I knew his son would look like him, but making him identical to his father is cruelty, come on. And though I know he had two sons, I can feel in my bones that the ones staring at me is the one Markus called Davon, the oldest, the Crowned Prince, my target. He is identical, a real doppelganger of his father, even the mismatched ruby and dark pink eyes, that Eric once told me he got the red from his dad and the dark pink from his mom, I guess it remained.
Pain burned in my soul, and felt the little color I still have drain from my face, my eyes darkening. It hurt so much that I couldn't look at him, I avoided his eyes, feeling lost for a second, and going back to the Headmaster. But I could still feel his gaze igniting my skin, I bet Eric told his children to make a living hell of the life of any Valentine that came in this exchange, I wouldn't blame him.
Swallowing, I slapped the dark red rubberband on my left wrist, that I slap it everytime I think about Eric, about his lips, about all that I had until I lost it. It's made of a material found in Tartarus and I made it myself, it actually hurts, and it's a pain a need, a pain that make me snap, or at least, tries to.
"Just don't let your little fairies off the hook, or let them mess with me, because I'm already on the edge with her entire order just because of that damned bitch right there," I pointed my chin to Ria. "And if she mess with me again, I will attack her for real, because she just gave me and Bianca a reason to do so. Payback. And if anyone offend my mother, I will not stay still."
"Don't worry, Aura acted wrong, and I will have a personal talk with her later for this. Not reasoning her, but she's always been hot-tempered when it came to your mother and the traitors."
"If you allow your people to mistreat, humiliate, and bully the exchange students, why do the program at all?" I glared at her. "And I don't see how the exiled nobles would be traitors, if they stayed loyal to those they swore their loyalty to, the previous rulers. Now, in the big picture, the traitors were the current houses in power, who not only swore loyalty to the previous rulers, as they went there and murdered them. You can be annoyed by it, but it's simple logic, calling them traitors is bland hypocrisy from your part."
"What do you even know of our history if you're a newcomer who has never set foot in the Fae Kingdom of Nyx?" He asked me, I didn't look at him, but I knew it was him, his voice is also identical but angrier, and I would recognize that voice anywhere, it still haunts me until this day.
"Parents tend to pass down their knowledge to their kids," it's all I said, without looking at him, instead I was looking at my boots, they suddenly felt really interesting.
"Should we get back to the tradition, Headmaster?" That sweet familiar voice spoke and I instantly turned my eyes to her, unable to hide my smile at the sight of my best friend, and she smiled back. "Alyssa, right? I was close to your mom."
"I know. Irina, the witch of fate, right?" Tartarus, I'm happy to see her.
"Wait, was Irina the one your mother told you to be the only fae you should trust in here?" Headmaster asked.
"With all due respect, headmaster, it doesn't concern you," I said dryly at her. "You don't really care, you're just interested in me because I'm a fox," I scoffed. "It was accidental, I shouldn't have showed it to anyone, faes aren't worthy of seeing it, it's demon divine power, not meant for you, it's meant for us damned."
"Damned?" She frowned.
"A slang for demons," Irina said, rolling her shoulders. "Alamea used it too. Now, Headmaster Georgina, can we start the ritual? There's a lot of kids, and they gotta be settled in their houses, so the school year can begin. And also settled in their years, so the rest can also be settled."
Putting herself together, she put the confident back on, "Alright. Dwarves first, then the giants, the humans, the exiled, and lastly the demons, from youngest to oldest." Hah, this bitch is leaving me at last. "You can join the other demons in the easternmost corner, Alyssa," she pointed to where they were, far behind me, all watching me with a mix of different emotions.
"I'll take her with me," I said, grabbing Bianca's wrist on my way to them.
"You are so badass," Bianca beamed, nearly jumping with excitement.
"Then let's start," Headmaster exclaimed, finally leaving me the hell alone. "You have the list with all of them, Irina, it's in your hands now. Be a witch of fate."

I had forgotten how long this fucking takes.
Each person takes about five minutes, and there's 169 people before me.
That's 845 minutes, which if you don't know, it's a bloody fucking lot.
We got here around 5 am in fae time, at 10 am we finished the cleaning and came here, 30 minutes passed counting the mess with the fairy and the monologue of the Headmaster, it's 00:30 now, 14 HOURS after we started. I had no idea it would take this long, since my first and my second time here, they did the demons first so they would leave first, but the headmaster fucked with me. I'm so annoyed that I've been nearly growling my heart out under my breath like a beast for more than an hours, eyes closed, jaw and fists clenched. To make worse, he is still in here, because as he's the head of one of the houses, they have to stay, the head of the four houses and four members of each that make their own top 5, for whatever reason I didn't remember.
Bianca was right when she said she would fall in Poisontail, she did fall in, however, for some reason, she was put in sophomore year, which is the 3rd one, and Irina never makes mistakes, she simply read our souls and say where we are fated to be, I've always fell in Freshman I, so I never thought much about it. Freshman I, freshman II, sophomore, junior, and senior years, from 1st to 5th. Which is even more annoying is that Markus and the fairy said that all Royals and Noble heirs are in the 3rd year.
Then it got weirder, because it was the times for us, demons, to go.
Naomi went first, she fell in Windspear, but in sophomore year.
Maddie went next, as I expected, she got Nightwing, and also a sophomore.
Lou was the third, she got Mantisclaw, and was put in sophomore year.
Then the twins, Dexter and Maddox, both Nightwing and sophomores.
When Kat went up, I already knew hers. Poisontail and sophomore.
Alec wasn't a surprise either, Nightwing and sophomore year.
In Jade's time she got Windspear and like the others, was put in sophomore.
Iris was the last one before me, she fell in Mantisclaw and in sophomore.
Their houses weren't a surprise to me, I expected all of them to go to the ones they fell into, it was obvious to me, however, I did not imagine we would be put in sophomore year, that only gives us 3 years in Von Hyden Academy, which is nightmare. We were supposed to be here for 5 years, what in Tartarus changed?
How much will this affect the plan?
Why did this had to happen when my baby siblings came with me?
It's unfair to them and horrible to me, to the mission.
