Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Live Q&A System

"Ugh, tomorrow is the day for Martial Soul Awakening, but why hasn't my golden finger appeared yet?"

"Could it be that I'm not the protagonist but just a side character? Even though I've transmigrated, I'll just have to watch Tang San show off? I refuse to accept this!"

On the Douluo Continent, in the Haagen-Dazs Kingdom, Windmill Village.

In the early morning, a five- or six-year-old boy with a delicate face lay sprawled out on a grassy hillside behind the village, his eyes listlessly gazing at the sunrise. He muttered to himself.

His name was Lin Yu, a transmigrator to the Douluo Continent.

But unlike the protagonists in other Douluo fanfics, Lin Yu hadn't transmigrated to the legendary Holy Soul Village, nor to places like Heaven Dou City, Spirit City, or the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan.

Instead, he found himself in Haagen-Dazs Kingdom, a place that, although it appeared in the original work, had no real presence or importance. He became a member of a small, ordinary village within this kingdom, called Windmill Village.

The name "Windmill Village" was well-known in Lin Yu's previous life on the internet.

But unfortunately, there was no "Wang Luffy" beside him, nor was there anyone yelling about becoming a Titled Douluo!

As a member of this ordinary village, Lin Yu's parents, who had passed away, were also ordinary people.

According to the rules of Martial Soul inheritance on the Douluo Continent, Lin Yu had almost no chance of becoming a Soul Master.

This left Lin Yu feeling very frustrated.

His only hope of becoming a Soul Master now was to activate the legendary golden finger that every transmigrator should have.

But unfortunately, tomorrow was the day of Martial Soul Awakening, and still, there was no sign of anything happening. Activating a golden finger seemed like nothing more than a distant dream.

But just as Lin Yu was feeling disheartened...

Outside the Douluo Continent world, a golden streak of light suddenly pierced through the endless void, shot into the world of Douluo, and finally entered Douluo Star, hovering above the Douluo Continent.

In an instant, an invisible wave swept across the entire Douluo Continent.

It covered every corner, including the Boundless Sea, Sea God Island, and the Extreme North.

At that moment, in the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan, Ning Fengzhi was reading in an elegantly decorated study.

However, as the invisible wave passed by, Ning Fengzhi's vision suddenly went dark.

When his sight returned, a scene that looked like a virtual illusion appeared before his eyes.

It was a world that resembled a fairyland, but now it was engulfed in the flames of war.

In the sky, a giant nine-colored dragon flapped its wings, roaring furiously as it engaged in a fierce battle with five figures clad in luxurious clothing.

On the ground, countless giant dragons and beasts roamed, roaring and rampaging as they fought with other elaborately dressed figures.

Both sides seemed immensely powerful; each strike could obliterate large swaths of forest, carve deep craters into the earth, or even cleave a mountain in half!

It didn't seem like a battle between humans and soul beasts, but rather a clash between gods and divine beasts!

The scene was so incredibly lifelike that it felt as if he were truly there. The ferocious roars of the beasts shook Ning Fengzhi's eardrums, and the terrifying attacks made his heart pound.

"What...what is this? Could someone have cast an illusion on me?" Ning Fengzhi took a deep breath, feeling shaken by the sight before him.

Because this illusion was far too realistic!

"Rongrong, is this one of your pranks? Stop playing around; Daddy's reading and doesn't have time to play with you!"

Thinking that only his daughter, Ning Rongrong, would dare to mess with him, Ning Fengzhi frowned and looked towards the door.

Although it didn't seem like something his daughter could create, he thought that perhaps Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo, who doted on Ning Rongrong, might have given her some special soul tool from the now-destroyed Soul Tool Empire to prank him.

But after calling out, there was no response from outside the study, making Ning Fengzhi more uncertain.

Could it be that it wasn't his daughter?

Just as Ning Fengzhi was about to stand up and investigate, hurried footsteps echoed from outside the study.

"Clan Leader, something terrible has happened! Something terrible has happened!"

Soon, a middle-aged man burst into the study, half-kneeling before Ning Fengzhi in panic.

"What is it? What's happened that has you so alarmed?"

