OAKLEY
"Can we talk?" Derek asked.
"I don't have anything to say to you or to talk about with you." I replied. Haven was snarling in my head. Any feelings I had for him previously were completely gone now that the bond was gone. All I felt was disgust. I wanted nothing to do with him.
"I just want to know why you left. I don't get it. We had a good thing." He said. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Are you serious? Or do you have me confused for my sister? Because seems like you had a good thing with her the entire time we were together. Seriously Derek I want nothing to do with you." I said. I turned to walk off when he grabbed my arm.
"Let go of me." I snarled at him.
"No. Your my mate and your coming home with me. Who I have on the side isn't any of your business." He said. He is delusional if he thinks I am going anywhere with him.
The delicious smell from before gets stronger, it breaks my concentration some and he is able to pull me a little ways down the hall to where it is more empty and secluded. He pushes me up against the wall and pushes his body against mine. I struggle to get away but he is stronger then I am.
"Get off me!" I shout at him while trying to push him away.
"No! Your mine and it's time everyone knew it!" He said, his eyes looking all crazy. I couldn't believe it. He thought I was going to be the good little mate who sat at home while he was off with whatever bimbo he wanted to be with at that time. I was not having it. I was feeling good about being in my grandparents pack and was making friends. I continued to struggle to push him off me while he kept me pinned to the wall. His hands started roaming over my dress and I had a really bad feeling. He brought his face to my neck and inhaled deeply.
"You smell so good." He whispered. He was going to try and mark me. I started to panic even more. I had no idea he could be this way. He was always so sweet in the past.
Suddenly there was a loud growl from down the hall and Derek let go of me quickly and fell to his knees, exposing his neck to the incredibly strong alpha aura that suddenly filled up the room. I was not affected by the aura. I usually didn't let anyone know that but I was frozen in place. Standing at the end of the hall was a mountain of a man, all muscles and tall. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was dressed in a black suit and looked so handsome that I couldn't tear my eyes away from him. Or maybe it was the delicious scent coming from him. Or haven screaming mate over and over again in my head.
I started to tremble in fear. I get a second chance mate but this soon after rejecting my first mate? How can I even be a good mate when my previous mate didn't want me for more then something to clean his house and make his dinners. I wasn't good enough for him so how could I be good enough for anyone else.
His hard eyes softened when he looked at me and he lowered his aura. Derek stood up and bowed slightly.
"Alpha Mark. I was just having a conversation with my mate here." He said.
"Your not my mate." I growled at him, inching away from him so he couldn't grab me again.
"Indeed you are not her mate. She is my mate." Alpha mark said, slowly walking towards us. Derek stood square and tried to make his way in between us.
"That's not possible." Derek said.
"Well I would believe that if I didn't know what had happened between you too. Now why don't you run off to your chosen mate and leave my mate alone." Mark growled.
Derek stood there staring at him for a moment. He turned to leave but not before whispering "this isn't over." To me. It made me a little nervous but I wasn't going to dwell on it when I had a second chance mate here that I had to figure out what to do with.
We watched Derek leave and then he turned to me.
"Are you okay?" He asked me in a really deep, sexy voice. Just his voice made things happen to my body that had never happened before. Haven was drooling inside my head as she stared at him.
"Y-yea. Thanks alpha." I responded, bowing my head. He reached out and with one finger raised my head to look him in the eyes.
"You do not bow to me, you are my equal. And you may call me Mark. None of that alpha business. Your my mate. I may be your second chance mate but we are fated and I honor that bond." He said to me softly. I couldn't think. I wanted to kiss him in that moment and just be wrapped up in his arms but I was also afraid. What if he changes his mind? He could just be saying what he thinks I want to hear. I don't know. I did know that I needed to get out of there and away from the pull of the bond so I could think clearly.
"Please excuse me." I said and then ran off before he could say anything.
