ALPHA MARK
To say that I was fed up with these alphas and council members was putting it lightly. I came to them for help with the rogue attacks. There had to be more to it then just random attacks. They were happening way to often and they seemed to be looking for someone. It just all seemed odd to me.
"Alpha mark, are you paying attention?" Asked alpha brad from the glacier moon pack. They were from further north in the mountains. To be honest I was not paying attention. My mind was on the phone call I just had with the beta and the newest member of my pack. Something about her voice was calming and it left me a little unsettled. Despite the distance I felt when they joined her to the pack. I just couldn't believe what had happened to her. Who does that kind of thing? The mate bond is sacred. I could only hope that one day I would meet my mate and treat her like the queen she deserves to be treated like.
"No. I am not paying attention. We are just going in circles and not getting anywhere. I don't even know why I came here to begin with. Clearly I am not going to get the help I am requesting in figuring this out." I said with a frustrated sigh. I looked around the table at all the other alphas that made up the council and could see the conflicted faces. This was clearly just a waste of my time.
"Well it is hard to believe that rogues could plan something like this. They are rogues. They do what they want, when they want. They answer to no one and don't care about others." Alpha brad said. The others nodded in agreement. I did not agree. These attacks on my pack were planned. And we have been lucky enough to not lose any pack members so far. A few have been pretty injured but nothing major. The rogues seem to be distracted, checking out every wolf they come across. The one we captured wouldn't say anything at all to us. He still sits in our cells.
I wanted to get home to my pack. I know my dad is perfectly capable of taking care of things when I'm away and so is beta Jack but as the alpha it leaves me unsettled to be away for so long. I have been here a week already. And the upcoming moon festival needed to be prepared for as it was being hosted on our land this year. We had already rented out some nearby hotels and made food preparations. I am sure my mother, who was still the Luna until I find my mate or take a chosen mate, has already got all the preparations taking care of but with all the rogue attacks I wanted to go through security and see if any of the younger were ready enough from training to step up for the festival. I was not heartless, I would have them work in shifts so everyone got a chance to enjoy themselves. With so many visiting packs the chances of a rogue attack were pretty slim. They would be pretty dumb to attack.
"Alpha mark, we are getting no where and I think that what we need is evidence that this is more then just random attacks. Until then I think we should take a break. Everyone needs to prepare for the upcoming ceremony on your land." Aloha Brad said. All the other alphas nodded in agreement. I knew that was it. The meeting was finally over and yet I felt like nothing had been resolved. Mostly because it hadn't been. We got no where. As all the alphas dispersed from the meeting to their respective rooms for the night I just sat there, frustrated that I got no where. I was known as a ruthless alpha. No other packs dared to come at my pack. I was feared among the alphas. And with good reason. I was very good to my pack but I was strict with training. Everyone needed to be trained in case of attacks.
I headed out of the meeting room and towards the room I was staying in. The hotel was on no man's land. A safe place to meet that wasn't on anyone's pack lands so everyone felt comfortable. I saw the alpha of the river moon pack and wondered if he knew what was going on with his pack members. He had recently found his mate so he probably didn't. Although it sounds like it had been going on for a while so he had to know something. I decided to wait and not say anything to him just yet. They would be at the festival so it would be interesting.
I head to my room so I can shower and look through emails. I see a lot of the alphas heading to the hotel restaurant but I do not want to socialize right now so I decide to order room service. Once I get to my room I place my order for room service and then shower while I wait. Once I got settled with my food and computer I started to go through my emails. Its was boring. My mind started to drift to the dream I had the previous night. About the most beautiful blonde girl with ice blue eyes that I had ever seen. I was in wolf form so my massive black wolf scared her. I tried to chase her and let her know I wasn't going to hurt her but then I woke up.
"Stress dream." Grunted my wolf Zorro in my head. I just snorted at him. Deciding I could take any more I closed my computer, finished my steak and then went to bed.
The next morning as I am getting ready to leave there is a knock at the door. I open to see alpha Brad.
"I feel bad about the way things have ended and I can't help this feeling that I have that you might be right. I was hoping we could discuss this a little more." He said.
"At this rate I will just make it back in time for the festival but we can set something up for after. You could come to the pack and see for yourself. I have one of the rogues in my cells. He won't talk though." I said to him.
"Okay. I think we can manage that. I will come there after the festival. I will have my Luna, beta and a few warriors with me." He replied. I thought it odd he was leaving his pack without anyone to run it.
"My dad and mom and the previous beta will be stepping up while I'm away. I spoke with my dad about this situation and he seemed to recall something like this happening in their time before they became alpha." He noted the questioning look in my eye.
"This has happened before? That is interesting. I will have to ask my dad about that." I wondered why he had never mentioned this to me before. He was a little on edge when it came to these attacks. I didn't really think much of it.
"Well you have the support of glacier pack and I'll see you at the festival." Alpha Brad got up to leave. We shook hands and said our goodbyes. I finished packing and headed down to my car. It was time to get back to my pack.
