"That's true. But then again, is there anyone else alive in the Shimura family besides Danzo?" White Zetsu couldn't help but ask.
"I've confirmed that there are no survivors in the clan," Black Zetsu replied.
"Then why did Kirito say that he left incense for Danzo? Hey, it seems Kirito's shadow clone over there has met an opponent," White Zetsu exclaimed. In one of the houses within the Sarutobi clan's compound, Kirito was surrounded by several jonin, seven or eight special jonin, and a dozen chunin.
"Kirito, what are you trying to accomplish? Why are you attacking the Sarutobi clan?" The leading Sarutobi ninja questioned Kirito with a grim expression, hearing the screams of their clansmen in the surrounding courtyards.
While others might not recognize Kirito, the direct relatives of the Hokage wouldn't mistake him. They had been handling Sarutobi Hiruzen's dirty work for years, rivaling the Root organization in secrecy. This allowed the Sarutobi clan to grow from a small family into a powerful clan, comparable to the Uchiha.
"You can ask the Third Hokage when you meet him in the afterlife," Kirito said coldly. He raised his right hand, and with a sound like birds chirping, lightning surged in his palm, forming a sharp spear that extended dozens of meters and pierced through the lead Sarutobi jonin's throat. The jonin didn't even have time to scream before he lost consciousness, his life drained away instantly.
"Kill him!"
Terrified by Kirito's display, the remaining Sarutobi ninjas charged at him. Kirito swung his Chidori spear, cutting through the advancing jonin and special jonin in one swift motion, leaving them in a pool of blood.
"Run! It's a Rogue Ninja! Someone go inform the Hokage!"
The remaining Sarutobi chunin and jonin, shocked and terrified by what they saw, scrambled to flee. But Kirito wouldn't let them escape. The Chidori in his hand transformed into countless bolts of lightning that shot towards the Sarutobi clan members. In moments, all of the clan's high-ranking fighters were dead.
"What is that, Lightning Release? So powerful!" White Zetsu marveled.
Black Zetsu, the explainer, responded, "That's Chidori, the Lightning Release ninjutsu created by Kakashi. Kirito not only learned it but also altered its form. It now has medium and long-range capabilities, perfect for group attacks."
"Unbelievable. Even with just his shadow clone, he's able to unleash such powerful lightning ninjutsu. He's a monster."
As the massacre continued, elsewhere in Konoha, at the Three-Colored Meatball Shop...
"What the hell is up with the weather? It's almost seven o'clock, and it should be dark by now. This is unsettling," Asuma Sarutobi remarked, glancing at the clock on the wall, then at the blood-red sky outside. He couldn't shake a feeling of unease.
"It's strange," Kurenai Yuhi agreed, placing a hand on her chest, feeling anxious.
Nearly a year had passed since Kirito had confessed his feelings to her and said those cryptic words. During that time, they hadn't spoken or seen each other. If it weren't for running into Kakashi, who reassured her that Kirito was alive and well, Kurenai might have believed something terrible had happened to him.
Asuma and Kurenai's tension contrasted sharply with Might Guy, who, as always, was enthusiastically shouting about "youth," much to the irritation of Genma Shiranui, whose ears were nearly calloused from hearing it.
Kurenai, lost in thought about Kirito, suddenly stood up, tired of Guy's chatter. "That's enough for today. I've had my fill of meatballs. Time to go home."
Asuma tried to offer to walk her home, but Kurenai waved him off. "No need. I can manage on my own. I'm not a child. Besides, if you walk me home, what will others think?" she added, clearly referring to Kirito.
Without another word, she performed the body flicker technique and disappeared from the shop.
Asuma sighed in frustration, realizing his plan to pursue Kurenai had failed once again. After saying his goodbyes to Guy and Genma, he slowly made his way back home.
However, upon entering the Sarutobi compound, Asuma was immediately hit by the overwhelming stench of blood. The once lively residence was eerily silent, as if it had become a ghost town.
"What the hell is going on?"
A cold sweat dripped from Asuma's forehead. He hurried towards the inner quarters, only to find corpses scattered across the groundāhis clansmen, all dead. The sight left him screaming in horror, his mind reeling from the gruesome massacre.
"Ahhh!" At that moment, a child's scream pierced the air, snapping Asuma out of his shock.
"Konohamaru!" he gasped, recognizing his nephew's voice. Panic surged through him as he raced towards the source of the scream.
Meanwhile, Kirito had nearly wiped out every member of the Sarutobi clan within the compound. The only one left was Konohamaru, who had been hidden in a closet by one of the clan members. The boy was trembling in fear.
"This is the last one in the area. What do you plan to do, Kirito?" White Zetsu, hiding in the wall, asked in a voice only Kirito could hear.
Kirito shook his head. "No, not quite. There's still one more coming." As he spoke, he punched through the closet and pulled out the terrified Konohamaru.
The young boy began to cry, overwhelmed with fear as he stared at Kirito's cold, masked face. But Kirito showed no mercy. He swung his sword and sliced three small chunks of flesh from Konohamaru's lower body.
Konohamaru screamed in agony before his voice faded, and he passed out from the pain.
Kirito, however, was "kind" enough to stop the bleeding, ensuring the boy wouldn't die.
"You're not going to kill him?" Black Zetsu asked, surprised.
"No," Kirito replied, tossing the unconscious Konohamaru aside. "I said I'd leave a legacy for the Third Hokage, and I intend to keep my word. I can't show favoritism."
"Uh, Kirito, is this what you call leaving a legacy?" White Zetsu was bewildered. Even though he wasn't human, he knew that without certain...parts, Konohamaru wouldn't be able to have Children.
