Chapter 43 - Chapter:43

(Free Trial ends Tonight Grab Your seat).

Fugaku looked at Mikoto and spoke sternly, "Mikoto, you should know that the Uchiha clan is finished. As the head of the Uchiha clan, I will die in the line of duty — it's my responsibility. But you're different. You're not only a member of the Uchiha clan but also Sasuke's mother. I don't want that child to live in darkness for the rest of his life."

In truth, Fugaku never wanted to burden himself with such a decision. But if Mikoto were to die, based on how events were unfolding, Itachi, following the orders of the Konoha higher-ups, might eventually turn on Kirito. Given Kirito's vengeful nature, he wouldn't show any mercy.

Kirito was capable of silently exterminating both the Shimura and Sarutobi clans, so there was a strong possibility that Itachi could meet his end at Kirito's hands. And if his eldest son died, Sasuke would be in even greater danger.

For the sake of his sons and the revival of the Uchiha clan, Fugaku had no choice but to entrust Mikoto to Kirito.

"Sasuke..." Mikoto's heart softened at the mention of her son. She lowered her head, remaining silent.

"Please, Kirito." Fugaku bowed deeply to him.

Mikoto hesitated for a moment but then knelt with tears in her eyes.

"I understand. Taking her out won't be difficult, but ensuring her safety afterward will be. She knows the truth about the Uchiha clan's extermination. If people find out she's still alive, it could lead to a lot of trouble."

"In other words, Aunt Mikoto, for a long time to come, you'll need to fake your death and stay hidden. You won't be able to see Sasuke. As for Itachi, that will be impossible too."

Kirito glanced at Mikoto with admiration but ultimately couldn't resist the temptation of the beautiful woman, the potential wife, and the allure of pure gold that granted immortality. He agreed to Fugaku's conditions.

"Thank you so much." Uchiha Mikoto closed her eyes in anguish, her tears flowing uncontrollably.

"Time is running out. I'll now use a special sealing technique to place you in a different dimension, much like I did with Izumi. I'll create an illusion powerful enough to fool the Mangekyō Sharingan, making it seem like Itachi killed you instead. Once we reach a safe place, I'll release you."

With that, Kirito summoned a crow, drew his Zanpakutō from his waist, and whispered, "Shatter! Kyōka Suigetsu."

In an instant, Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto felt their souls briefly sway. When they refocused, they realized that the crow beside Kirito had transformed into a perfect copy of Mikoto.

"It's truly an incredible skill. The appearance, and even the chakra, are nearly identical," Fugaku remarked, his Mangekyō Sharingan wide open in astonishment.

"Now, let's begin," Kirito said, stepping forward to Uchiha Mikoto. "Are you ready?"

Mikoto glanced at Fugaku one last time, and Fugaku smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Mikoto. Sasuke will need you in the future."

Hearing this, Mikoto nodded sadly. She knew this would be their final goodbye.

Without further hesitation, Kirito pressed the pressure point on Mikoto's neck, rendering her unconscious. He then quickly formed hand seals, placing his palms on her chest. Before Fugaku's shocked gaze, Mikoto was stored away in Kirito's system space.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Itachi arrived at Uchiha Izumi's residence.

He knew Kirito was a formidable foe. To be cautious, Itachi decided to leave Izumi for last.

He dealt with his parents first.

Carefully opening the door, Itachi found no traps. Uchiha Izumi lay peacefully on her bed, still asleep. Itachi felt a pang of surprise.

Could something have happened to Kirito?

He had initially thought that Kirito hadn't shown up because he discovered something and planned to leave Konoha with Uchiha Izumi. Now, seeing Izumi still here but Kirito absent, Itachi concluded that Kirito must have encountered some difficulty — possibly with Konoha's higher-ups.

Either he had been delayed or eliminated by Danzo.

After all, Shisui's fate had been a clear warning.

With this thought, Uchiha Itachi dismissed his suspicions and raised his blade to kill "Uchiha Izumi."

However, the next moment, an odd feeling washed over him.

He stepped forward and pinched Izumi's face to examine her more closely. Realizing something was off, he left the room in an instant.

"It seems I was overthinking things. The next confrontation will be between Mangekyō users."

Itachi whispered to himself, quickening his pace as he headed towards his home.

"Your beloved son is approaching. Does he have any unfulfilled wishes?" Kirito sensed Itachi's chakra drawing near and, noticing that the system had yet to reward him, casually asked Fugaku.

Fugaku nodded, retrieving a scroll of the Uchiha clan's ninjutsu from a hidden compartment in the room. He handed it to Kirito. "Your illusion was powerful enough to deceive my Mangekyō Sharingan, meaning your illusion abilities surpass even that of the Mangekyō. If Itachi were to attack you,He might not survive."

"I hope you'll spare Itachi for Mikoto's sake. After this, I believe he won't dare attack you again."

"As a token of my gratitude, I can offer you this."

Fugaku then pulled out a letter from his robes, the word "divorce" clearly written on it.

"What are you implying?" Kirito asked, confused.

"Remember what I said about you being the hope for the Uchiha clan's revival?" Fugaku smiled bitterly, kneeling beside the illusion of Mikoto. "At first, I thought you would save a few of the clan members. But then, just now, I saw you and Mikoto simultaneously with my Mangekyō."

"What did you see?" Kirito asked, feeling a bit guilty, worried that Fugaku had noticed his desire for Mikoto.

Fugaku smiled sadly and shook his head. "No, it's nothing. From now on, Mikoto is no longer my wife. I hope you can treat her well and spare Itachi. As for Sasuke, please take care of him when you can."

With that, Uchiha Fugaku closed his eyes, awaiting death.

Hearing Fugaku's words, Kirito contemplated their meaning. He had no intention of killing Itachi at this moment. In some ways, leaving Itachi to carry the burden of his actions, as in the original timeline, was the harshest punishment.

"Alright, I promise you," Kirito finally replied.

As his words fell, a system prompt echoed in his mind:

[Ding! Congratulations, host, for obtaining 1kg of pure gold from the Pirate World. It has been automatically stored in the system warehouse.]

Kirito retrieved the pure gold, cutting off a small piece. Using his lightning and fire-style chakra, he melted it into a round ring. Holding it in his hand, he whispered, "Izumi is only thirteen, and Hinata is even younger. This first pure gold ring will be for Kurenai."
