(My break is over, I was reading a novel on Scriblehub named Serum and the author's other novel, American Isekai. I highly recommend both. Now, Norse Mythology Lesson, all the Valkyries are Demigods. In some versions, a few including Brynhildr are Odin's daughters. In others they are not, I will pick a few that will follow this version.
IE Brynhildr, plus an extra long chapter today. I will also, be making a backstory for the Cursed Spirit in Brynhildr since nothing was ever mentioned of it in Shinmai. No fem, Sukuna as that be too obvious and weird.)
In Takamahagahara, the Divine Mountain of the Shinto Gods, a meeting between Amaterasu and Odin was taking place. The two God Kings were kneeling before each other and were politely partaking in a tea ceremony. The handmaiden of Amaterasu prepared everything for them before bowing and taking her leave.
Odin had come with 5 Valkyries as his escorts and guards. Leading them was Brynhildr who was standing to the side along with her sisters, Helmwige, Ortlinde, Grimgerde, and Schwertleite.
Of course, at any point, Heimdall was prepared to vast a Bifrost bridge and teleport Thor, Vidar, and Baldur in case the All-Father needed assistance. Then again, Amaterasu was a peaceful goddess, and the Shito and Norse had no bad blood.
Odin started the talk after he put down his tea cup. He opened his remaining right eye with a polite smile.
"Amaterasu, how long has it been since we have spoken? Many centuries at least."
She stopped sipping her tea with a lady-like nod.
"It has been some time. We have rarely had chances to converse, Odin. Our pantheons have never fought a war, but we have fought against the Greek Pantheon."
Odin laughed as both those wars had been started by Zeus. He could not keep it in his pants and he tried to go after the wrong goddesses in both Pantheons. As for the almost nonexistent relationship between the Norse and Shinto, there was a main reason for that.
"We also rule different regions of the world, and our mythologies share no overlap Odin."
Odin knew that well, sometimes it was better that way. With the kinds of troublemaker gods and entities in each Mythology, the less they met the better. Odin decided to stop beating around the bush to speak of why he was here.
"Yes, but I won't stand on ceremony for long. Brynhildr has been claimed in your country. Did you have a hand in this?"
Amaterasu didn't deny it.
"I had some hand in this, but not the wielder. When Brynhildr sealed herself and the Evil Spirit along with her, the sword fell into a spatial tear and fell in the middle of Japan centuries ago. It was then sealed in the Hero Village to be guarded."
Brynhildr and the Valkyries with her all seemed quite angry. The tradition of taking the name Brynhildr was taken in honor of the first Brynhildr. She was not just the strongest Valkyrie, she was also the daughter of Odin.
Her loss had hurt Odin quite a lot, and he hadn't gotten over it. Now, Brynhildr the one to inherit the name, spoke her mind.
"Our Lady sacrificed herself and was lost to us if you knew why you keep her away from her rightful home. She should have been enshrined in Asgard, not in a foreign place."
Amaterasu nodded as that would have been the noble thing to do, but the resulting sword was too powerful to simply give away.
"I apologize, but I couldn't do that. The resulting sword was dangerous and powerful beyond measure. Returning it would have placed another powerful weapon in your hands. It was a calculated risk."
Odin raised his hand as Brynhildr and the Valkyries with her were getting angry. That made them quiet down and wait for his orders. He began to run his hand down his beard before he opened his eye.
He had been rather relaxed this whole time, but now he was dead serious.
"Brynhildr wasn't just a Valkyrie, she was my daughter. She should have been returned centuries ago, but no matter. I want to meet who claimed the sword. For that, I wish to enter Japan."
Amaterasu nodded.
"I won't bar your entry, you are not Zeus or his spawn. However, I would also like to meet the new wielder. No one in the Hero Village could claim it, not even Jin Tojou. Someone from outside the Village became its master."
Odin leaned closer.
"Tell me more."

In Tokyo, in Moka's room which was quite pink and girly, the vampire was waking up rather late in the afternoon. She had to sleep more because of a very troublesome reason. When she woke up, her stomach began to grumble. She sat up in bed in a pair of pink pajamas, but she instantly felt dizzy. She held her stomach in hunger as she was becoming anemic.
Despite being a Vampire, she could still consume regular food only that she could barely draw any nutrients from it. She needed blood or a blood substitute to survive which took the form of Tomato Juice.
She had been drinking Tomato Juice, but that could only keep her going so long. She was becoming quite anemic and needed blood.
"What am I going to do?"
As she got up, she walked over to the mini fridge in her room before grabbing a can of tomato juice. She opened the can before she began to drink to at least keep her going.
While Moka was facing the troubles of being a pure-blooded vampire Jack and Jack Sr were having a blast. Just three hours after Jack tamed Brynhildr he was testing it out in a sword fight with his Dad.
