Chapter 2 - Man's salvation

"Finally!" one of the battered officers groaned, struggling to his feet. His eyes locked onto the woman who had just electrocuted the blonde assailant.

"You guys alright?" she asked, her gaze sweeping over the men sprawled on the ground.

Lee Sung, his voice raspy, managed to croak out, "Yeah, yeah, totally," as he stood up, facing the woman. She smirked at him before turning her attention back to the unconscious man.

"He's out cold," she declared, eyeing the strikingly handsome fugure before her. "Nice looks and knows how to throw a punch. Once we get some intel on him, he's mine."

"Seriously, Hee Jin?" Dae Hyun couldn't believe his ears. He stared at Hee jin, incredulous. The way the man fought, it was clear he wasn't just any ordinary citizen. He had to be a gangster or something... though his appearance didn't quite fit the mold.

The officers gathered around, exchanging glances. "What do we do with him?" one of them asked, staring at the unconscious man before them, breaking the silence.

"We take him in," Hee Jin said firmly. "But first, let's get him to the station. He needs to be questioned."

"Questioned? He's out cold," Lee Sung pointed out.

"Then we'll throw him in a cell until he wakes up," Hee Jin replied, her tone leaving no room for argument.

They hauled the unconscious man to the police station, his limp form dragging slightly on the ground. Once there, they unceremoniously dumped him into a cell, locking the door behind them.

Hours later, the man stirred, his eyes fluttering open.

.....

I jolted awake as if struck by lightning. The moment I sat up, a throbbing pain surged through my head again, but this time it was accompanied by a piercing ring in my ears that made me grimace. I had to stop this, or I wouldn't be able to figure out what was happening. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. Inhaling and exhaling deeply, I focused on steadying myself. After a moment, the throbbing subsided, and the ringing faded, leaving me in blessed silence.

I opened my eyes and scanned my surroundings. I was locked up, confined in some kind of dungeon. Rising to my feet, I tried to piece together where I was. Then I saw them—the people who had attacked me. The memories flooded back: I had fought back, but one of them had done something to me, and I had blacked out.

Now, I wanted revenge. But first, I needed to escape this dungeon.

...

One of the officers was making his way to Hee Jin's desk when he noticed the man sitting up. His eyes widened in surprise as he quickened his pace, ready to alert the others.

"Oh, Hee Jin..." he called out, eyes fixed on the blonde guy. "Your blonde's awake."

Hee Jin turned her head, her gaze locking onto the man. "Finally," she muttered.

"Let's start interrogating this guy," he said, striding towards the cell. But he halted abruptly when he noticed the man sitting there, eyes closed, breathing deeply.

He took a step back and returned to Hee Jin's desk, leaning in to whisper, "What's he doing? Praying or something?"

"He's calming his nerves, you dumbrain," Hee Jin replied, rolling her eyes.

The man, still smarting from being called a dumbrain, suggested, "Should I go get him then?"

Hee Jin shot him a sharp look. "No, don't. Let's see what he does, i got a strong feelinghe'll do something stupid."

The man sigh as he returned his gaze back to the blonde who 'is calming his nerves as she said'

They both stood there, watching as the blonde man continued his deep breathing. Slowly, he opened his eyes and stared back at them, his gaze unwavering. He rose to his feet and approached the metal bars, gripping them tightly.

The man chuckled nervously. "What's he planning to do, break out?"

Hee Jin didn't respond, her eyes narrowing as she studied the blonde man. The tension in the room was palpable, each side waiting for the other to make a move.

Before they could react, their eyes widened in shock as the blonde man effortlessly bent the metal bars with his bare hands. Hee Jin and her colleague stood frozen, unable to believe what they were seeing.

The man stared directly at Hee Jin, his expression unreadable. She, too, was momentarily stunned, but quickly regained her composure. They both approached him cautiously, trying to calm their nerves.

"Easy there," Hee Jin said, her voice steady but firm. "No need to do anything rash."

