Our story starts with our mc arriving to earth in a spacepod. Like in the original Goku was found by grandpa Gohan who decided he would raise the young saiyan.

Kakarot being the young, wild and feisty saiyan infant that he is would fall of a cliff and hit his head. However in this timeline a change would occur rather than just turning peaceful and losing his memories of his parents and race he also split in 2. His soul, personality and potential were divided(smt like Kami and demonking Piccolo but still different) which would normally be impossible for a saiyan.

Overtime the more peaceful persona(Goku) took full control while the more saiyan like ruthless yet not completely evil(Kakarot for simplicity) became more dormant buried deap within likely to never be seen again. Eventually the potential that was split from Goku would be increased as he grew, trained and further nurtured his own growth. And while Goku didn't know it, his experiences were still linked and shared with his other persona Kakarot. What Goku learned was also transferred to Kakarot. Hence the originally split seperate potentials would grow to the same height as they originally would've yet due to unique circumstances it would be separate.

Goku would traverse his journey as originally and grow at the same pace at the start he would struggle a bit more than in canon with a lower power level(8 instead of 10) and growth due to his split potential but after his potential increased through training and natural growth he started to grow at the same pace as intented.

In this way all events would take place starting with his first journey with bulma. Followed by his training with master Roshi and befriending Krillin then the world martial arts tournament, the red ribbon army, demon king Piccolo, training with kami, Piccolo jr and even marying Chichi.

Occasionally some parts of Kakarot would reveal itself(Think of when goku battled demon king Piccolo and the great ape was behind him or in Z where Goku suddenly gets serious in certain moments.). Eventually Gohan would be born and in this timeline he would be slightly stronger with a slightly higher potential but not a notable increase. This is due to Goku having a split potential both being equal to his canon self.

Everything would go as in the original with the saiyans and namek until Goku turned ssj. When Goku turned ssj his persona mixed in with his and drew in on his saiyan instincts and anger after which he would try to get control throughout the fight with Freeza and would be successful. In the short timeframe he had slowly started mastering ssj though he still had a long way to go. For once Goku felt something to him it felt different yet familiar he seemed to remember a part of this feeling from his previous fights like with demonking Piccolo though it had never felt as strong as it did now Goku was almost overwhelmed by the somewhat new feeling.

After dealing with Freeza he rushed to try and find a way off of the exploding planet. He tried Freeza's ship desperately punching all the buttons yet it wouldn't work. Not wanting to waste any more time he abandoned Freeza's ship to find another way out maybe one of the pods the ginyu force used to arrive to namek. After desperately searching he found a pod and quickly started dialing(slamming whichever you prefer) random coordinates.

After flying through space he arrived at the coordinates. A planet called yardrat. The people there treated his wounds and welcomed him after finding out he defeated the tyrant Freeza. After recovering he was called by the elder of the yardratians Pybara. He would thank Goku for killing freeza and the ginyu force and would offer goku to learn some of their techniques.

In this sequence of events Goku would learn instant transmission faster than originally, while also getting a better grasp on ssj. During the training process he would learn to control his energy and spirit better. And it's here where he would feel his inner persona mistaking it to be simply the anger or primal self that would takeover when he turned ssj or perhaps even the supposed great ape. For now he decided to ignore it to be able to turn ssj while not giving in to it. As a result not only did Goku gain further control over ssj and learn instant transmission but also learned the basics of spirit control. Which exponentially increased his combat abilities and the strength of his attacks.

After this most events would proceed the same with Goku making more progress in the hyperbolic timechamber. And growing marginally stronger than originally. Gohan would also grow stronger than his original due to his slightly increased potential. Goku this time would fair far better against Cell than his original and with his basic form of spirit control combined with his full powered point blank Kamehameha he almost killed Cell and would've had he mastered spirit control more. However cell would just regenerate and return to full strength.

He would follow his original self and forfeit then telling Cell how his son would go next and that his strength surpasses even his own catching Cells interest. This would go as originally with Gohan going ssj2 and getting overconfident,leading to Cell self-destructing and goku sacrificing himself and finally to Cell dying after losing the beam struggles to Gohans Kamehameha with the help of his newly deceased father along with the other Z fighters.

7 years later and the start of this story is finally approaching.

