Five hours later, the blonde man slowly regained consciousness. His head throbbed, and his vision was blurry as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. He attempted to move but quickly realized he was bound by ropes, his arms and legs securely tied. Panic surged through him as well as his anger, he struggled against his restraints, but they held firm, he wanted to use his supernatural strength but stopped as he looked around the dimly lit room, his eyes adjusting to the darkness. He was lying on a worn-out sofa, and the faint glow of a streetlamp outside cast eerie shadows on the walls. He saw a man stood by the window, nervously peering out into the night. He wore a blue sky shirt and shorts, his posture tense as he scanned the surroundings.
The man by the window must have sensed the blonde's awakening because he turned around, his eyes widening in surprise. A smile spread across his face, but it was tinged with disbelief. The blonde man stared back at him, his gaze cold and dangerous, a silent warning that one wrong move could be his last.
The man in the blue shirt swallowed hard, his smile faltering. He approached the sofa cautiously, raising his hands in a gesture of peace. "Hey there," he greeted, his voice shaky. "I know this looks bad, but I promise I'm not here to hurt you."
The blonde man's brows furrowed, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. He didn't understand a word the man was saying, but the tone was clear enough. He remained silent, his intense stare never wavering.
The man in the blue shirt sighed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "Right... you don't understand me, how could you when you're not even from around here?" he muttered to himself as he chuckled awkwardly like a crazy man. He took a deep breath and tried again, speaking slowly and clearly, with hand gestures, though it made no difference. "My name is Min suu, park min suu. I found you unconscious and brought you here to keep you safe. The police are looking for you, and I thought... well, I thought you might need help."
The blonde man's expression didn't soften, but he remained silent, listening. Suddenly Min Suu moved, grabbed a chair and sat infront of him, before he came closer to him and continued, his voice earnest. "I don't know who you are or what you've done, but I can see you're in trouble. If you let me, I want to help you. But first, you need to trust me first"
The room fell silent, the tension thick in the air. The blonde man weighed his options, his mind racing. He didn't know what the guy was saying, but for some reason which he himself wasn't sure why, he could sense something the same as the one he felt with Hee Jin with this man as he stares at him, the willingness of helping him and curiosity of who he was. he couldn't know if he should trust this man, but for now, he had no other choice. He gave a slight nod, his eyes never leaving min suu.
Min suu
let out a relieved breath, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "Okay, let's get those ropes off you," he said, moving to untie the knots. "And then we can figure out what to do next."
As Min suu worked on the ropes, the blonde man remained vigilant, ready to act at the first sign of betrayal. He didn't know what the future held, but he was determined to find out who he was and why he had these extraordinary abilities.
But as soon as Min suu untied the last knot, the blonde man sprang into action. With lightning speed, he lunged at Minsuu, his hands wrapping around Min suu's throat in a vice-like grip. Min suu gasped, struggling to breathe, his vision starting to blur. Just as he felt himself slipping into unconsciousness, a sharp pain exploded at the back of his head.
The blonde man slumped to the floor, unconscious once more. Min Suu fell to his knees, coughing and gasping for air. He looked up to see his pregnant wife, Ji Hyun, standing over him, a frying pan in her hands. Her face was a mix of anger and fear.
"I told you we shouldn't have brought him here," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
Min suu rubbed his sore throat, trying to catch his breath. "Ji Hyun, we both saw what happened. This man came out of nowhere."
Ji Hyun's eyes flashed with anger. "All the more reason to leave him in the streets and let the police handle it!"
Min suu shook his head, his expression resolute. "If the police find out how he got here, they'll turn him into a lab rat instead of investigating him."
Ji Hyun continued to argue, her voice rising. "Min suu, even if you're a member of the Paranormal Investigation Unit, we should let the police handle this." She took his hand and placed it on her five-month belly. "Think about our baby. If anything happens to us because of this man, we'll be putting our child in danger."
Min stared at her, his mind racing. He thought about what he had seen other scientists do to humans in their investigations. He couldn't imagine what they would do to this man. He shook his head, his resolve hardening. "I won't let anything happen to our child, nor to this man. I can't send him to the labs and let those people tear him to pieces just to find out who he is and how he got here. I've seen too many people die without doing anything. Now, I have a chance to save someone."
Ji Hyun scowled at him, her frustration evident. "You're too stubborn for your own good," she muttered before turning and storming off to their bedroom.
Min suu sighed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on him. He quickly tied the blonde man up again, making sure the knots were secure. Then, he went to coax his angry, pregnant wife, hoping to find a way to keep both his family and the mysterious stranger safe.
