Fate is the gilding book of life, it ravels us into many pieces, we are but a game to the world.
It takes us, destroys us, and rebuilds us. We have no choice in the matter of life.
The fulgent moon has befallen the metropolitan area, illuminating the dark streets. The grand city was filled with vile and displaced people; these derelicts were truly awoken in the dark. Not entitled to beg or to show mercy their only desire was to make it to the next day.
The grand city of New York was no more but a gloomy shadow of its past. The rich have garnered more riches while the poor die from starvation. Those who have power live in skyscrapers while the tarnished lived on the street, for that was the life of the weak and poor.
Past the shallow streets dark and grimy there lirked a woman. Her face was covered with a hood and the darkness covered her body giving no sight to what she was wearing.
She seemed impatient as if she was running from something or maybe someone.
With each step she took the speed at which she was going grew. The sound of her shoes hitting the paved path grew just as her speed, a tap became thump, and soon a beat that garnished many of the vagrants of the dark who were delighted at the sight of women.
As the dark truth came to light for the women. She noticed the attention, and all she could do was run faster and not be held back by the darkness.
Soon the women's pace lessened and with observation, you would understand that in the city. In the slums, there are no street lamps and no lights at night, but only the light of the moon.
The woman now could be seen, there was light giving sight to her she had left the slums and entered a safe urban area.
The steps dwindled little by little. She seemed to be at her destination.
What was in front of her was. A set of stairs gave way to a porch, and there could be seen two doors closed these doors were black, and the door handle was gold. The walls of the three-story place gave an unsightly feeling.
The women felt the feeling and that feeling was home. A place to sleep and eat, to not worry or be concerned about her safety.
But this was not for her; under the darkness, she unraveled what seemed to be a cloth that was holding something on her, that was placed on her chest.
She began taking steps, to reach the porch each step gave sight to what she was looking for There were light bulbs on the wall of the front door. After taking her last step, light gave sight to what the woman was caring. It was a newborn baby covered in dark blue cloth.
All this time the baby was silent as if everything was alright there was no need to cry. It was always beside its mother and that gave it peace of mind.
But the mother knew that and she did not want the baby anymore for she knew what was best for the child and that was to sacrifice a life with it so that it could live a life.
She looked at the doors of her destination above the doors and it stated "Holy Cross Home For Orphans". It could be seen with the light from the doors that she was smiling. Though her hood covered her face, light still peeked in.
Then she gave one more look at the child before placing it down as slow as a sloth taking in every detail of the child she will never see.
The night grew and the clouds deepened. Covering the moon only the light of the house gave sight to the baby that lay still and quiet on the porch.
Until the rain came, time passed, and the city of darkness was now covered in rain.
The clouds grew and the sound of lightning and thunder came. With that, it could be heard a sound of crying, a sound of loneliness, and a plea for help.
Bang! Bang!
A loud lighting woke someone up. A woman was crying. It seems that the woman was crying about her dream. A dream about a family. She dreamed that she had a son and daughter who would live a long life and give her grandkids to help her when she got old.
The woman thought, 'It seems I am getting too old and all my wishes will only be but a dream but at least I have these'…
Before she could finish her thought, she heard a cry. All she thought was 'Who's baby is that' She was a caregiver and one of the ladies helping in the orphanage.
She got up and followed the sound. Before she knew it she was at the front door of the orphanage.
She opened the door.
"Hello," she said looking at what was in front of her, and then she looked down to see what seemed to be a baby wrapped in cloth.
Her motherly instinct kicked in and she picked up the baby and brought him inside the orphanage. She figured that the mother or father had already left and there was no reason to look for them.
She thought "I don't even know how long the child was out there, all I should do is get him warmed up"
The first thing she noticed while holding the baby was that it needed a diaper change. The smell it gave off was bothersome.
Once she had reached a place to change the baby.
Unraveling the cloth there seemed to be something: it was a note left with the baby.
It said, "His name is Ash, and he's a kind and sweet boy. He is patient; he only cries when he's alone so I ask that you give him love and a family."
After reading the woman looked at the child and started to cry.
She said, "Hello Ash what a beautiful name for a beautiful child like you, the name you were given was the name that your mother wanted."
She picked him up after changing his diapers and once again she began speaking to the child.
"Welcome to your new home and the beginning of a new life"
