Chapter 14 - Esmeralda's Story.

Once the situation with his hair was taken care of, Esmeralda went quiet as she didn't know what to say now. The silence was broken as he was more interested in how his parents met.

"How did you even meet Dad?"

She smiled as that was a long story. She and her husband were almost the same age as they were both 28. They had met when they were teenagers as that was when Esmeralda had been at her most insane.

"We met on the battlefield. You may not know this, but I was infamous in my youth. People took to calling me the Witch of Elemental Chaos as I am a master of the elements. Fire, Water, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Light, and Dark too.

Of course, just being good at using them isn't good enough, what made me so infamous is my method for combining them all into a union magic. What should be impossible, I made it possible. That wasn't taking into account my mastery of rituals, Occultism, Curses, and Poison Magic."

As he heard this, he was very curious.

"How old were you when you met?"

"I was 15. I started my delve into magics as a small girl, barely 4 years old. Over the next 6 years, my grandmother and Mother taught me all I needed to know in Oz and then I left at age 10. In those 6 years, I reached a level of Magic most witches don't reach in their lives.

Part of that was my blessed lineage, with us descended from Queen Semiramis and her Mother the goddess Darketo. My line since her time produced powerful Witches and Mages. Once I left and returned to Earth, I used all I learned for the next five years.

I underwent dark rituals, and communion with the dead all with the point of increasing my strength. Over five years I continued to grow in power until I underwent atavism and awakened my line's powers.

Of course, by that point, I was a criminal and an elimination target of the Hero Clan. Those days, I was a blight on the world."

For what she was saying, she didn't seem ashamed.

"Must have been fun."

She chuckled as she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. He didn't find it awkward despite the fact they were the same height. She was still his Mother and he would always be her son.

"I will admit that I enjoyed my time as a Dark Witch. You get strong when you have no morals to hold you back. What grounded me and turned me away from that was meeting your Father.

When I turned 15, after my five years in the Underworld and Earth as a criminal, I became so dangerous after awakening my ancestor's powers. The first time I met your Father, I was in the process of sacrificing a town of people to allow me to create a Dark Grimoire. Your Father and his squad were sent to stop me. My ritual was interrupted, I killed most of his squad and we almost killed each other.

We hated each other at first and when the battle was over and I retreated I swore to never again be caught by him. For the next three years, we fought as many times as Jin and Sapphire did.

Just like they started as mortal enemies destined to kill each other, things changed. The next three years were annoying, every time I showed up he was there. We fought so many times, that I began to wonder if he had placed some tracker on me. He had not, he was just determined to bring my evil to an end.

For three years, I couldn't get a ritual off without your giant of a Father being there. I hated it, but after a while, it started to feel nice."

Out of nowhere, his Father who had heard the whole thing had left his room with Jannet in his arms. He sat down next to Jack before he continued the story.

"I did. Back then I truly felt like a hero in white shining armor. I swore to make sure to bring an end to her evil. Guess I was not as heroic as I thought as your Mother was just the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. While I did hate her actions, she wormed her way into my pure heart."

Esmeralda giggled.

"Just your annoying heroism got into me. The last time we fought, we fought for keeps. We almost killed each other, and it could have gone either way. My poisons and curses had entered his body, but his Touki and Holy Sword kept him standing.

In the end, I hit him with the worst curse I ever cooked up and he stabbed Clarent through my chest. When we went down, we honestly thought we would die together. We didn't thankfully as we both had ways to heal.

Oceanus' blessing of the Sea worked to weaken my curse, and I had done enough rituals where a stab through the heart wasn't enough to kill me. As we both realized from our wounds, we got talking."

Jack Sr chuckled.

"We did talk, for a long time. I called her a heretical bastard for her crimes. She called me a wannabe Hero with a stick up my ass without any understanding of the magical arts. A yelling match with us almost dead, then changed."

Esmeralda and Jack Sr both looked at him and it took him a moment to understand. When he did, he sighed.

"Did you two have almost dead intercourse?"

They both nodded without any shame which made him want to puke.

"Gross. Let me guess, I was the result."

Jack Sr ruffled his head.

"Yes, you were. Your birth is what made your mother appreciate human life. Your birth made me want to keep my family out of near-death battles. A lot of good that did."

Esmeralda nodded as she held him tighter.

"Now you know the dark truth about me. Does it change how you feel about me?"

Jack shook his head.

"Nope. I don't mind, I honestly rather hear more from your youth than Dad."

Jack Sr felt betrayed. Was his childhood so uninteresting?

"Why? I know stuff."

Jack shrugged.

"Heroes are lame, now the cool Evil Witch Mom, that I want to know more about."

Esmeralda hugged him so tight he felt that she could break his neck. He wanted to know what rituals she used to get this strong.

"Thank you. Now that the family is back, I have so much to teach you. I have to teach you how to perform the Elemental Chaos Technique and my large reserve of Curses. I also have to teach you to make your own Grimoire."

Jack really wanted to know more about magic as Apophis for all her might, was nowhere near as good at Magic as Azi Dahaka. She knew some magic, but she mostly relied on her Darkness Manipulation.

Now, a talented Witch called the strongest of her Era was something he wanted to learn under. He didn't have enough fun so he turned to his brooding Father.