Seeing the man's frantic state, Ning Fengzhi frowned and asked.

"Clan Leader, it seems that we've all fallen under someone's illusion. A strange vision appeared before us, but we can't find the source of the soul skill!"

The man's voice was filled with urgency.

"A vision...a giant nine-colored dragon fighting five people, right?"

Ning Fengzhi paused, then nodded silently and replied.

"Yes!" The middle-aged man nodded vigorously, and then, as if realizing something, he stared at Ning Fengzhi in disbelief.

"C-Clan Leader, could it be...you're under this illusion too?!"

"Yes." Ning Fengzhi nodded silently.

Suddenly, accompanied by the sound of something slicing through the air, a stern-looking middle-aged man in a blue robe with silver hair and another man in black armor, with a gloomy aura and long black hair, walked in with serious expressions.

"Clan Leader!"

As they entered the study, the two men immediately bowed to Ning Fengzhi.

"Uncle Sword, Uncle Bone, could it be that you're also under this illusion?"

Although they hadn't spoken yet, the serious expressions on Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo's faces made Ning Fengzhi's heart sink.

And in response to Ning Fengzhi's question, the two men exchanged a glance before nodding in silence.

Receiving their confirmation, Ning Fengzhi felt a growing sense of unease.

He realized that this situation wasn't as simple as he had thought.

And indeed, it wasn't.

At this moment, not only the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan but also Spirit City, the Clear Sky Clan, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Clan, Heaven Dou Palace, Star Luo Palace, Holy Soul Village...

Even those in the City of Slaughter and Sea God Island were "caught" in this strange illusion, witnessing the bizarre scene.

And it wasn't just humans. In the core of the Star Dou Forest, in the Boundless Sea, and the Extreme North, even soul beasts over 100,000 years old were not exempt.

For a time, the entire Douluo Continent was thrown into confusion and shock, with everyone bewildered and puzzled by the strange vision before them.

Except for one person.

Back in Windmill Village.

Lin Yu had already stood up, his excitement palpable as he absorbed the information about the system that had just bound to him.

The reason everyone on the Douluo Continent was "caught" in this illusion and witnessing the vision was due to the system that had bound itself to Lin Yu.

In reality, this wasn't an illusion at all. Instead, everyone had been drawn into a mysterious live-streaming room. The system that had bound to Lin Yu was called the Worldwide Live Q&A System!

...

["Ding! The Worldwide Live Q&A System is now binding... Binding complete!"]

["Congratulations, host, for becoming the live-streaming room's owner, unlocking all supreme permissions!"]

["Retrieving all members of the Douluo Continent... Retrieval complete!"]

["Randomly selecting an event to broadcast... Selection complete!"]

["Now broadcasting: The Great Calamity of the God Realm!"]

As the cold, mechanical voice finished speaking in his mind, a stream of information poured into Lin Yu's brain, detailing the system's functions and his privileges as the room owner.

After reviewing the information, Lin Yu had a general understanding of the system's capabilities.

The Live Q&A System, as the name suggests, operates through live broadcasts and question-and-answer sessions.

The system would pull everyone in the world into a live-streaming room, then randomly select historical events from the past, present, or future of that world, and ask the participants questions.

Correct answers would be rewarded, while incorrect ones would incur penalties.

However, upon reading this, Lin Yu's mouth couldn't help but twitch.

Because it seemed that as the host and room owner, he too had to answer the questions.

So after all this, it turned out that as the host and room owner, he was just like any other participant in the live-streaming room?

But this was just a general overview of the system's functions. Lin Yu then looked at the room owner's privileges, which made him feel much better.

The room owner's privileges were numerous, especially when it came to answering the questions, such as:

Each time during the Q&A, the host's answers can be hidden and won't appear on the public screen in the live-streaming room.

The host can be exempt from the punishment for three wrong answers during each live stream.

The host can know whether an answer is correct before submitting it during each live-stream event.

Upon receiving a reward for a correct answer, if the reward is random, the host can specify the desired reward within the random range.

Any items lost by others due to punishment during a Q&A session will automatically be transferred to the host.
