The second Irina finished claiming Iris as a Mantisclaw, I felt all the eyes in the room on me, and inhaling deeply, I opened my eyes and stood up. "So, since I'll be getting Poisontail and sophomore year, obviously, what does that mean? The program gives us 5 years to be here, does that mean that after senior graduation we'll have to leave? Or we'll get 2 years to be in the Kingdom, and then go back at the end of the agreed plan?" I asked nobody in special, walking to where Irina is.

"We are people of word, you will get 2 years to live in the Kingdom freely!" The Headmaster exclaimed from where she's standing. "This is not about the program, this about which year your soul is fated to be in. You could be a Year 1."

"I know where my soul is fated to be," I scowled, "with my family."

"I don't know why you're so sure you're a Poisontail, you could be a mantis," a female with the grace of a Royal and the arrogance of an Imperial spoke.

"You already got two of my sisters, don't be greedy, fae Princess," I scoffed.

She frowned, "How do you know I'm the Princess?"

"I know the arrogance of a Princess very well, and you have that, fae."

Her frown deepened, "And how would you know that?"

"I bet you wanna know, but you ain't worthy," I mocked and turned to Irina. "My mom is the one I trust, and she says I'm a Poisontail, so, I am."

"You mom is a person of powerful intuition, Alyssa," Irina smiled at me.

I smiled back, "She is, ain't she?"

"Can you take the gloves for a minute, please, Alyssa?"

"Just Lyssa," I winked at her, taking them off, then I rested them on my right shoulder and rose both my palms to the crystal ball in her hand. "Like this?"

"Now, close your eyes and touch it," she guided me, but knowing I know it.

I listened to her and felt the familiar pinch of the artifact, letting it do its job.

But like with everyone, she didn't even take 1 minute to exclaim.

"Poisontail House. Year 3!" Her voice was ancient when she spoke.

And I opened my eyes with a smug on, "See? I told you that I-"

I froze when I saw her body shaking, her fate magic expanding more and more, her eyes turned beck and the eyeballs went from white to galactic dust, silver tears rolling down her eyes. I jumped, taking my hands off the stone, scared I did something, that I may have caused this.

"Irina!" I gasped. "What... what's happening?" I tried to shake her shoulders but magic exploded on me and sent me flying to the other side of the huge room, so violently I hit my back on a hard wall. "Fucking shit, what in the Tartarus?" I groaned and when a hand tried to grab mine to get me up, I jerked away.

I realized I hadn't fall against a wall but a person with a very hard body, a tall person, and when I looked up to see who it was, I jerked away from him, a soundless yelp leaving me, but when I did, I really did fall on my ass. And when I felt the lack of the gloves, I looked away from the son of the mate I abandoned, and as I grabbed it, I quickly put it on.

"Do not touch me with your fae hands, royal fae," I hissed, then I used my magic to propel me up, turning into my fox and going to Irina. "Irina!"

"What did you do to her?" The headmaster yelled at me.

"I would never do anything to her, suggest that again, and I'll attack you," I hissed, feeling close to freaking out, and when I tried to get to her again, Irina's magic pushed me away, it didn't let me bend it to get to her, because after all, even a divine demon can't mess with fate magic. "What the hell is happening?"

"You are a fox, do something!" The Hindergrass Princess yelled exasperated.

"Why don't your fae dragons do? We're all divine beasts," I yelled back at her. "And if you don't know, not even divine beasts can bend fate magic to their will! If not even a fucking God can, you think we can? Fate is a primordial matter, a primordial magic, it transcends Gods, it transcends all our races. I can't do shit!"

"Davon," the headmaster yelled, "try joining your power with Alyssa, and,"

"Not him!" I yelled. "Get his brother."

"You are not getting anywhere close to my brother," he snapped.

"This is not about you, you fucking jerk!"

"I am not the jerk in here, am I?" He said with so much anger I nearly puked.

Did Eric tell him what I did? "That doesn't matter, it's not about me."

"It's your touch that got her like this," he countered, coming to me.

"I did not touch her, I touched her ball," I hissed.

"Well, that's rich coming from a succubus," he mocked.

Is he kidding me? "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"I don't think my answer is appropriated for everyone here to hear it!" Oh, Eric totally talked to him, absolutely, one hundred percent, not a doubt.

"I have no idea what's that supposed to mean," I clenched my jaw.

"That trait definitely runs in your maternal bloodline, playing dumb about what's right in front of them, doesn't it?" This time his voice was nearly a whisper as he was already close to me, glaring down at my eyes with his mismatched irises identical to his dad.

"Are you offending my mom?" I glared back at him, unyielding. Just I know I'm wrong and I did break Eric's heart, it doesn't mean I'll let his son step on me. Eric was my mate, not Davon, and nothing will change that. He doesn't even have the right to say much shit about it, because I never even touched another person with the intent of even satisfying sexual desire, while he was here, marrying, merging Houses, and having two fucking sons, that bastard.

"I am offending you," his voice was nearly a lethal whisper.

Well, indeed, he is, he would be offending me either way, "Focus on Irina, stop wasting your damned time trying to mess with me, little merge spawn," I hissed, unable to hold it, even if that makes me even more annoyed, this guy makes me angry, even if he's my mate's son, and especially because he's my mate's son. Then I closed my eyes and used my magic to try forcing the barrier her magic build against us, until it breaks.

I felt the familiar dragon magic heating my skin at my side, his wave matching mine, which got me on an even worse edge, especially when our magic fused to go against hers, and it felt too... too much like what it should not be feeling like. The the urge to slap the rubberband on my wrist burned my chest, but I held it because Irina needed me more, to get her out of whatever was happening to her. But we didn't get to her, instead, her magic got to us, burning ours away and consuming us inside her magic.

As her fate magic began to get to my veins, I felt my conscience waving, my eyes turning back and thick cold tears rolling down my pale cheeks, my body getting off the ground again and going higher and higher. But this time, it felt like something above me, something ancient was grabbing me up, my body arched, my arms felt behind me, and I felt... ancient like a fox should feel. More than my body, it felt like it was reaching my soul, forcing an astral projection into something else, a plane in another time.

I felt like I was about to lose my mind and be swallowed in insanity, when a hand bigger than mine intertwined its fingers in my right hand, grounding me in a way, and though I knew it was Davon, I couldn't understand why he was doing it, I couldn't make up him, I couldn't see anything, but I felt it. All I could do was tighten my fingers on his, to be grounded and not lose myself, to not go insane.
