It was a warm afternoon, and Ai and I were sitting at an open-air restaurant, enjoying a rare break. The soft sound of background chatter mixed with the clink of cutlery, as we sat across from each other, basking in the sunlight. Ai had gone shopping earlier, and now the bags were neatly stacked beside my chair.
Ai was the first to speak, her tone playful. "You really did a number on me today, huh?" She said, teasing, as she raised an eyebrow at me, her fingers idly playing with the edge of her drink.
I leaned forward, resting my chin in my hand as I observed her. "What do you mean? I was just making sure you don't get too caught up in all the serious stuff. We need moments like this, right?"
Ai smiled softly, her eyes glinting with affection. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