"By the way I was messing with you. How did your parents take you marrying an evil witch?"

Jack Sr shook his head.

"My parents disowned me, and my older brother told me I was a shame to the Hero Clan. My little sister begged me to stay, but I didn't. Your Mother's mother was more supportive of us and she is a Witch."

Jack nodded as it was interesting hearing all this. He reached out and took his little sister into his arms. The rest of the night, he listened to his parent's stories of the advantages they had. His Mother never hid what she did or what dark things she had tried to do.

His Father on the other hand told stories of how it was like meeting Oceanus. How it was growing up in the American Hero Clan. The American branch had dug deep into the Government and ran things.

It was very intriguing, and only when the sun came up did they all finally stop talking. His Father noticed the rising sun and the fact Jannet the little girl had fallen asleep in her Mother's arms.

"Ah, look at the time. We can pick this up later, otherwise we will be here on this couch for days."

As he stood up, he gently took his daughter from Jack's hands. He was going to take her to her room to sleep, but before that, he turned to Jack.

"If you want you don't need to go to school. You are probably smarter than the smartest mundane human now."

As he walked off, his Mother smiled.

"Want to see my collection of Forbidden Grimoires?"

He nodded like a little boy since he technically was one. She smiled as she waved her hand and from a small pocket space she pulled out a book that seemed bound in human skin.

"This is a Grimoire on Demonology written by Felix Faust. I don't mean Devils, I mean Demons from Hell. Some are quite powerful, but they are impossibly hard to summon on Earth. Only the weaker ones can be summoned so while interesting, not that powerful.

Instead, I will show you the most important thing I developed."

She brought out a dark colored grimoire which she placed between them. On the cover, it had a language he could understand as his Fallen Angel heritage translated it for him.

"The Elemental Lord Technique?"

"Yes, this is how I created my Elemental Chaos Magic. Tell me, do you think you can combine Water and Fire Magic directly?"

Jack shook his head.

"No, they would cancel each other out."

"Exactly, same with Lightning and Earth, or Light and Dark. As for Wind, it is the most malleable of the elements, but still. I always wondered what would happen if you combined all the elements at the same time.

Most would tell you that was impossible, my Mother sure did. At first, my technique merely made the elements far easier to control. After, I wanted to combine them into a single element, but as always Light and Dark gave me the most trouble.

How do you make something Dark and Bright at the same time?"

He smiled as he raised his hand and in his hand, he formed a spear of Dark Light. Seeing that dark construct emitting the faintest of light she smiled.

"Very interesting and good. You may get this faster than me. Let me show you."

She raised both her hands. In both she had six orbs of magic, on her left, she had Light, Fire, Earth, Water, Lightning, and Wind. On the right, she had the opposite with Dark, Fire, Earth, Water, Lightning, and Wind.

"These are your ingredients, separately mix Light and Dark with the rest of the main elements. She made it seem easy as she forced those orbs together and created both a Light and Dark combination of the elements.

"Once they are fused separately, combine them. Of course, if you do it wrong you will blow yourself up, but if it works, you get this."

With a flex of her magic, the two separately fused orbs combined, and instantly the entire house and full with a silver flash. When he opened his eyes, he saw his Mother's blue hair and blue eyes turn silver.

Around her arms, she had a silver glow which she explained.

"This is the result, a very powerful, and very versatile energy. All of the elements are combined into it and you can shape it however you want. Make it burn like fire, make it strike like lightning, surge like water, hit like the wind, or hard like steel. It can do anything.

It was why I was called The Witch of Elemental Chaos, as I made the elements do what no one else did. Of course that isn't adding Time, Space, or other Magics since I stopped my research before that. Not anymore."

Jack already wanted to learn this so he nodded.

"Got it, how do I start?"

She smiled as she powered down and handed him the book.

"You will need perfect control over the elements, so you will need to start with the first level. Regulation is as simple to understand, but annoying to achieve. Bringing your control over the basic elements to perfect alignment. Are you ready for a true delve into the Mystic Arts?"

"I am."

She smiled.

"Good, because it will take up most of your life."

Esmeralda was quickly remembering how much she loved magic. Meeting Jack Sr had been the best and worst thing ever. She met the love of her life and had her children, but she had given up her identity as a Witch. Never again, and now her son needed her knowledge.

How could she not be happy?

---

Now that the family had embraced their Supernatural heritage, things changed. He was no longer required to go to school, but he still went sometimes. Aya who was still his best friend was wondering what was going on, but he didn't say much.

Most of his time was spent with his Mother who tutored him in Magic including the Elemental Lord Technique. It caused his mastery of Elemental Magic to increase and allow for even more combinations of magic.

When he was not learning with her, his Father trained him to fight with Ki as it was called in the Hero Clan. However, it was more commonly called Touki which would allow him to strike the Life Force of his foes directly.

Even the basics of Sword Play. At Grigori, he kept his promise and Azazel got to study his Sacred Gear and even trained him how to better make use of it. They even studied how Procellarum Phantom was evolving.

Baraqiel would teach him the methods of combat as a Fallen Angel. He also technically wasn't alone as Basara and Vali were going to be joining him. What would happen when three Dragon Emperors grouped? The Black, Red, and White Dragon Emperors.

Most certainly nothing good.
