Chapter 8 - Ancient devil

Victor's body was covered with the shadow of the dreaded figure that stood at a colossal height of 10 meters, two horns protruded from the head of the ancient demon, its hide was crimson, similar to the color of blood.

The ancient figure spoke "Who dares to intrude my slumber?" in a hoarse voice, his voice sent chills down Victor's spine. But he didn't back out after all he too, was the strongest human.

"Demon, you are coming with me." Victor said and placed his hand on the sheath of his pristine sword.

Without waiting for the demon's reply, Victor slashed upward with his sword, the slash seemed to carry the echoes of the world as the upward slash had launched an arc that seemed to cut everything in half.

The slash was imbued with the fire element, and the perfection spoke of the countless battles that he had fought to perfect this technique.

Toh it failed to slice the demon in half as its hide was tough and resilient. But it still had somewhat shown signs of damaging its hide.

The demon roared, its roar so powerful that the surrounding snow and ruins of the civilization quaked.

His eyes blazed with fiery rage as it was angry at the puny mortal that had not only disturbed his slumber but had even dared to attack it. It too was caught off guard by the mortal's sheer audacity. The ground around him was scorched by the residual energy of the slash

"You dare challenge me, mortal?" the demon bellowed, its voice a thunderous clash of anger and disbelief. "Do you not know who I am?"

Victor's expression remained resolute, he was not going to flinch after all he had found a way to cure his son's condition finally.

"Heed to my command, I command thy to burn my foe in the hellish flame. Hellfire" Victor shouted and soon the world around Victor seemed enveloped in a ferocious fire.

"*************" The demon used a spell, that seemed to rival the ferocious fire, the ruin now had become their battleground.

The old ruin was not completely destroyed as it was unable to handle the effects, the skull that brought the demon back from his slumber too was engulfed in the hellish flames.

The battle between these two monsters was impacting the surrounding itself.

All the snow of the region had melted down, but the mighty flames were dying down too.

Cause the demon had launched his spell, that engulfed the battlefield with water. Both spells canceled out each other.

Victor once again launched his attack using his sword but this time his sword was bathed in hellish flames. Each swing brought intense heat cascading outwards, further distorting the already warped landscape.

The demon too retaliated with its own spell that brought a dark, swirling vortex of water that seemed to devour the fire itself. The clash of these elemental forces created a chaotic storm of searing heat and cold water, each trying to outdo the other in the dance of destruction.

As the battle raged on, Victor felt the need to use his one of the many trump cards as he was going impatient with the battle. He wanted to cure his son, as soon as he could.

But it needed preparation and the devil would not let him do just that.

So he tried to lure the devil into a conversation with him.

"Come with me, I need your help, I want you to make a contract with my son." Victor pleaded, his voice containing hope.

Victor could easily decimate this ancient devil but he needed it to heal his son so Victor could not launch his attacks at their full power.

"Why should I, The great Ramos help you?" The colossal ancient questioned and launched a series of punches that were enveloped with corruption.

Victor was having a hard time dodging the punches as he too was preparing his trump card.

"Please, you have to help him." Victor pleaded for which a punch landed on his face.

But Victor's armor had absorbed the energy of the impact and he was not damaged much. His preparations were now done.

"That's it demon, I just wanted to do this the easy way but you brought this on you. I know you are powerful but this much is not enough for you to defeat me." Victor shouted.

And as soon as he shouted, Multiple lances seemed to carry holy energy. They then shoot forward with a speed that the demon could not grasp. These lances were imbued with Victor's accumulated energy and shimmered with a bright radiance that cut through the chaotic storm.

The devil, Romos, roared in defiance raising its massive clawed hand to intercept the coming lances. But he had failed to do so, the clash of energy and the demon's flesh was explosive, sending ripples through the chaotic storm.

Despite Ramos's immense power, the concentrated energy was causing significant damage to his crimson hide.

Victor seeing the momentary advantage. His sword, now blazing with renewed hellfire, cut through the air with a fierce determination. Each swing, fueled by his desperation and hope, sought to find its mark. The ancient demon struggled to maintain its footing as the combination of light lances and hellfire intensified the conflict.

"Surrender otherwise this place would become your grave Ramos," Victor said.

But the demon was not going to back down, he was not going to let this human win, he too focused and manifested punches in the air that was enveloped in corruption.

His punches slammed hard against Victor's defenses, the onslaught of attack had stopped, Now Victor was defending himself from the onslaught of the ferocious punches.

Victor's eyes narrowed and focused, he managed to dodge the continuous onslaught of attacks.

But then again he was blinded as the ancient demon driven by anger and desperation and unleashed its final devastating spell, a torrent of darkness swirling with raw energy.

Victor being blinded used his all-defensive artifacts that faced the attack head-on.

The attack finally stopped, the devil was dried out of its energy and Victor's artifacts had too broken down.

The surrounding area has now become a crater, the storm, snow, and ruins of the civilization, the remnant bone of the monsters that laid there, nothing was left of them. Not even a speck of the dust.

If Victor had faced the attack head-on then he too would have suffered serious damages after all nothing was left of them and Victor's artifact was one of the best defensive barrier yet it too had broken down.

Having no energy left, Ramos's colossal body collapsed, he was going to die soon.
