Max's eyes flew wide open, "You are joking right?"
"I have limits to my jokes." Liam replied casually.
"Does he know that you know him?" Max asked
"I don't know, I think he suspects me, but you might have just let him confirm his hunch." Liam shrugged his shoulders.
"You should actually be bothered about the oozing stuff Noah just talked about, you are too inexperienced and you went ahead and became a vampire, maybe there is something like vampire hunters like in movies." Liam continued.
"Yes there is." A crisp voice suddenly interrupted, melodious and calming.
Max and Liam immediately looked to see who it was.
And then, you have got to be kidding me!
The first time Max followed him out since he turned into a vampire, everyone they were avoiding were just being drawn to them like magnets.
What the hell is she doing here?!
"Who are you?" Max asked warily, he knew who she was but he just hoped she didn't know him.
"Don't stare at me with that look, the both of you, I hate pretence." Sophia said as she took a sit beside them gracefully, then she stared at Max, "we have to talk."
Sophia wore a white gown with a mix of flowered colours on it and then a jean jacket, as usual her hair was tied with a band, she held a cup of juice in her hand which she quietly sipped as she looked at them.
Liam and Max also stared at her, they didn't expect to meet two of their supposed nemesis here in a row. Especially this girl, Noah looked inexperienced, but the way this girl talked? She sounded like an old general.
Liam cleared his throat, "you guys can talk I will be going for lectures."
"And you too." Sophia said as she stared daggers at Liam, Liam felt like her eyes felt dangerous. So he simply remained on his seat.
"You stink." Sophia suddenly said as she looked at Max.
Max was surprised, I stink? You've got to be kidding me, I just took my bath!
But he didn't say it out loud.
"What are you?" Sophia suddenly turned towards Liam and asked.
Liam felt like even though his doubts were cleared about what those girls were saying the other day when he visited the cafeteria, he still felt like they were lunatics, because who dropped questions and remarks in quick succession, her thoughts were too jumpy.
"Me? Can't you see that I am normal?" Liam asked.
Sophia shook her head as she kept her cup on the table.
"You are not normal, but that's where I'm confused, I can't tell what you are ." Sophia said.
"Your friend here, what's your name?" Sophia said pointing at Max.
"Maxwell"
"Your friend here is a vampire, not a full vampire yet but he is one, I wonder how his mind is still rational after spending so much time in the initiate stage!" Sophia said in one breath.
"What do you mean?" Liam asked confused.
"I meant he is supposed to drink three fully grown adults blood to stabilize and formally be a level 1 vampire " Sophia replied.
"Level 1? there are level to these things?" Liam asked the question he's been wanting to ask for a long time now.
"Yeah, there is, his aura is stinking, although I'm no vampire hunter, if he kills anyone I'd be the first to kill him." Sophia's voice changed icily.
But Liam wasn't moved, he became angry instead. "Kill him? Why don't you go deal with Noah first before dealing with someone who haven't killed anyone."Liam spat.
"You weren't hypnotized that day as expected, you fooled us all." Sophia shook her head in self mock.
"Werewolves are different from vampires, they don't feel drawn to blood, but vampires can go crazy when they don't drink human blood for a long time." Sophia explained.
"Noah killed, Max hasn't, so choose your priorities smartly." Liam was vexed.
"Vampires lose control at the sight of blood and are disaster causing monsters, werewolves although similarly blood thirsty, they are not ridiculously drawn to blood like vampires and also Noah has someone behind him, someone that even my master warned me not to meddle with." Sophia said every word slowly.
"Someone is behind him?" Max who was quiet all these while asked.
"Yes, we don't know who or what it is but it is a tyrant force, a hidden one."
"You guys aren't the only one who became special, many others did, and that strange power is the one behind these mess, we don't know how they did it but people get powers suddenly including you two." Sophia explained.
Liam was confused, things were bigger than he thought.
"So you mean they must have done something to us to cause us to be this way?" Liam asked.
"Not necessarily, anyone that happens to become special due to whatever that power did, already has a faint gene in them of whatever they become, Max here has very diluted vampire blood, thats why he became a vampire." Sophia replied while sipping her juice.
"So not everyone can be special then."
"Yes, it's a very rare occurrence, no matter what is done, many are mortals."
"Wait, from what you are saying I have someone in my linage who was once a vampire?" Max asked after thinking about what Sophia just said.
"Exactly."
Liam who just heard what was said was dumbstruck.
Was he like his grandmother then?
He never told Max what happened exactly that caused his grandmom's death, but with what Sophia said, didn't that mean he was like his grandmom?
Sophia slowly stood up, "I still have many questions I'd like to know about you guys and I know you guys have questions too, but I have to go" She said as she turned around but she suddenly paused, turning around she said.
"Max I will advice you go to the blood bank and get some blood, as many as you can, how you get them is your business, consume them until you notice a change in you, I hate vampires but you seem like a nice guy, you might just have hours left!"
Hours left?
"Wait, what are you?" The question sounded silly but Liam had to ask, anything she was, was probably what his grandmom was and in turn be what he was.
Sophia didn't answer, she just left.
"Do it quick, your aura is leaking seriously and might draw in a vampire hunter, mind you, one of my friends is also a vampire hunter."
What the heck?
Did her voice just sound directly inside our head?
Liam and Max were dumbstruck.