During the 7 years Goku had been training diligently without pause. As it turns out the afterlife has a place filled with warriors who retained their bodies after death and achieved great deeds such as defending their planet or galaxy. It's here where Goku would meet pikon and participate in yet another tournament.

Over the years Goku would continue to grow stronger and stronger and not too long after his death he even broke through too ssj2. Over the years of training with king kai and sparring with pikon occasionally and even learning techniques from other dead people such as the metamoran brothers Goku would breakthrough to ssj3. With each breakthrough Goku would give in to more anger and saiyan instincts in his forms. The power made him more and more arrogant as he transformed further. As such he slowed down on trying to accend further too gain more control over himself in all his forms.

The time was apraoching for the next world martial arts tournament and Goku caught wind that his son Gohan would be participating. Goku exited by the prospect of meeting his friends and family again and fighting in a tournament decided to ask fortune teller baba for a favour and quickly informed Gohan of the news.

On the day of the tournament everyone was arriving one by one. Gohan and most of the Z fighters had already arrived and were looking for Goku eagerly. Excited to be seeing their old friend after so long. Finally they spotted him coming in their direction from among the crowd. Gohan waves and calls out to him to come over. Fortune teller baba leaves but not before reminding goku that he has 1 day and no more. Goku reunites with his friends and his wife chichi where he meets his youngest son Goten who is hiding behind Chichi and then rushes envelopes him in a passionate hug and Goku then places him on his shoulders.

The group proceed to register for the tournament all the while the onlookers eye the strange newcomers. The z fighters also spot a suspicious duo who they plan to keep an eye out for.

Everything goes as planned up until babidi posseses Vegetas mind. Yet before doing so he notes that there's also some evil he can use deep inside Goku as well however it's to deep within for him to posses he tries anyway and is unsuccessful. However he does bring out the persona a bit which is slowly awakening inside of Goku it's only a matter of time. The first signs are evident after babidi teleported them back.

Vegeta shot a ki blast at the audience and challenges goku to reclaim the debt that Goku must pay. Goku gets serious and accepts. The supreme kai Shin tries to stop then warning them of the much larger threat that is Buu but it all falls on deafs ears as he ignored. He tries to stop them himself even putting his own body in the middle to block them after which Goku raises his hand and charges a ki blast telling him to move. Everyone is shocked even Gohan exclaims how his dad isn't acting like himself. Shin steps out of the way and the 2 are then transported to a wasteland for their fight during the fight vegeta uses underhanded methods to get the upperhand and succeeds. Vegeta is currently winning the fight.

After awhile Buu is released and both Goku and Vegeta can sense it. Buu's energy is immense the 2 don't know if their strong enough to fight Buu by themselves. Goku proposrs they stop fighting for now and focus on Buu. Vegeta reluctantly agrees after which Goku rushes to pull out a spare senzu bean from his pouch but unexpectedly he is hit in the back of the head by none other than vegeta. He reverts to his base and hits the ground with a thud the pouch with the senzu bean falling out of his hands in the process. Vegeta bends down and swallows the senzu bean leaving Goku to fight Buu by himself.

What he didn't realize however is that the blow to Goku's head was just the trigger needed to fully awaken goku's alternate persona Kakarot. The roles were reversed now it was goku taking the backseat being dormant and Kakarot being in control.

While Goku was laying there unconscious Vegets was engaging in a battle against Buu realizing that the only way to beat Buu was by destroying him so completely that it would render his regeneration useless. He decides the best way to do that is to charge up all his energy and release it by self-destructing.

Quickly spotting his and Kakarots son, he tells Trunks he's proud of him and hugs him before quickly chopping him on the head and knocking him out. Followed by Goten's surprise and anger and further followed by questioning but he isn't given a chance as Vegeta knocks him out to and gives them to Piccolo who he sees flying in the sky, he tells piccolo to take them far away and tells him what he plans to do then asking if he'll ever see Goku in the afterlife.

Piccolo responds and tells him that with all the bad deeds he's done in his life he'll most likely be going somewhere completely different where he'll be cleansed in hell. Vegeta accepts it and piccolo flies away with Goten and Trunks in his arms.

A massive explosion envelopes the area. However Buu still regenerates much to Babidi's joy. They proceed to go around with Buu turning the people of a city into candy and devouring them.

Far off in the distance Goku is slowly waking up. He wakes up with his head throbbing in pain. It's not Goku but Kakarot!
