Author note: The start of the novel had stretched too much, I'm going to end the start in the next two chapters
1 year later;
"He still has to wake up" the voice echoed in the darkest chamber of the white palace, this voice belonged to none other than Vyse's mother, a year had passed since his father had merged up the ancient monster with Vyse's body.
---------------------------
As for why he did it, we will know it soon.
After the long battle with Ramos, Victor brought him into the palace and forced the demon to heal his son but the demon's pride did not allow it.
It wasn't going to heed to the command of an inferior species even if he was defeated by the same inferior being.
Vyse was still comatose when his father took the decision to merge the boy as they needed to heal the boy somehow if the demon was not going to heal him willingly then they would force him to do it.
All the elders of the family and the patriarch of the other noble families came to visit Vyse, and with them came the sage who had told Victor about the ancient devil. The sage then suggested Victor do another ritual albeit a different one.
"Your Majesty, I suggest that you do the forbidden ritual on the body as things stand, it is the only way to heal the prince's condition." said the wise sage; albeit being happy, the elders and the patriarch were angered as they did not want Victor to do the forbidden ritual.
Victor told them that he would think about it which then further fueled their anger but he was ready to do anything to heal his son as he was not going to become a failure of a father like Vyse's grandpa was.
A month later;
"I have thought about it and it indeed is the only option to heal Vyse, I am ready to take the risk," Victor said to his wife whose eyes were lifeless until she heard 'Vyse'.
Vyse's mom's condition was deteriorating too as she loved her son a lot, his sister was worried about his brother too as his whole body had been paralyzed, and unlike before he had even lost his ability to talk.
"Honey, are you sure that the 'forbidden ritual' will be able to heal Vyse" Vyse's mom enquired with a lifeless tone, albeit her eyes were full of hope; hope that the ritual could heal her only son.
"Listen, honey, There's a chance that Vyse would recover fully but.." Victor suddenly stopped.
His Wife pursued him to complete the sentence but Victor took a miniature break and then spoke again.
"But there's also a chance that Vyse's will would not be able to handle the stress and the boy would be comatose." He completed.
*dum*
Both Vyse's sister and his mom collapsed when they heard about the last sentence, his mom cried out "Why, why, why, is it that my son has to face this much, why was he paralyzed, why was his talent japorized, why, why, why, what has he ever done wrong....".
[[for the sake of plot mom~]]
Victor wrapped his arms around Alice, and hugged her while she continued to weep. the room was filled with heavy silence, punctuated only by her sobs. His daughter, standing nearby, was trying her best to remain stoic, but her face was flushed with tears and frustration.
"Father," she managed to say through her grief, "Isn't there another way? Isn't there anything else we can do?" she inquired.
"That bastard's pride does not allow it, only if the demon had agreed with a contract," Victor said, his voice laden with the weight of his own sorrow and his face too showing a great sorrow.
Vyse's mother was devasted but she still managed to utter "When do we begin" with a glimmer of hope in a corner of her eyes.
The once beautiful lady, whose beauty rivaled the elves had lost her charm due to worries. Her face too like Victor had wrinkles as if the age was catching up with them.
Vyse's sister was not going to say anything as she knew that it was the only possible way that had the possibility of healing her brother.
Victor paused, his heart aching at the sight of his wife's desperate hope called out to his trustworthy butler Rosh, and ordered "Call the wise sage, Eldrin Seraphius, and prepare every necessity that the ritual requires."
"We shall start the ritual as soon as possible".
The forbidden ritual was a dark, ancient practice requiring meticulous preparation. A complex circle of runes was inscribed on the floor, surrounded by candles made from rare, magical wax. Ingredients like enchanted powders and talismans were placed in precise patterns to enhance the ritual's power.
And foremost, it needed live sacrifices.
When word spread that His Majesty, Victor, had decided to proceed with the forbidden ritual, Most of the family elders and noble families were outraged.
This outrage made Victor develop suspicion towards them as even if the ritual needed sacrifices, they should not have been outraged this much as they were going to use criminals as sacrifices, not innocent citizens.
The Sage, Elderin had answered Victor's call and the ritual was going to commence soon.

Author note: well imma increase words per chapter from the next chapter onward and I'm just going to skip over the ritual, I'll explain it in later chapters.
"Don't worry, honey, he will wake up soon after all he did succeed the ritual... " Victor consoled his wife.