Esmeralda had warded their back yard making it far larger than normal and the two were currently breaking in the sword. They moved at blinding speeds with only Ki flowing through them. Jack Sr was glowing a bright blue as his Touki flowed like the Ocean. As for Jack, his Touki flowing around him was a shade of blue so dark that it nearly appeared black.
Clarent and Brynhildr continued to clash with the Father and Son clashing. Esmeralda was watching the spar between her husband and son with her daughter Jannet on her lap. Amara the gigantic cat was curled up on the porch next to her with her tail flicking around like a fluffy flag.
As for Jannet, the little girl was clapping her hands at the high-speed spar. Jack rushed his Father before swinging his sword and launching several Ki slashes as he came in close. Jack Sr grinned as he surged his Ki into Clarent causing his sword to glow a bright blue and red as the sword power activated.
Jack could almost hear the ocean as his Father moved in a way that mimicked the crashing sea. Plus, the force and speed of thunder from the sword's power. He deflected each of his slashes before he stepped off the ground and appeared in front of him in a burst of lightning.
His Father despite his massive size moved like a agile sea predator. He spun around and swung his sword down with all his strength. Jack grinned as he raised Brynhildr and caught the swing with the flat of his sword. An explosion of Ki burst from the point of impact as the ground beneath him shattered. Jack could feel his arms rattle, but he was much more resilient than his old man.
Jack Sr exhaled as he pulled back his sword as this was a lesson.
"Impressive, you're getting the hang of the sword better and better."
Jack Sr smiled as he rested the sword on his left shoulder since he was a left-handed sword fighter. Brynhildr had bound itself to his left arm like the Abyssal Eclipse Gear had bound itself to his right.
He couldn't change their place even if he wanted to.
"No, you are the impressive one Dad. No wonder they call you the Hero Of The Deep Sea, as you fight I can hear the Ocean and the way you move. With the flowing nature of the sea, but its ferocity as well. Your strong, too-bad age is catching up to you."
Jack Sr scoffed as he bonked him on the head.
"I am barely 29 for a Hero with a lineage like me, I will live over a hundred years."
Esmeralda giggled.
"Baby, like I would let you leave me after a mere century. A couple of rituals here and there and you will live forever."
Jack patted his dad on the back.
"Yeah, stick around a couple of millennia."
Jack Sr smiled as they wouldn't let him die old. Plus, who wanted to die like a raisin, he rather stay handsome forever.
"Sure, I got no problem with living forever. I do want to see what you will be doing in a millennia or two. I have to see what my children will be doing then."
Esmeralda smiled as their family was closer than ever. Just as they were having some family time, Esmeralda sensed Moka open the front door with the key they gave her.
"Be back in a second boys."
She stood up and walked inside to greet Moka who they were looking after. When Esmeralda saw Moka, she instantly got worried. Moka seemed paler than normal and hungry.
"Moka, what is wrong? You look terrible."
Moka looked down embarrassed.
"I'm getting anemic, I have no blood on hand. My Father used to get us blood from donations, but I was told to learn to fend for myself."
Esmeralda understood.
"I see. You should have let us know you didn't have blood, we can get some from hospitals easily. A Vampire not drinking blood is like a diabetic not taking their insulin."
Before she left though, Jack, his Father, and Amara walked inside the house. Jack though had a better idea.
"Hold on Mom. Moka, does the blood need to be human?"
Moka shook her head.
"No, animal blood will work as well, but it isn't the best."
Jack thought about it before pointing at himself.
"What about me? My blood is a unique blend of Dragon, Fallen Angel, Witch, Hero, and Demigod so it should be special. Unless the Light Magic in it would harm you."
Moka shook her head.
"It won't, but are you sure?"
He shrugged.
"Sure, I don't mind."
Esmeralda thought that was a good idea.
"Jack's blood is quite potent so maybe a small dose would be ok. That is if you are ok with that Moka."
Moka looked at Jack who had made it clear he didn't mind. Plus, his blood was very special and would be stronger than any normal mundane blood.
"I guess I can give it a try."
Jack raised his right hand before pointing his left pointer finger at it. His nail extended and darkened until it was a bright blue claw which he used to slice his palm open. When his blood spilled from his palm, it was still red, but it glowed a deep blue with his unique energies flowing through it.
Esmeralda handed him an ampule which he used to collect his blood, but only a few drops. In case anything dangerous happened, it was better to start small. He collected only a few drops of blood in the ampule which was the size of his thumb.
By then, his palm had healed so he handed the ampule to Moka.
"Here, go slow as I don't know if this will hurt you."
Moka took it with both hands before smiling.
"Thank you."
She raised the ampule before she let a single drop of blood fall into her mouth. When she swallowed it, she instantly began to feel the unique blend of powers and bloodlines in that single drop.
