"Mom, is that okay?"

Qian Renjue hugged Bibi Dong's neck, his eyes full of anticipation.

Bibi Dong looked at Qian Renxue, her gaze showing a struggle, but under Qian Renjue's persistent pleading, she finally nodded.

"Great, then, Mom, quickly—"

Before he could finish, Bibi Dong interrupted him.

"Jue, don't rush, okay? Mom will do it."

"Mhm, I'm not in a rush," Qian Renjue earnestly nodded, his eyes still filled with expectation.

"Good boy~" Bibi Dong gently stroked Qian Renjue's head, her gaze showing a hint of affection.

She no longer pretended to be distant, pushing him away, but instead did what she wanted to do.

"Then, how about Mom reads with Jue for now?" Qian Renjue sat in Bibi Dong's lap, putting away his snacks and holding a book.

"Mhm," Bibi Dong nodded slightly, gently embracing Qian Renjue's small frame and couldn't help but rub his soft little belly.

It felt pretty nice, soft and comfortable to the touch.

"Haha, Mom, that tickles!" Qian Renjue quickly put down the book, grabbing Bibi Dong's playful hand.

"Sorry, Mom won't do it anymore," Bibi Dong's face turned a bit red.

She hadn't expected that taking care of a child could be so easy and enjoyable.

If only she had realized this earlier in the past two years, the feeling would have been even better!

"It's okay." Qian Renjue chuckled, slightly out of breath, his face red and looking even more endearing.

Bibi Dong, feeling a bit regretful, lightly caressed his chubby cheeks.

Unconsciously, the cold killing intent she usually carried seemed to fade away.

Qian Renjue looked up and smiled at her brightly before opening the book to start reading.

Bibi Dong also directed her attention to the book in his hands, the same wrinkled one she had nearly torn apart earlier.

"Jue, you're probably ready to add your first spirit ring, right?"

"Yes, Dad said tomorrow—" Qian Renjue suddenly stopped mid-sentence, quickly covering his mouth and cautiously glancing at Bibi Dong.

"..."

Bibi Dong's killing intent briefly flared up before she regained her composure, rubbing his head and gently comforting him.

"It's okay, Jue."

Qian Renjue earnestly nodded in response.

Then, Bibi Dong picked up the wrinkled book and suggested, "Since you'll be hunting spirit beasts tomorrow, how about we read this book? It might help you with choosing your spirit ring."

"Okay, no problem," Qian Renjue agreed enthusiastically, looking at the book in her hands.

But when he noticed the title "Ten Major Theories" on the cover, his smile froze slightly, showing a bit of displeasure.

Bibi Dong opened the first page, where a grand statement was written, seemingly reflecting ambition:

'There are no useless martial souls, only useless spirit masters!'

Qian Renjue furrowed his brows deeper,

"Mom, can we not read this book?"

"Hm?"

Bibi Dong, who had been engrossed in the bold words, returned to her senses, looking slightly puzzled.

"Why, Jue?"

"Because I've read it before, and it's wrong," Qian Renjue responded seriously.

Bibi Dong frowned slightly, patiently asking, "Why do you think that?"

Qian Renjue replied, "Mom, you know that absorbing spirit rings under ten thousand years old depends on the spirit master's physical condition, right?"

"Of course I know that," Bibi Dong nodded.

"Then why does this book set a rigid limit on the years of spirit rings? Every spirit master's physique is different."

Qian Renjue turned and gently hugged Bibi Dong's neck, his face full of confusion.

"..."

Bibi Dong was momentarily stunned. She opened her mouth but couldn't think of a rebuttal.

Qian Renjue tilted his head, as if in deep thought, and then said, "Well, it's not entirely wrong."

Hearing this, a glimmer of light appeared in Bibi Dong's eyes.

Qian Renjue continued, "The highest recorded spirit ring years in major texts do match this theory, but this book drew absolute conclusions without practical verification. It feels like a case of closed-door theorizing."

"..."

The light in Bibi Dong's eyes dimmed again, leaving her speechless.

Seeing Bibi Dong's disappointment, Qian Renjue gently patted her cheek and said, "Mom, it's okay, let's read my book instead, okay?"

"Mhm, let's not read this one anymore," Bibi Dong, now feeling embarrassed and even a bit ridiculous, put the wrinkled book on the table and pushed it aside.

But out of curiosity, she asked, "Jue, have you decided what the age of your first spirit ring will be?"

"Of course!" Qian Renjue nodded excitedly, his face brimming with pride.

"My first spirit ring, and Sister's, will definitely be a thousand-year one!"

Bibi Dong furrowed her brows, her eyes filled with concern.

"A thousand-year spirit ring? Jue, are you joking with Mom?"

"Nope," Qian Renjue shook his head, explaining, "Both Sister and I have innate full spirit power, level 20, which means we already have the physical strength of a Spirit Grandmaster. At the very least, we can handle a seven or eight hundred-year spirit ring."

Upon hearing this, Bibi Dong couldn't help but nod.

Seven or eight hundred years seemed more reasonable than a full thousand.

"Then how do you plan to get a thousand-year ring?"

"That's thanks to whale jelly," Qian Renjue replied, retrieving a golden piece of whale glue from his storage tool.

"Mom, look! This is a piece of thousand-year whale jelly from the brain of a whale-type spirit beast."