Her colleague, still in disbelief, added, "Yeah, let's just talk this out."

The blonde man continued to grip the bent bars, his eyes flicking between the two officers and the others whom he felt the danger they gave out. The tension was thick, but Hee Jin held her ground, determined to keep the situation under control.

Hee Jin cautiously reached out her hand to the blonde man's arm and her colleague saw what she was doing " Hee jin, what are you doing?" He asked as he stared at Hee Jin's arm which was reaching out to the blonde's arm. But Hee Jin didn't answer, instead she continued her approach. She placed her hand on the blonde man's arm, which was still gripping the bent bars. The moment he felt her arm on his, he threw her a striking gaze as if asking" what the f**k are you doing? But yet said nothing, but his eyes alone could speak in many ways.

But HeeJin didn't flinch, instead she smiled at him "Hey, it's okay," she said softly, her voice soothing. "Just let go. We can talk."

....

I didn't understand a word she said but I knew she was trying to communicate with me, and probably telling me they are not my enemies, but who am I to believe her when i remember clearly they attacked me a moment ago and even made me unconscious In ways I wasn't familiar with. But, seeing that she was trying to help and communicate....

friendly, I calmed my nerves and followed her lead.

Beside, I didn't know where I was or who I was, no matter how many times I tried to trigger my memories of even what happened forget about who I was,my head would throb endlessly, refusing to corporate with me, thus with no other choice, I needed even the slightest help I could find in this place, maybe I'll find out what happened to me.

.....

The man's intense gaze softened slightly as he looked at her. Slowly, he released his grip on the bars and stepped through the gap he had created. Hee Jin guided him gently, walking alongside him as they made their way to her desk, leaving her colleague completely shocked by what was happening, the man following her quietly, not saying anything or retort....

Truly, a woman, is everyman salvation.... even if she was a complete stranger.

As they passed by, the other officers stared in shock at the bent bars, unable to comprehend the sheer strength it took to bend them so easily especially when those bars were created by a strong metal. Whispers of disbelief filled the room, but Hee Jin remained focused, leading the man to a chair in front of her desk.

"Sit down," she instructed, her tone calm but authoritative. The man not understanding anything, he only glared at her as she sat, before she told him once more to sit down with signs did he finally comply, sitting down and looking around the room warily.

Hee Jin took her seat behind the desk, her eyes never leaving his. "Let's start with your name," she said, trying to establish a connection. The room fell silent, everyone waiting to see how the mysterious man would respond.

But what shocked all of them the most was his Silence.

His lips were tight and no word came out of them nor reaction. Only his eyes wondering everywhere on her as if studying her with his gaze. His expression didn't change and only stared at Hee jin who also waited for him to answer.

But moments passed and no word came out of his lips.

Hee jin sigh as she bent forward and talked to him calmly, trying to manipulate him to speak with her calm womanly voice " sir, we need you to cooperate if you want us to help you and figure out what happened to you, so please answer our question" she asked him again " What's.....your name?"

.....

I could tell she was asking me something but I didn't know what it was, the language she spoke was foreign to my ears as I couldn't understand a word she was saying, I needed to find a way to communicate with her to inform me where I was and help me figure out what happened to I, what how? I had no idea.

....

"Should we beat him up and force him to talk?"

Her colleague asked her as he stared at him with a smirk.

HeeJin stared back at him and smiled asbshe answered " Yeah, that's a good idea Lee Sung why don't you beat him to a pulp and force him to talk and get yourself broke into half?" She asked mockingly , before her smile disappeared and talked to him more seriously now " have you seen those bars ?"

She asked as she pointed at the bent bars before she said " those were supposed to be unbendable and yet he bent them as if they weigh nothing, and you're talking about beating him to a pulp?"

Lee Sung knew she had a point thus he said nothing and only sigh as he sat beside them " Well then do your womanly magic on him. Make him talk"

Hee Jin smiled at Lee Sung and told him

"Gladly"
