Chapter 11 - Situation

Opening his eyes, Vyse found himself humbled from darkness, he was unable to see anything. All there was to see was darkness. "What the hell is this place?" he said and thought that there would be no one here to reply to his query but then a sudden sound rang in his head, "It's an enchanted tomb, idiot." the voice said in a hoarse tone.

"And what the hell is that supposed to mean also why are you in my head, Ramos?" Vyse enquired, "well our souls have merged so it is quite normal for me to be in your head and you should have worried if I wasn't cause that would have meant that you would have been trapped in a illusion for eternity." Ramos told him.

"So how do I get out?" Vyse asked the demon inside his head, to which someone suddenly lifted the tomb. " That's how you get out," Ramos replied.

This was a familiar yet distinct figure, familiar cause she was Vyse's sister but distinct because she looked entirely different than before. She had grown a lot.

Ela suddenly enveloped her brother in a warm hug and cried out.

"You have finally awaken."

"Brother, I was so worried about you."

"You definitely took your time." She said.

But Vyse was quiet cause the scene that unfolded in front of his eyes was devastating. The palace was crumbling slowly, the pristine white marble walls were getting turned into dust, and the roof was on the brink of collapsing down.

"What happened here, Ela" Vyse enquired to which Ela suddenly grabbed Vyse's hand and started running, While running she told Vyse what had happened while he was in his slumber. Vyse was devastated to know about it.

They ran through the front door of the chamber only to find two familiar figures waiting for them, it was none other than the patriarch of the two noble families.

One of the figures spoke, "Where were you running, little rats?" and the other one said "Oh so the sleeping prince had finally awakened, huh, she sure took her time." and licked his knife.

Suddenly 3 more figures emerged from the ground and encircled both Vyse and his sister Ela.

The new ones that had emerged were not humans, they were something that Vyse now had in his head.

They were demons.

Two horns protruded from each creature, their skin a sickly shade of green, glistening in the dim light. Sharp claws tipped their fingers, and their eyes glowed with an eerie red intensity. Vyse's heart raced as he instinctively stepped closer to Ela, feeling the weight of the demons' gaze upon them.

"Nice to see you both awake," the demon sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "We were just discussing how to deal with the princess but now we got the crown prince too."

"Please let us go, Aid," Ela said, her voice trembling but defiant. "You will get nothing from killing us too, you already have killed my father and mother using your cowardly tactics,"

Aid chuckled darkly. "Coward? Oh, dear girl, you have no idea how much power we wield now. This palace that once was your sanctuary is now our hunting ground, and you know what we hunt, we hunt humans."

Vyse clenched his fists, and tears dripped down his face as he now understood the gravity of the situation, Ela already told him about the death of Victor and Alice but now he was certain.

Suddenly one of the demon launched a barrage of attack on Vyse while he was in deep thought.

Vyse looked at the coming attack and thought, "I should end my life right now, and here, what is the use of living like this, I was given two chances at life yet both were shit, once again I have become an orphan." and sat down

Sitting in a position that seemed to say that he had accepted his fate.

The attack finally landed on Vyse and dust enveloped the ground, Vyse had closed his eyes upon seeing the attack and was waiting to feel the impact but nothing happened.

He waited but still no pain, he opened his eyes to see that His Sister Ela had summoned a magical barrier that had blocked the attack.

"Brother I do not want to lose you too, I am tired, the past night had been taking its toll on my body, We need to run now." She said tears in her eyes and a tone that was filled with nothing but sadness.

The demons snarled, closing in as Vyse felt the weight of despair wash over him. "Ramos," he whispered, hoping the demon inside could offer some form of guidance.

"Focus," Ramos's voice echoed in his mind. "You're stronger than you think. Together, you and Ela will be able to escape. Remember, you are not alone."

Suddenly, a surge of energy pulsed within Vyse, igniting his determination. He turned to Ela, whose eyes shone with resolve. "Listen, I'll keep them busy, you should run to the forest, I'll meet with you soon."

But he was shunned by Ela because she had fiercely denied letting Vyse face those monsters alone.

And launched her fire spell, igniting the surroundings like Vyse's determination, without giving a chance for retaliation, she used her spell.

But Vyse's thoughts were in turmoil, "Why the hell is she doing this if they are capable enough to defeat Father then we stand no chance." "I need to do something."

The first noble sneered and launched a barrage of swords, condensed water on Ela, and shouted "Hahahaha, you are going to die from this attack fool."

Ela too understood the gravity of the situation now because the other three figures launched their attacks and they were more powerful than hers.

The surrounding area was getting destroyed if its earlier state was not enough, the roof too had started to form cracks and was falling one by one.

The humming of attacks shook the whole palace and its surroundings.

Before Vyse could think of anything, His body launched itself in front of his sister to face the coming onslaught of attacks.

The dust once again enveloped the area, the ceiling started to fall, and pillars were collapsing.

And Skye Palace crumbled.
