OAKLEY
I woke up feeling very well rested. I looked at the clock on the night stand and saw that it was 10am. No wonder I felt well rested.
There was a soft knock on the door. I knew it was my grams.
"Come in." I said. She entered the room with a cup of coffee in her hand. I was really hoping it was for me.
"Good morning dear. I brought you some coffee. I made some breakfast and as soon as your done eating and ready we need to go to the pack house. Alpha Simon would like to see you and discuss your wolf. If she is like your mothers was then she is very special. I know we were going to work in the bakery today but this is more important. And we will still go shopping after." She hurried out. I giggled a little bit at her trying to get it all out, maybe afraid I might protest or something.
"Of course grams. I'll get dressed and be right down. Thank you for the coffee." I smiled at her. I sip at the bittersweet liquid while she leaves the room. Getting out of bed, I stretch and find my bags so I am put on some comfy clothes. I chose a pair of black sweatpants and a red tshirt. Not a lot of point in looking to fancy if I have to shift. Something I can get on and off easy is better for that. I pull my really long blonde hair up into a messy bun. I hope the alpha isn't offended that I am not going to look all fancy and such.
I head downstairs and to the kitchen. The delicious, sweet smells of crispy bacon, sausage and pancakes reach my nose before I enter the room. My stomach starts to growl and I then notice how hungry I am. Being a wolf shifter we have very big appetites and can eat a lot of whatever we wanted and still be thin. We had to train so we could be in shape and learn to fight otherwise we would be weak.
"This smells amazing grams." I said as I sat down. She put a big plate of pancakes, bacon and sausage and a bowl of fruit in front of me. She also set down a glass of water. We chatted some as we ate, avoiding the topics of what led me to being here and what was in the future plans. I know my grandparents would let me stay with them for as long as I needed or even wanted. And I considered it too.
"We should. So far I like it here. So much space to run." Haven said in my head. I couldn't help but agree with her. But I knew I would have to meet the alpha first, not his dad who is acting alpha while he is away. I had heard some rumors about him being ruthless and it scared me a little to think he might turn me away. But I knew my grandparents wouldn't let that happen.
We finished eating, did the dishes and then headed out to the pack house. It was a beautiful fall day. The leaves were just starting to turn on the trees and the tempature was that perfect fall weather, not to hot and not to cold. The air smelled of the forest surrounding the pack. I was itching to run and I knew Haven was as well.
As we walked to the pack house my grandmother pointed out a few things a long the way. The training grounds, the road that led to the little town they ran, the school and a few other places. I briefly remembered some from when I would visit as a little kid. That didn't happen so much after mom passed. That thought made me sad. But I brushed it away because I couldn't think of things like that right now.
We approached the pack house which looked like a multi-level mansion almost. I knew like most pack houses that it had a ballroom, a kitchen, a dining area big enough to fit the whole pack and then some, the alpha floor, meeting rooms, offices, a livingroom where people could lounge together and a game room. There were also guest rooms as well.
We went inside and I marveled at how beautiful everything was. It all seemed to be made of wood, like the inside of a log cabin. We walked down the hallway to a door that read alphas office on it. Grams knocked on the door.
"Come in." Said a male on the inside. I guessed it was alpha Simon. When we went into the room alpha Simon and alpha Jack were both there. Looking around the room I noted that it was very homey. There was a fireplace on one wall with a couch in front of it. Another wall was covered in bookshelves that were completely full of books. Behind the alphas desk was a massive window that overlooked the training grounds. It was a beautiful room. There were pictures around the fireplace. One had alpha Simon, his Luna and someone I was guessing is the alphas son. He had these bright green eyes and brown hair. I felt like I could get lost in those eyes. It was weird. I had to make myself look away.
"Good morning! I hope you slept well." Alpha Simon sat down in the chair at the desk. Beta Jack stood behind him.
"Yes, thank you." I said. I sat in one of the chairs across from them, my grams in the other.
"Well I guess we should just get down to business. No point in dragging this out. I remember your mother very well. I know how special her wolf was and it was hard when she left the pack. We protected her when she was here. I'm so sorry for your loss." Alpha Simon said.
"Thanks. I barely remember her wolf. She wouldn't shift a lot. Something about being unsure if it was safe." I thought about the times when she was alive and if I ever saw her shift.
"Well. Tell us about your wolf then." Alpha Simon smiled at me. It was a comforting smile and something about him made me feel safe.
"Well, she is massive. The size of an alpha. And she's pure white with bright purple eyes. Her name is Haven." I said.
"Just like your mothers. Hers was named Alexa." Grams sighed. I knew this would be somewhat hard on her as well.
"Well I will let you know now that you will be safe here in this pack. As long as you want to stay. I will discuss it with my son as he is the one who is the alpha of this pack but he remembers the stories of your bloodline. It shouldn't be a problem." Alpha Simon said. That was a bit of a relief to hear. I think I would like to stay here for awhile. I feel somewhat more connected to my mother being here. It's where she grew up and lived until she met my dad.
"I would like that." I said. Grams smiled wide. I knew she would be happy about my staying here as well.
"I think we should go out and meet haven if your okay with that." Alpha Simon said standing up.
"Yes, she is just begging to get out and run." I said, standing as well. We all headed out of the packhouse through a rear door and towards the training grounds. I could see a group that looked to be about the same age as me training. A few stared at me as we walked by but they just went back to training after we passed by. We walked to the other side of the training grounds and into the woods for a bit.
"Alright. This will be a good place. You can shift first so we can meet haven and then we will shift and run with you so that you can see where the borders are and so no one gives you trouble. Although if she's as big as you say I doubt anyone would mess with you." Alpha Simon chuckled.
