Chapter 2 - Aura

The night sky was a surreal tapestry, painted with two moons that hung like twin lanterns in the velvety darkness. One moon outshone the other, casting a silvery glow that bathed the landscape in ethereal light. Yet it was the dimmer moon, imbued with a palpable, otherworldly energy, that captured the young lad's imagination.

The young lad, who had just celebrated his tenth birthday was looking at the stars admiring their beauty.

At the tender age of ten, Vyse stood alone, gazing up at the celestial spectacle. His hair, a cascade of pure white inherited from his mother, framed his forehead in a way that suggested both grace and enigma. His eyes, however, belied the innocent appearance of his youth. They were as dark and brooding as a storm-ridden sky, hinting at the shadows of a world far beyond his years.

Draped in a black tailcoat spun from the finest silk, Vyse's attire spoke of royal lineage, its elegance accentuating his striking presence His whole attire was spun from the finest silk that showcased his royal blood and the authority he held.

Yet, he was not happy. He was aware of the danger that loomed over their heads. He was the only one who knew that they were in grave danger.

So he needed to get strong enough to protect himself and his family from the hidden dangers.

Still, he was excited, excited about the fact that he would now be finally learning fighting styles and mana utils. He had yet to form the tiny sphere of mana but he unknowingly achieved something vastly different.

He was still unaware of the fact that he had done something extraordinary, he was unaware.

A by-product of his achievement was that he could now use Aura, he didn't know how he managed it. But he was excited about the fact, that he knew a way to fight.

Aura was limited to only a few humans and demihumans. In this world, every species had its own set of powers. Elves used spirits, Dwarfs used their alchemy, and Demons used something that, was only known to him.

Vampires and werewolves were quite similar to humans and demihumans. They also had their innate abilities. Vampires manipulated blood while werewolves used their strong bodies to fight.

This world was on the verge of world war, Elves and Demons had already waged war with each other and it had been 10 years since the war started. Vyse knew that soon other powers would also join the war and many mountains of corpses would be laid.

Vyse manifested his aura at the age of 9. He was taught by the strongest knight, His father, who was the epitome of power.

But being taught by him was not enough and manifesting it at the age of 9 could have resulted in adverse effects. His body was young and should have been unable to handle the stress but somehow the young lad had managed to do just that.

Aura was a manifestation of one's inner essence, a radiant reflection of their spirit and strength. It was said that the earlier a person manifested their Aura, the greater the potential they had for greatness-or for calamity.

Vyse's early awakening stunned everyone. This awakening led to an earful to Victor, His mother scolded Vyse's father, Victor, as she thought that the man was pressuring the child too much.

Yet A smile too came on her face. When she saw the face of Vyse, He was so happy about it.

Vyse's Aura was dark and had a deep hue of midnight black. The intensity of his Aura spoke of the intense potential it held.

But he was still unable to form the small orb of mana, he was able to see it and absorb it instinctually. Yet he failed to bind it to his command.

Rat-a-tat!

A sudden knock on the door brought him back to reality, Jolting him out of his thoughts.

"Who's there?" Vyse asked with a curious face.

"It is me, brother," said the sweet voice from the other side of the door.

Without wasting any time. Vyse swung open the door, revealing the small frame of his sister.

She now emitted the same radiance as his mother and they both even looked alike. None of Victor's children resembled him.

Ela too, was now, blossoming into her role as a future lady of the house, and radiated an almost ethereal grace. Her crimson eyes gleamed with a warmth that contrasted sharply with her moonlit gown, a fabric woven from the finest silk that seemed to shimmer with every step. As she glided into Vyse's room, her presence was like a gentle breeze on a cold night—soothing and invigorating.

"So, what took you so long?" she inquired.

"Well, I was just admiring the sky's beauty." He replied.

Ela stepped into the room with a graceful stride, her gown shimmering softly with each movement.

She glanced around Vyse's room and made her path towards him.

She then proceeded to hug him as he was soon going to the academy. Her warmth made Vyse remember about Ryne.

Ela's warmness and heart were similar to Ryne's. Looking at Ela, always made Vyse remember the pain that those bastard had put him and his sister through.

His training from the age of three was not merely a preparation for the challenges of this world but a step toward the ultimate goal: finding a way back to his previous life and exacting vengeance for Ryne's death.

Yet at present, the only hope he had was using magic, yet he could only dream of as he still had not managed to create the tiny ball.

Yes, Magic was his sole hope of returning as it was the only thing that could somehow help him go back.

Having spent 10 years in this world, Vyse adored his new family, but the damage was done. He at least needed to avenge her.

And to avenge her, He needs to grow stronger. Strong enough to protect his new family from the looming threat.

Things were going smoothly in the kingdom, but it was the calmness before the storm.

His father too, had realized the threat and started his preparation in advance.

Yet, Vyse was impatient as he knew that his father's lifespan was limited. If the war was waged then it was imminent that his father, would not be able to lead the kingdom properly.

Being the Prince, Vyse had a lot of responsibilities on his head. Toh, he was ready to shoulder them but he needed power that he could only get by training.

And so, he had started to train when he was of 3 years.
