"I'll have be quicker, so pay attention, we won't have much time to talk about this without people around us there. And we cannot let them know what the hell were are up there, or we'll be rightfully executed," I mocked and they all paled.
As they should, we're all screwed. Me even more.
"Both the Gray and the Black Clans are of shifter orders, so I'll just blab about both together, but in order of power. Of course, like in all races, that are generational prodigies in each order than excell more than all others, but they ain't majority. Faringrays are hawks, Songrays are lions, Dawngrays are panthers, Blackstrands are snakes, Blackburns are jaguars, Blackwells are chamaeleons."
"They are all nearly in the same power level, there's just a soft difference from one to the other. They possess wind magic, fire magic, water magic, earth magic, wind magic and fire magic, respectively," sigh. "Now, the easier. Ober Clan, two houses, Oberheim and Oberhelm, both sirens, both with water magic dominantly for obvious reasons. You know what sirens are, we have undead siren in the rivers, hypnotizing killer song, lethally attractive, have soft scales on their skin."
"The color of the scales that glow in some spots of their fae body indicate their strongest element. Water is royal blue, wind is silver, fire is red, earth is black, thunder is purple, ice is ice blue, sound is golden, and gravity is pink. That helps on avoiding trouble or preparing for a fight if you get in it with a siren. Their skin is glowy and spotless, and in various colors also being able to get pale blue, pale lavender, and pale green, though that indicate the savage ones that can only be on water."
"Two Houses in the Mein Clan, both fairies, both with weather manipulation, easy to spot because of the pretty bright glowy wings, like the spiritual butterfly's, the Druimeins all have ice magic, the Dumeins all have fire magic. Now, the D'un Clan is different, the D'undragons are unicorn with water magic and you can spot them because of the colorful or golden horns in their forehead, while the D'unamarks are the pegasus I mentioned before and wind whom you can spot by their wider wings that are either white or caramel or black and speed out downward."
"Tartarus be damned, be extremely careful with unicorns, they are empaths, they feed on emotions as much as sirens do, which I forgot to say. Their touch will tell them everything you are feeling and they can either feed on it, change them, or use it to force you open up and tell them all your secrets. Lastly, the Strom Clan. Leerstroms are sea serpents, Cathstroms are krakens, both self explanatory, we have them here, but those up there are also fae, conscious, and can walk normally like us, which the ones here can't, making them a worse danger. They got water magic, all are white with monolid eyes."
"24 noble houses and 4 royal houses," Nia pointed.
I nodded, "Exactly, but this resume of them is enough to pass though the races for now, you will learn a lot while there, like I did, since I had no one to tell me shit. Giants and dwarfs are obvious to spot for even more obvious reasons, humans all a bracelet made out of a gem stone tight in the wrist of their dominant hand for healing as they are easy prey, and the exiled kids who are coming back all have a black snake tattoo on their right palm and a scorpion tattooed on the nape of their neck."
"Wait, you said the school is divided in houses!"
"Good call, Nia," I snapped my fingers. "Each house represent one of royal houses, their colors on the uniforms, their symbolic animal on the crest, and the name is easy to differ. Poisontail of the founders of Von Hyden, Windspear of the Wintermere, Nightwing of the Amblecrown, and Mantisclaw of Hindergrass," I hate those names, horrible choices.
"Our uniforms are personalized for the houses?" Rose asked.
I nodded, "Yes, babe. Poisontail is the house of red and black, their crest symbol is the scorpion, and the kids in it are called scorpions. Windspear is the house of blue and white, their crest symbol is the fenrirwolf, and they are called wolves. Nightwing is the house of yellow and brown, called the bats. Now, Mantisclaw used to be the house of green and orange, but it's famous for being the house with most girls so they made them change for green and pink, and they are called the mantises."
"What was your house, Lia?" Minnie asked excited.
"I've been a Poisontail in both my times in there. We don't choose, there a magical artifact made by the rare witches of fate, that when we touch it, it tells the house our soul belongs to," Irina takes care of that, as she's a witch of fate, I can't wait to meet her again. "Poisontail is the house of the ambitious and egocentric, Kara is probably gonna fall in it with me," I grinned.
She gasped, "Oh, don't be an ass, Lia."
"It's the winning house, baby," I winked. "There are countless tournaments and the houses are always competing in everything. We get points for everything around there, just as we loose it too, and it sums up with everyone in our house, which decides the ranking every semester. Poisontail had the most ambitious, it's self-explanatory, but it's a house of assholes with superiority complex," I smirked mischievously, "like me."
"Good to know you're self aware, Lia," Vi mocked.
"I can only speak of Poisontail, I don't remember much of the other three, but I remember cataloging the kids in Windspear as the smart ones, the kids in Nightwing as the kind-hearted ones who would only hurt a fly if needed or if hurt, and the ones in Mantisclaw as the obnoxious and annoying ones who wouldn't shut the fuck up and always made a tsunami out of a glass of water," I hated them, ugh. "They oppose directly to Poisontail, so maybe that's why."
"So, if the houses are like the royal houses, is there no allies?"
I turned to Ella who had finally spoken after a while, "Not on the daily, but when it comes down to allying to another house, Poisontail allies with Windspear, Nightwing allies with Mantisclaw, just like the royal houses do, it's an unspoken common knowledge there. If I had to take a guess, I would say the eight of us will be divided, two in each of the four houses, in different towers, different dorms."
"What?" Minnie cried.
"It's both good and bad, babe. Good, because we'll be able to separate and conquer, but bad because we'll be apart and the towers are each in different extremities of the jaw-dropping enormous fortress that is Von Hyden Academy. Visiting other houses is alright as long as you have friends in there, but can cause fights, so we would better meet constantly in the communal lounge or in the library."
"How annoying," Kara growled.
"I know, but we'll manage. We share the dorm with another person of our gender on the beginning, but if you climb up the ranks to top 10 of your house, year, or overall, you get one just for yourself. Now, you should all beware one professor, which we call masters there. He is the biggest pain in the ass, and he was a jerk to me in both my two times there, Combat Master Nephercheres Qeb-Hayek, of serpent shifter order, a merciless bastard who's probably 8 millennials old by now and one of the five oldest people there. He hates demons, dragons, and all wolves."
