-Levi POV-
"William." I look at the person that Mr. Auclair spoke to.
William? I look at the man standing beside Hanabi Charlotte Auclair. Damn, he's so tall. A tall man with blonde hair and blue eyes. Who the heck is this guy?
"Yo, Haruka. It's been a while. Well, let's take our seats first, shall we?" He brought us to the table, where he and Hanabi had been sitting for a while. We take our seats there.
"What are you doing here, William?" Haruka asked, and I could say that he's not really pleased to meet him. Did something happen between them?
"Who are you?" This time I asked, glaring at him but making sure no one but him noticed.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm William Anderson, a professional engineer from the US who has been hired by your company to monitor the progress of the new hotel. It's an honour to meet you, Mr. Levi Ackerman." He extended his right hand to shake hands. I don't really want to, but I need to be professional. It's a business matter.
"Didn't we already have the professional engineer for that Director?" Mr. Auclair looked at me, waiting for an answer. Ah, I almost forgot.
"Now that you mention it, I just remembered that my father told me our engineer had an accident last week and is still in a coma. I did hear that there will be a new engineer assigned, but I don't know the details since I'm not in charge of that project." He's the one my father mentioned before, if I recall correctly.
"Really? I thought I was going to work with the executive director and, of course, Haruka too. Too bad, then. But it's okay. I also accepted the offer to be the engineer in charge of the new project in July. I've heard that Mr. Director, as well as his secretary, will be in charge of that project. Luckily, that was your birthday month, we can celebrate it together, right, Hanabi?" He looks at Hanabi and smiles. This guy is really good at acting, why doesn't he be an actor instead?
"Of course we're going to celebrate oni-chan's birthday together!" Hanabi smiles brightly. She is indeed the cheerful one. Speaking of Haruka's birthday, it's on July 24th.
Haruka sighed, glaring at William. Seriously, what's going on between these two?
"Hana-chan, can you order me the food? Two spaghettis, one with seafood, and two iced Americanos." With a smile, Mr. Auclair asked.
"Alright oni-chan." She smiles brightly as she takes Haruka's card and walks away. Two spaghettis and one with seafood? Is it for me?
"Now, tell me what you are doing here exactly?" Mr. Auclair spoke. His voice and expression are cold.
"What are you talking about? As I said earlier, I come here for work." That William bastard chuckled, ignoring Mr. Auclair's glares.
"I'm being serious here, William. Why did you even know about the project that will start in July?" This time, Mr. Auclair is really pissed.
"As I previously stated, I have received an offer." His voice is soft, but I could feel the tension there.
"Oh, should you say you offered yourself instead because you know I'll be working on that project also?" His voice is still as cold as ice.
"As always, you're as sharp as ever." William smirks. I wanted to punch him right now if I could. But wait, why am I just listening to what they're talking about here?
"Enough of all this. If you come here to work, be professional. And may I ask, what is your relationship with Mr. Auclair?" After being silent for a few minutes, I decided to talk.
"Ah, I guess Mr. Levi Ackerman here doesn't know about our relationship. Should I tell him, Haru-chan?" He winks at Mr. Auclair. This guy, did he just call Mr. Auclair Haru-chan?
"William, you bast….."
"I'm done with the order. It should arrive soon." Hanabi comes back to the seat before Mr. Auclair can finish his words. She returns with a plate of cake under her arm. No wonder it took longer than expected. She gave back the card.
"Thank you, Hana-chan." Now his voice is very soft, and his face is also very calm. I guess Mr. Auclair can also be an actor.
A few moments later, our food arrived, and I just dug in, as did Mr. Auclair. I guess we are both hungry.
"Btw, Hana-chan, you're finished studying, right? So, what are you going to do now?" That William guy really tried very hard to get attention.
"Yeah, and I'm going to do an internship at my family hospital for 6 months before officially becoming a surgeon there." Hanabi being Hanabi. Just smile as always. If I look at her closely, she looks a lot like Mr. Auclair with her blue eyes.
"As expected from Hana-chan! So, when do you plan to begin?" William keeps talking, but I could see and feel Mr. Auclair's cold vibes. This is not good.
"Let's see. My grandfather said I should start next week. So, it will be next week then." Hanabi replied like usual. It looks like she didn't even notice the atmosphere she was in right now.
"You still have many days left then. What about we go catch up together another day?" That's all there is to it. I'm sure Mr. Auclair is at his limit right now.
"Miss Auclair, you're friends with Lauren, right? Have you told Lauren that you're back?" I finally said that before Mr. Auclair could say anything.
"Ah, yes, I haven't told Lauren yet. Actually, I wanted to surprise her. We haven't met for a long time. But, Mr. Ackerman, how did you know I've been friends with Lauren? You know, because you never cared about any of us before." Hanabi looks at me, confused.
"Ahh. It's because Lauren did mention you before." I did tell the truth, though.
"Ah, I see. Well, okay then. Btw, Hanabi is fine, Mr. Ackerman, I'm not like Haruka oni-chan." She grinned.
"What do you mean you're not like me?" Mr. Auclair glares at Hanabi, but not the serious one.
"Nothing. I'm just kidding, oni-chan. Well then, I should go now. Look at the time it's almost 2. See you at home, oni-chan, make sure to come back home today!" She finished her caramel latte before leaving. Tch, I guess the bright one is always like that.
"Well then, I think we should go also. I have a meeting after this." I looked at my watch to see the time. I just finished eating.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Well then, William, let's not meet each other again." William stopped Mr. Auclair as he stood up from his seat, ready to leave. This bastard.
"At least give me your number, Haruka." He plead.
"I don't see the need for me to give you my number, and I thought I told you eight years ago that there's nothing between us anymore." With that, Mr. Auclair left. 8 years ago? Seriously, if I'm not mistaken, he's still in the UK.
"Try again next time, but I suggest you shouldn't." I smirked at him and followed Mr. Auclair from behind, don't even bother to look back at that bastard, William.
Luckily, the lift just arrived on the ground floor, and I am able to go up with Mr. Auclair. Only the two of us are in the lift, so I take this chance to ask him. I look at him, but he's busy with his phone.
"Mr. Auclair, who is he actually?" I asked and he is clearly taken aback by the question.
