wants to know more.
"It's just that we're having a small event tomorrow to celebrate Harry, who just finished his study." I said, putting aside my earlier thought.
"Can I tag along?" He asks, his eyes sparkling, hoping I will say yes.
"I'm sorry, Louis. I would love to, but it's a family event, so I hope you understand." I said softly, do not want to hurt his feelings.
"Okay then." He looks down. A bit upset.
"How about I treat you to dinner tonight?" Trying to persuade him, I just came up with that idea.
"It'll be okay anywhere I want?" He asks for confirmation.
"Yeah, anywhere you want." I answered with a smile.
"Alright! You cannot take back your words later!" He grinned.
-Haruka's home-
Ahh, I'm exhausted. Seriously, I didn't expect Louis to want to have dinner at the bar. He even drank too much and needed me to bring him home myself. But why did he need to drink that much, actually? Is he really upset that I said he couldn't tag along? I can't believe that, kid. Luckily, today is Friday.
TING!!!
A message? Who would it be at his hour?
Bro Hanaka: I told Hanabi to tell you to sleep here tonight, but then even Hanabi failed lol. Make sure to come tomorrow. There's something I wanted to talk to you about.
This time it's Hanaka aniki. What did he want to talk about? Please don't bring up the heir again.
Me: Alright.
With that, I put my phone on the table and made my feet move towards the bathroom. I need to shower.
-Auclair Residence-
"Haruka oni-chan!" Tch, it's Hanabi. She approached me and hugged me.
"You're late, oni-chan." Hanabi pouts, making me smile.
"I told you it's a long way from my house, and it's the weekend, so there's a lot of traffic." I push her gently. Just playing around. She pouts again. I just smile.
"So, is everyone here already?" I poked her nose.
"Yeah, everyone is inside except for Jessica and her family. They're on their way. Oh, it's Jessica!" Hanabi runs towards someone who is behind me.
I look back, and it was Aunty Kayla and her family. Jessica is their daughter, the one Hanabi is hugging right now. Before going inside, I smile at them.
"Brother Charles, you're here." A voice spoke from behind, and I looked back, it was Harry.
"Hey, welcome back and congratulations." I patted his shoulder while smiling at him.
"Thank you, brother Charles. You helped me a lot, too. Come on, everyone is in the main living room." He said to me as he walked towards the living room.
"What about my brother?" I really don't want to meet Hanaka nii-san right now.
"What about me?" A voice spoke behind me.