Of course, it wasn't much, but just that was heavenly. She drank the rest of the blood which caused her Vampiric blood extra stimulated. As she absorbed all the energy in the blood of Jack something special happened.
Moka's hair began to shift between silver and pink just as her eyes transitioned between red and green. Moka fell to her knees as she hugged herself with an unsteady smile.
It was like she was drunk on the power and flavor of Jack's unique blood. Esmeralda, Jack Sr, and Jack all seemed concerned until her hair fully settled on platinum white and her eyes turned red. With Inner Moka waking up, a massive amount of mana was released from her.
However, no one was affected as everyone in the house was rather special. Esmeralda was also protecting Jannet from most of the release. After a little while, Moka stood up after settling down the surge of energy flowing through her.
She looked at Jack who was honestly confused.
"Thank you for the meal, Jack."
"You are welcome, if you want more just ask. Though, I assume you are the original Moka? Nice to meet you."
She nodded with a smile.
"Correct, I must say your blood is rather unique. It even woke me up despite the Rosary seal."
Esmeralda walked closer before leaning closer to look at the Rosary around Moka's neck.
"Now I am extra curious about your circumstance. You wouldn't mind me studying your seal would you?"
"No, not at all. However, do take into account I only have another minute left awake."
Esmeralda nodded as she touched the Rosary before she began to use every analytic spell she knew. She wanted to know what made it tick. When the minute passed by, as she said, Inner Moka fell back asleep.
Her hair turned pink, her eyes green and she passed out. Esmeralda levitated her with a thought before placing Moka on the couch.
"Ok, I got a general gist of things. Moka only has one soul. The Moka we met is the real one, the other is a second personality, not a separate entity. The Rosary keeps her Vampire blood mostly sealed, but drinking your blood woke up her original personality.
Must have to do with the whole Dracula thing."
Jack nodded as it was interesting.
"So, two personalities one soul. You think you could split them in time?"
Esmeralda shrugged.
"Possibly, if both personalities get strong enough, the Alter Ego could form its own soul. Though, I am curious what would happen in a few years of her drinking your blood."
Jack shrugged, but he was curious about the result. Just as he was going to speak, he, his Mother, and his Father all felt as several powerful divine auras teleported outside their house.
Jack Sr walked toward the door and opened it. Outside he saw Amaterasu and Odin standing next to each other. Behind them were the five Valkyries and two other women in Shinto attire.
Jack Sr didn't stay quite long.
"Amaterasu? Odin? What are you two doing here?"
Amaterasu clasped her hands together before she gave a polite slight bow.
"Forgive our unannounced visit, we came to speak to your son."
Odin nodded.
"Exactly, we want to meet the one to wield Brynhildr."
Jack Sr nodded as he moved out of the way.
"Come inside, he is right here."
Amaterasu and Odin stepped inside, but the five Valkyries and two handmaidens stayed outside as security. The door stayed open, but when the two God Kings looked at Jack they instantly could tell he was strong.
Jack himself placed a hand over his chest, but he didn't bow.
"Nice to meet you two, I am Jack Owens the second. You wanted to meet me yes?"
Amaterasu was going to speak first, but Odin like a little kid shoved her out of the way. She glared at Odin, but he ignored her.
"Yes, I did. You see, Brynhildr is my daughter and she has been missing for centuries after sealing that damn spirit. I am not asking you to relinquish the sword, I just want to know she is in good hands. May I see it?"
Jack nodded as he extended his left arm and summoned Brynhildr which came with the silver-black armor up to his shoulder. He held the sword out for Odin who gazed upon it with palpable sadness and relief.
He ran his aged hand down the blade which caused the soul of Brynhildr to begin to react with more awareness than usual. Of course, the Evil Spirit sealed inside did as well as the two were keeping each other in check.
If one awoke, the other would too causing the danger that came with the sword. Jack's exceptionally powerful sword meant he could resist most of the danger and Apophis could ground him if he failed.
Odin pulled his hand back before sighing.
"It relieves my old heart to know what happened to her after all these centuries."
Jack lowered his head.
"Sorry for your loss."
Odin shook his head.
"She isn't dead, just out of commission. You who managed to tame her and that Spirit have a chance to bring her back."
Now, Jack really wanted to know.
"Ok, I get Brynhildr was a powerful Valkyrie and your daughter, but what about the spirit? What was so dangerous about it?"
Amaterasu now having gotten over Odin's forward and child-like action shook her head. Correcting him as the Spirit sealed in his blade was not a mere it, she was a monster.
"Not it, her. Evil Spirits for the most part lack an ego as they are more monstrous entities rather than individuals. That is until they reach the S class or Ultimate Class and above. This Cursed Spirit, Ahramina The Soul Eater was one such Spirit.
Even as a newly spawned Spirit, she was extremely dangerous. Several Exorcists from the Principle Clans and Heroes from the Hero Clan were sent after her when she was newly spawned. All died and had their souls consumed which gave her more self-awareness and increased her threat level.
