Leo stepped through the portal and into the bustling courtyard of Aichi Symbiosis Academy. The school was a fusion of traditional Japanese architecture and modern facilities, a blend of ancient and contemporary that seemed to pulse with its own energy. Students in various uniforms and outfits moved about, chatting and laughing, their conversations filled with both casual banter and intense debates over the latest battles and school events.
He adjusted his attire—a sleek black jacket with a hood, black pants, and gloves—drawing curious glances from the students as he made his way toward the administration building. His long, flowing hair, a mix of white, silver platinum, and ruby red, caught the sunlight, creating an ethereal glow that added to his enigmatic presence. His wings, though partially hidden by his jacket, flickered with shifting colors that complemented his appearance.
As Leo entered the administration office, the receptionist—a stern-looking woman with short, spiky hair—looked up from her desk. "Can I help you?" she asked, her tone neutral but with a hint of curiosity.
"I'm Leo, the new transfer student," he replied smoothly. "I'm here to finalize my admission."
The receptionist's eyes widened slightly. "Ah, you're the one who fought Rin earlier. That was quite a spectacle. Please, have a seat. I'll notify the headmaster."
Leo took a seat in the waiting area, observing the room. The walls were adorned with various awards and photographs of past students. The ambiance was both formal and welcoming. As he waited, his thoughts drifted back to the earlier confrontation.
After the clash with Rin, Leo had seen Nomura collapse, blood staining his uniform. Without hesitation, he had rushed to Nomura's side, helping him up and supporting him as they made their way to the nearest school infirmary. The halls of the academy were bustling with activity, students either preparing for classes or discussing the latest events.
In the infirmary, a kind-hearted nurse with glasses and a warm smile tended to Nomura's wounds. Leo stood by, watching with a mixture of concern and curiosity.
"Thank you for helping him," the nurse said to Leo, her tone appreciative. "We don't often see students step in like that."
"It was nothing," Leo replied modestly. "I just didn't like seeing someone getting hurt."
Nomura, still groggy but awake, looked up at Leo with a grateful expression. "You didn't have to help me, you know. I could've handled Rin on my own."
"Maybe," Leo said with a grin. "But it seemed like you needed a hand."
Nomura chuckled, wincing slightly as the nurse applied a bandage. "I guess I owe you one. Thanks."
As the nurse finished up, Nomura extended his hand. "I'm Nomura Fudou. It's nice to meet you, Leo."
"Nice to meet you too," Leo shook his hand firmly. "I'm Leo. I'm new here, just transferred in."
They spent the next hour chatting about their backgrounds and the school's unique environment. Despite the pain, Nomura was in high spirits, and Leo's easygoing nature made the conversation flow smoothly. By the time Nomura was ready to leave, a budding friendship had formed.
Back in the present, the receptionist returned with a slip of paper. "Everything is set. Your schedule and dorm assignment are ready. You'll be starting in the same class as Nomura."
"Perfect," Leo said, taking the slip. "Thank you."
As Leo exited the administration office, he spotted Nomura approaching, still in his school uniform but looking much better after his rest.
"Hey, Leo!" Nomura called out, waving. "Glad to see you're settled in."
"Hey, Nomura," Leo replied with a smile. "How are you feeling?"
"Much better, thanks to you," Nomura said, grinning. "I wanted to thank you properly. How about joining me for lunch? There's a good place near the school."
"That sounds great," Leo agreed. "Lead the way."
Nomura guided Leo up to the rooftop of the main school building. The door to the rooftop was a heavy metal one that creaked open to reveal a spacious area with a few benches and tables, surrounded by low walls that provided a panoramic view of the city below. The sky was clear, and a gentle breeze rustled through the air, adding to the serene atmosphere.
They set up a picnic-style spread on one of the tables, unpacking various homemade dishes and snacks that Nomura had brought along. The setting sun cast a golden hue over the school grounds, making the view particularly breathtaking.
"So," Nomura said, taking a seat across from Leo. "What do you think of the school so far?"
"It's impressive," Leo said, taking a sip of his drink. "The environment is really unique. I've never seen a place quite like this before."
Nomura nodded. "Yeah, it's definitely different. Most people either love it or hate it. How are you adjusting to the whole 'armed girls' thing?"
"It's definitely interesting," Leo admitted. "I'm used to dealing with challenges, but this is a new kind of challenge."
Nomura chuckled. "You'll get used to it. Most of the students here are either skilled fighters or have their own unique abilities. Rin is one of the toughest, but there are plenty of others who are just as formidable."
As they ate, their conversation flowed naturally. They shared stories about their pasts, their goals, and their thoughts on the academy's unique system. Leo found himself enjoying the camaraderie, and Nomura's easygoing nature made the conversation engaging and fun.
"So, what brings you to Aichi Symbiosis Academy?" Nomura asked between bites. "I mean, besides the obvious fact that you're a new transfer."
Leo smiled, contemplating how much to reveal. "Let's just say I'm here for the experience. I've always been interested in unique challenges and opportunities."
Nomura raised an eyebrow. "Unique challenges, huh? You're definitely in the right place for that. And I have a feeling you'll make quite an impression here."
They continued chatting, discussing various aspects of the school and its culture. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the rooftop grew dimmer, but the view remained spectacular. The city lights began to twinkle, and the air grew cooler, adding a touch of magic to the evening.
After finishing their meal, Nomura stood up and stretched. "Thanks for joining me up here. It's nice to have someone to talk to who isn't always talking about the next fight or competition."
"No problem," Leo said, standing as well. "I enjoyed it. I'll be around if you need anything or just want to hang out."
Nomura smiled. "I'll keep that in mind. It's good to have friends, especially in a place like this."
They made their way back to the main building and headed to their respective dorms. To Leo's surprise, the dorm assignments placed him and Nomura in the same building. They shared a floor with a few other students, and their rooms were conveniently located across from each other.
The dorms had a modern, functional design, featuring tatami mats, low wooden furniture, and sliding paper doors. Leo's room was sparsely decorated, with a single bed, a small desk, and a window overlooking the school grounds. The walls were adorned with simple yet elegant artwork, and a small shelf contained some basic necessities.
Nomura's room was similar in layout but slightly more personalized, with posters and memorabilia from various battles and events. Leo noticed a few gaming consoles and board games stacked neatly in a corner.
As they settled in, Nomura invited Leo over to his room. "Want to hang out for a bit? I've got some games we could play, and it's always more fun to have company."
"Sure," Leo said, stepping into Nomura's room. "I'm up for it."
They spent the evening chatting and playing games, their laughter and camaraderie filling the room. Nomura's friend, a student named Masuko, joined them later. Masuko had a friendly, easygoing demeanor and quickly hit it off with Leo.
"Hey, Leo," Masuko said, shaking his hand. "I heard about your fight with Rin. That was impressive."
"Thanks," Leo replied. "It was quite the introduction."
Masuko grinned. "Well, if you're up for some friendly competition, we've got a few games that might interest you."
The trio spent the rest of the night playing video games and board games, discussing strategies and laughing over their victories and defeats. As the hours passed, they lost track of time, enjoying each other's company and sharing stories about their lives and the academy.
