CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE
Just as fast as a blink, Cherry felt footsteps behind her again.
Her heart raced, a chill creeping up her spine.
Trouble, she thought.
She picked up her pace, her legs moving quicker, but when she glanced back, there was no one.
Turning forward, she froze.
A man, draped in black from head to toe, stood in front of her, a black mask covering most of his face.
Cherry's breath quickened, fear knotting in her chest.
She took a slow step backward, her voice trembling.
"¿Quién eres? ¿Y por qué me sigues?" (Who are you? And why are you following me?)
The man stayed silent.
She edged further back, but the moment she tried to speed up, he lunged, grabbing her jacket in a tight grip.
"Come with me!"
Cherry's breathing became frantic.
"¡Déjame en paz! ¿Quién eres?" (Leave me alone! Who are you?) she shouted, but the man only tightened his hold.