She began to consume villages worth of souls in the Muomachi period in Japan 600 years ago. Eventually, she became so dangerous that some lesser gods descended to take her down.
They underestimated her and were consumed in the process. When Ahramina decided to leave, she teleported to Scandinavia and was about to continue her ramage until Brynhildr intercepted her.
As the daughter of Odin and the strongest Valkyrie, she held her own, but Ahramina might as well have been unkillable. Her reserves of souls took killing blows for her and allowed her to continue on despite the many killing blows she received.
When it seemed Brynhildr would fall, she used sacrificial magic to seal Ahramina by using her body and soul as a prison. That was how the Divine Demon Sword, Brynhildr was created. Most records of Ahramina were erased as the less knew about her the better.
That is why Brynhildr can plunder the power of the souls it reaps. Much like a Sacred Gear, her power is used by the sword."
Jack could feel Ahramina within Brynhildr seemingly more aware than usual. As if talking about her stimulated her. He smiled as he ran his hand down the sword.
"Interesting, makes me like this sword even more."
Odin nodded.
"That sword because of how it was created has plenty of potential. You are the first wielder, by the way, the pioneer of it. Only time will tell what it can do."
Jack Sr was curious about one thing.
"If you are not going to demand him to return the sword, what will you do?"
Odin pondered on this as he tapped his cane on the ground.
"I got an idea, Jack. Would you mind coming with me to Asgard for a time? You could consider it a mentorship, I do want to see what the sword can do and if there is hope for my daughter to awaken. You could learn a lot in Asgard in the meantime."
Amaterasu on the other hand suggested something different.
"Or you can work with the Hero Village to deal with Stray Devils. Evil Spirits, and monsters around Japan. That is what your Father agreed to in exchange for the chance for you to bind the sword."
Jack glanced at the two God Kings before he made up his mind.
"Odin, I do not mind and would be honored to learn in Asgard. Amaterasu, I also do not mind working with the Hero Village. It would be a good experience. That is if you two aren't opposed to each other and you should know I also am in Grigori."
When he heard that name, Odin began to grin.
"Azazel that brat hasn't invited me out to the local titty bars in decades. I don't mind at all, Azazel and me go way back."
Jack chuckled as he shook his head in disbelief.
"Damn, Azazel knows everyone I have met."
Odin nodded.
"Azazel is a researcher and likes to learn as much as he can from any source. He makes friends in almost every Pantheon. Me included."
Amaterasu sighed at the perversion of men.
"He is also allowed to operate in Japan as long as he doesn't cause trouble."
Jack understood that.
"Good to know. This was a very informative lesson."
Odin ran his hand down his beard as he decided to make is exit.
"I think I will be returning home. We can talk more later. Until later, Jack."
Jack waved as Odin exited the house.
"Until then."
As for Amaterasu, she made up her mind.
"I will also be leaving."
She then turned to Jack Sr.
"You can consider yourself pardoned of your exile. While the different branches of the Hero Clan follow different gods, my pardon would allow you to return to the American Branch and any hostility against you would be seen as spiting on my word. A win-win situation."
When Jack Sr heard that he realized he would be able to see his younger sister who didn't want him to leave. Though, his brother and parents wouldn't be pleased.
"Thank you."
She nodded as she exited the house.
"It's the least I could do."
By the time she was outside, Odin had left so her two hand maidens gathered around her before they all returned home in a flash of sunlight. When the gods were gone, Jack Sr felt more tired than he should be.
"Mom and Dad won't be pleased."
Esmeralda squinted her eyes.
"Since you are your parents I will stay my tongue, but are they worth the trouble?"
"They aren't, my sister on the other hand is a different story. She was 4 when I was disowned, she would be 15 now. For her, I would go back."
As for Jack, he gazed closer at Brynhildr.
[What I am hearing, you got two more babes waiting for you inside that sword? Like me. A Demigod Valkyrie and an Evil Spirit.]
'Is that all you Dragons think off?'
[Correction, what WE dragons think off. You know you want to.]
He smiled as he dismissed Brynhildr.
'Shut up.'
[Make me.]
'Maybe I will.'
[What are you going to do? Make me submit to your will? Force yourself on me?]
He zoned her out as he went upstairs with Amara following behind him. He wanted to give his parents time to speak and he had more magic studying to do. Plus, he would be able to learn in Asgard soon. That would be quite interesting.
(In Shinmai Basara never really mastered Brynhildr or his powers even by volume 13 the final one. He never communicated with Brynhildr or the Cursed Spirit in the sword. The story ended before he even met either of his Mothers. I plan to fix some of that.
Also, Rossweisse didn't come to Japan as she is only 19 years old in DxD. Meaning, that she would be ten years old right now in 1998. A year younger than Jack.)
